Tưởng tượng examiner đưa bạn Task Card và bạn có 1 phút để chuẩn bị. Bạn sẽ làm gì?

Ví dụ examiner đưa bạn tờ Task Card này. Bạn sẽ viết gì? Một câu dài ngoằng hay cả một đoạn văn hay một chiếc mặt cười. Thực ra, luyện tập cách take note trước khi thi là cách tốt nhất để tối ưu hóa thời gian khi làm bài thi thật và tạo nền tảng cho bài nói 2 phút.

Mỗi lần mình thi thử đều siêu áp lực và mình không thể nghĩ thông suốt và thời gian thì cứ thế trôi đi mất và mình nhận ra không thể viết cả bài nói vào task card được. Mỗi lần nhận được task card mình đều dừng 20s để nghĩ cái để nói. Ví dụ, A gift you recently received. Mình đã phải lục tìm trong trí nhớ xem món quà gì thì đủ đặc biệt để nói và mình lại mắc kẹt trong những món quà mà mình không thể nhớ nổi. 

Ví dụ: Nếu trước kia mình được đưa đề bài này mình sẽ:

B1: Đọc card

B2: Viết tên 2 trang web: Nghe dễ đúng không nào, trang nào xuất hiện thì chép lại luôn ví dụ như Google. Và tất nhiên phải nghĩ đến trang web thứ 2 vì rất nhiều người học IELTS đã gặp vấn đề với việc cạn ý tưởng và không biết nói gì, lúc đó thì trang web thứ 2 sẽ là cứu cánh của mình ví dụ như Facebook.

B3: Đọc card một lần nữa

B4: Hít thở sâu

Có vẻ như làm như vậy sẽ không viết được nhiều ý vì mất quá nhiều thời gian để nghĩ đúng không nào? Vậy làm sao để nghĩ nhanh hơn để nói được trong 2 phút. 

Cách tối ưu nhất là:

B1: Đọc card

B2: Viết tên 1 website:

B3: Nghĩ về “sự thay đổi” (PPF)-Past, Present, Future: Ví dụ trang web là Google. Hãy nghĩ về Google trong quá khứ, hiện tại và tương lai.

• Quá khứ: search input box, different searching options like video search, image search, web search, advanced search options, some copyright and help links, and search buttons
• Hiện tại: the most visited website, best search engine 
• Tương lai: still gonna use it 

B3: Đọc lại card

B4: Hít thở sâu

Lí do sau việc brainstorm về “sự thay đổi” là để duy trì được bài nói trong vòng 2 phút mà không bị bí ý tưởng và mở rộng vốn ngôn ngữ nhiều hơn qua việc sử dụng nhiều verb tenses ( past tense verbs, present tense verbs, future verbs) giúp nâng band điểm grammar cũng như fluency và coherence.
