More and more people are migrating to cities in search of a better life, but city life can be extremely difficult. Explain some of difficulties of living in a city. How can the governments make urban life better for everyone? In the contemporary world, life in cities has aroused the public’s interest in recent years because of a search for a higher living standard. However, there are a variety of problems that citizens have to face. This essay will highlight several issues of city life and suggest some solutions for the governments to tackle them. It is conspicuous that there are numerous obstacles, preventing people from having a better life in urban areas. Firstly, it is obvious that the cost of living in cities has risen for a long time, which means services such as healthcare or entertainment are unaffordable for some people. Therefore, the living standard could be reduced, even leading to depression and anxiety disorder. Secondly, environmental pollution also has a great impact on human’s health, especially air pollution. As a result, people have to face a risk of asthma and other respiratory issues. Thirdly, The lack of job opportunities also plays a crucial role in reducing living standards in big cities, so that city dwellers may struggle in search of work, causing a rise in unemployment and crimes. In order to enhance living conditions, the governments should solve those issues thoroughly. Regarding the rate of unemployment, the more the policy broadens job networking opportunities, the less the number of criminal offences could be. Moreover, by establishing campaigns and movements to protect the environment, the life of citizens can be better. For example, “We Cycle” is an annual campaign, where people can take part in plastic collection activities and recycle them into other products. Ultimately, if the budget allocation for services were extended, inhabitants could meet their basic needs without a lack of financial resources. What are the most serious problems associated with the Internet and what solutions can you suggest? In this day and age, the proliferation of internet usage has led to significant alternations in the way people share and consume information. While this change causes loads of issues in societies, there are still solutions implemented by governments, local authorities and families. This problem can be explained by two main reasons. First of which is the advantages that some easily accessible websites can take from the internet user, especially from the young people. It can be seen that there are still teenagers who are not of age, try to swindle the censorship on some social platforms for pornographic purposes. These websites, however, give a tacit agreement due lack of consistence in pecuniary benefits from the young age. Another major issue is the appearance of a new type of scheme which is e-fraud or account hacking. These frauds, finally, result in being appropriated property or releasing one’s personal information which can considerably affect their lives. Fortunately, several measures can be implemented to alleviate these problems. Initially, governments should thoroughly check the validation of sites rather than simply old-enough confirmation. This can contribute to preventing the youth from inappropriate and dangerous online information or better still, imposing stricter legislation and punishment as a censored caution on websites that infringe intentionally. In addition, some campaigns should be raised by local authorities in order to raise awareness related to the accurate way to use Internet safety to protect individual’s possession and private information. Besides, families also play a significant role in this issue due to the closest relationship. Parents should closely monitor their children and restrict their access to certain sites. Obviously, without parents’ supervision, it is understandable why there is such a growing number of teenagers approaching unsuitable media. Nowadays, many people drive to work or school instead of walking, cycling or using public transport. Is this a positive or negative development? In recent years, there has been a growing concern over the problems caused by evolving means of transportation. Many people prefer commuting to their workplace or educational institution by using their private vehicles rather than using public services. While cars certainly offer inevitable conveniences, from my perspective, I personally agree that going by passenger cars should be seen as a negative development. A major drawback of commuting is that it creates more traffic congestion. Private automobiles, which can only accommodate four to seven individuals at a time, take up space on city roadways. Consequently, commuters may be stuck in traffic for hours during peak hours, leading to lost productivity and a detrimental impact on the residents' mental health. In Vietnam, for example, during commute hours, citizens have to endure noise and traffic jams, as well as hours of delays. Another negative aspect of driving cars on city streets is their detrimental impact on the environment. This is because automobiles are one of the primary sources of air pollution, as they release large amounts of nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. According to data, highway vehicles release about 1.4 million tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere each year, contributing to global climate change. Studies have shown that in Europe, 80-90% of cars’ environmental impact comes from fuel consumption and emissions of air pollution and greenhouse gases, which can damage the inhabitants' life expectancy and increase the risk of respiratory diseases such as lung cancer, heart attacks, and asthma. Finally, driving private cars gives less time for other more healthy activities, like walking in the park or following another hobby. This is because walking and cycling will burn calories and excess fat while using passenger automobiles triggers numerous physical illnesses mainly overweight, obesity, and fast heartbeats. Consequently, people's health may be depleted and exhausted. In conclusion, with the aforementioned explanations, I strongly believe that the development of passenger cars has many shortcomings, causing harmful effects on human longevity and the environment. A straightforward yet noticeable weakness of this trend is that giving freedom to children may take a toll on their academic performance at school. This is because if they overuse technology to play games without having supervision from their parents, they may lack study responsibilities which can lead to bad marks at their school. Another limitation worth noting is that the bond between parents and children would be diminished. It is the opportunities that their parents instill moral values, and provide fundamental guidance to support children in their lives and navigate challenges. Consequently, when children have more freedom to direct their lives, parental involvement may make it difficult to form a relationship with their offspring due to the lack of chances to interact with them. However, I believe that the positive aspects of this approach are far more significant than the downsides mentioned above. The most obvious advantage is that this trend would benefit the personal development of children. Firstly, children can strengthen critical thinking which is considered a valuable skill for children. The key rationale behind this is that individuals can have more time to explore their interests and make their own decisions. Buying a toy is the case at this point. If children are granted the freedom to choose what they want, they will take their needs or the price into consideration. Moreover, discovering new interests will foster creativity and innovation that they might not have detected before. A further benefit is communication skills. For instance, allowing children to have more freedom means they can spend time hanging out with their peers outside, which leads to strong social skills. In conclusion, despite having the aforementioned disadvantages of providing freedom to children, I believe that this positive strength would contribute to their intimate development. In the modern world, teenagers who are spending more time online are constantly increasing. Adolescents' communication abilities have been influenced both adversely and positively by their internet activities. This essay will discuss the possible effects of this problem. On the one hand, there are several benefits to communicating through social media. First of all, young individuals can easily connect with their friends and relatives around the world. For example, Instagram already serves 1.5 million users worldwide, allowing adolescents to connect with their peers by clicking on Instagram and talking. Second, the internet allows for effective contact with people all over the world via email and instant chat. This is due to the fact that we may interact with each other quickly instead of waiting months as in the past. Furthermore, unlike in the past, when we had to pay extra postage if we wanted to send a letter overseas, we can now save money by just clicking a mouse. On the other hand, spending time online has some drawbacks for teenagers' communication. First, young individuals who spend time online often suffer from sleep deprivation, weight gain, and being unable to process emotion as compared to previous generations. First, early exposure to education can significantly enhance children’s cognitive development. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that quality education commenced during children’s early years can help children engender critical thinking skills as well as problem-solving abilities. These may become the building blocks for their future academic success. Second, early formal education can also benefit parents. From my point of view, while the benefits of monitoring individuals' activities are undeniable, I believe that the downsides of regulating users outweigh the benefits. There are two main benefits of user monitoring. The most advantageous aspect is that using technology can deter people from engaging in illegal activities. This is due to the fact that without CCTV cameras, individuals would commit an offense such as robberies, money laundering, and murders. Therefore, installing hidden surveillance equipment can create a sense of safety and security for citizens. Moreover, tracking technology systems can survive people's lives in some situations. For example, in Ha Noi city, some babies were kidnaped by terrorists with GPS trackers, the police quickly identified all the abducted children and rescued them. While being followed by tracking systems has many perks, there are far more significant consequences. One negative aspect of cellphone tracking is that it makes users feel nervous. They believe that they feel uncomfortable and fatigued while calling and chatting with their friends, and their relatives. The second downside is that some scammers and hackers can get access to individuals' accounts and steal money, some essential information that might be dangerous to users.
