Topic: Today, people in many countries have to spend more and more time away from their families. Why is this happening? What effects does this have on the people themselves and on their families? It is believed that people in many nations have the tendency to spend less time with their family. In my opinion, this phenomenon could be caused by several reasons and there are some adverse effects on family members. There are some rationales why the time individuals spend with their family is becoming less. One of the reasons is the development of technologies, leading to the indifference of each family member. Because people nowadays have their own devices such as smartphones and laptops, they seem to immerse themselves in using these devices for entertaining purposes and become less attentive to other members. To be more specific, some people are constantly on their phones during social gatherings, checking their messages or social network notifications and surfing their news feeds. Another reason is that people now are under work pressure; therefore, the adults have to cut down on family time to concentrate on making a living, which means the relationships among members seem to be neglected. For example, due to work demand or income stress, individuals are forced to work overtime, leaving them with little time for their family. If this trend lasts for a long time, it will cause some undesirable consequences. Firstly, the connection with other family members may become weaker and lost, which leads to conflicts and breakdown. Due to the lack of time spent together, people seem unable to understand each other and there is not enough trust among them so that they can confide in; therefore, if there was a misunderstanding, it would easily lead to quarreling among members, which increases the rate of divorce. Moreover, the children could be severely affected for mental life due to the lack of parental care. Some parents seem not to realize that their children, without encouragement or attention from family, are more vulnerable to social problems such as peer pressure or bullying, which makes them suffer abuse at school or even depression. In conclusion, one of the reasons above has led to the fact that people are spending less time to stay with family and this trend brings about several negative effects on both the individuals and their relatives. Topic: Some feel that cities should be designed to be beautiful while others feel their functionality is more important. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion. While it is believed that cities should be built with attractive design, others believe that practicality should come first. In my opinion, the functionality ought to be paid more attention compared to the design. On the one hand, it is understandable why people think the layout of a city should be designed beautifully because the city will properly carry itself with a unique image compared to other normal cities; therefore, it tends to be an interesting tourist attraction. For instance, a city designed in a historic style will become more attractive since tourists perhaps grab attention to nostalgic objects compared to other metropolises which have modern styles. Thanks to the number of tourists coming to the city, it tends to produce an enormous profit for the local authority and this money can be used to partially support the living standard of local citizens. However, the government should not underestimate the functionality because if people maintain the focus on design too much and forget the quality of infrastructure or public services, it will cause bad experiences for the tourists. Moreover, functionality plays an important role in the backbone of the city’s economy. The more improved the quality of amenities are, the more contributions from the residents to the city because once it meets all the basic needs of the people’s lives, the residents will have more time to work for the benefit of the city, which properly contributes to the economic growth. Also, it can be seen clearly that people have the tendency to choose to develop sufficient better facilities such as health care service, public transport and educational infrastructure rather than building statues or decorating the city with different styles because the functionality is what will serve their lives, not the beautiful layout. In conclusion, while the attractive designs still have a positive impact on the development of the cities, I would opine that the functionality should be concentrated to develop first. The primary goal of education for children has undergone a significant shift as it is now seen as having a crucial role in human civilization. There are others who believe that children ought to be raised in a competitive environment. Children are taught to cooperate together, which makes them more prospective adults. This is another area of disagreement. There are benefits and drawbacks to these two arguments. Let's start with the advantages that youngsters will experience if they are raised in competitive educational environments. When faced with fierce competition, they will have a greater sense of self-improvement and enthusiasm. Under such circumstances, kids will try to figure out how to better their competitive hunger while also finding appropriate methods to develop themselves. However, the other side of it somehow arouses angry feelings that could lead to needless physical and spiritual altercations. Conversely, kids who learn cooperation will acquire a variety of soft skills and comprehend the pathways that may be required for them in the future. Children who cooperate have the opportunity to pick up valuable skills from others. However, in addition to teaching cooperative skills, this method can also create other detrimental personality traits including envy, carelessness, and selfishness. Thus, I wholeheartedly concur that teaching kids to cooperate instead of competing is a good idea. Although nobody is perfect, in this way, we continuously shape our characters every day. As a result, I believe that rather than emphasizing rivalry and hierarchy, parents and educators should focus on encouraging cooperation in their kids. The primary goal of education for children has undergone a significant shift as it is now seen as having a crucial role in human civilization. Topic: The diagram below shows the process of growing and preparing pineapples and pineapple products. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and making comparisons where relevant. Solve: The diagram illustrates the process of growing, preparing, and processing pineapples into various products. Overall, the process involves both natural and man-made elements, which can be divided into 2 main stages: growing and processing pineapples, which eventually turn into a beverage, a canned food, or an export.. Initially, pineapples are grown in the field with their crowns spaced 26 centimeters, in a climate where the temperature ranges from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius. After 7 months, ethylene is sprayed on the plants, then they continue to grow for 5 months until harvesting, reaching a height of 30cm and weigh 2kg Turning to the second step, this process continues with the harvested pineapple undergoing washing before being graded basing on their sizes. After grading, small sized and medium sized pineapples are removed from their tops and peeled off their skins. While the former is fed into an extractor machine to produce juice, the latter is sliced and canned. Conversely, the largest pineapples are coated with wax, placed in wooden crates, and subsequently exported internationally. Consumers are faced with increasing numbers of advertisements from competing companies. To what extent do you think are consumers influenced by advertisements?
The advertising industry has risen sharply due to the rivalry between competing companies. As a result, the market and customers are nowaday strongly affected by the flourishing of the number of advertisements, especially in their shopping habits and understanding. Production and consumption account for how effective advertising is. Visibly, advertisements attract consumers through videos, banners, and vouchers with a view to stimulating sales. Taking Black Friday as an example, big deals are given out to draw buyers' attention, which results in a sharp rise in sales figures, however, consumers still receive good products with ideal prices. That also explains why international trading markets always have programs with vouchers and coupons that really hit the point which buyers care about and still gain profits as the bigger quantity their sale, the more profit they gain. On the other hand, besides the aim of introducing products, the advertising industry also drives consumers to helpful knowledge about that sphere. By offering uses of each substance used in the items, skincare companies such as Cocoon in Vietnam not only have shown out their strength and updates, but also have raised a high recognition among users about which vitamins or minerals are healthy for our skin. This might be a win-win situation which both improves brand identification for the company and gains personal benefits for users. In summary, the advertising industry does not only catch customers' attention but also broaden their horizon about that aspect, which can be considered as leaving a strong impact on their aiming objectives. The advertising industry has risen sharply due to the rivalry between competing companies. Topic: Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to poorer countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Wealthy nations often give financial support to poorer nations, however, it failed to reduce poverty. Others argued that some other help from developed countries is more significant than monetary aid to undeveloped ones. Admittedly, financial aid is crucial in specific urgent cases. First, once one country faced natural disasters such as floods, droughts, and so on, they would need to receive immediate support from others. Specifically, residents in disaster areas lack basic needs such as food, medicine and shelter, therefore giving money immediately is the best way to help them. Second, financial aid from wealthier nations play a critical role in serious problems of the world. For instance, during the Covid-19 pandemic, undeveloped countries received financial support from others in preparation for vaccines, medications, and modern medical equipment that contribute to mitigate the effect of the coronavirus. However, it is essential to implement other kinds of aid. First and foremost, developed countries should cooperate in education with poorer countries since education is one of the most important elements into the development of a nation. For example, some English speaking countries can provide practical English courses for public schools in poor countries so that students will be fluent in English, which enhances their chances to access new knowledge around the globe. Secondly, governments should encourage foreign investors to do business in developing countries, which bring many benefits for them including cost-saving in labor. Furthermore, thanks to oversea investment, the number of industrial parks will be increasing in undeveloped countries, which will create more job opportunities for citizens. In conclusion, although financial assistance is still a significant role for low-income nations, I believe that support for developing education and creating jobs are more essential in the long term. It is believed that individuals who engage in reading books can cultivate greater imagination and linguistic abilities than those who prefer television. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Linguistic abilities and imagination are believed to be achieved far more via reading books than televisions. I completely hold the approval of this belief. First and foremost, creation including linguistic abilities and imagination is mainly formed during brain functioning. This separates the mentioned sphere into two parts: via books and electronic devices such as televisions. Books which are full of words are usually misunderstood as dull, but while reading and diving in words you may find heaven. Meanwhile your brain is trying to interpret diagrams, a small part of it starts to analyze data and comes up with imagined pictures. Reading and imaging at the same time helps the brain to connect words with images that are specifically created yourself, resulting in blowing up your creation. In contrast, although watching the film which is remade from a novel, watchers still don’t gain the same. The core reason is believed that televisions are deemed as ready-made image providers. The brain while watching television only receives provided images, which directly restricts the desire to create own experience and thinking. Recent researches also point out that kids whose brain are familiar with the provided image, refuse to read and imagine themselves as they believe it is redundant. This totally leads to the unreversed consequences that lazy brained is created, and less and less linguistic abilities and imagination can be cultivated. In summary, books and televisions are generated to offer users with different purposes. However, the merits from engagement in reading books are far more than its counterpart: watching televisions, especially in developing linguistic abilities and imagination. Linguistic abilities and imagination are believed to be achieved far more via reading books than televisions. I completely hold the approval of this belief. Mong cô chấm cho em với: Some people believe that people today have no interest in maintaining the traditional culture of their country or region. Other believe that it is still important to people that we preserve a traditional way of life . Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answers and include relevant examples.
BÀI LÀM In the fast-paced world, it is increasingly prevalent for individuals to hold the view that modern people are not willing to retain their country or region’s conventional culture. By contrast, many opponents believe that conserving the traditional lifestyle is vital to people. I strongly agree with the first opinion; however, positive changes and renovations in terms of culture are a primary factor for a utopian future and globalization in the digital age. In this essay, I will discuss both two perspectives, and give reasons and examples to support the arguments. Some individuals are of the statement that people feel maintaining the quintessential culture regarding traditional customs, clothes, cuisine, and so on is our necessary responsibility. One significant reason behind this is that keeping our unique rituals, fashion, styles of living and cooking will build our country’s cultural differences, making them become distinctive from the others. Therefore, it brings a feeling of pride, fulfillment, and pleasure to the native residents. Another advantage of cultural conservation is that tourism appeals are boosted, which brings a certain source of income to local people so that the rate of unemployment will somehow decrease. Hence, the national economy will be improved, stimulating the development of our country. Having said that, people today, particularly the young generation show no eagerness in preserving their domestic cultural norms and beliefs. There are several factors that cause the behavior of neglecting ordinary folklore of people nowadays. One significant rationale is social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, on which many people are free to post everything related to their lives. Thanks to the Internet’s evolution, the young generation can obtain new things that belong to every aspect of life more easily. For example, some occupations that refer to social media such as tiktokers, vloggers, or celebrities have a great influence on people’s mindsets, especially the youth. For further explanation, a specific celebrity’s sense of fashion or lifestyle may act as a stereotype to be imitated by her fans all over the world. In other case, foreign and local vloggers or influencers may advertise some particular products, as a result, those buyers are significantly inspired and affected by brand-new stuff. Furthermore, the virtual world creates acculturation, in where worldwide people have a chance to discuss and exchange their opinions. This is an opportunity that helps individuals integrate into the new culture quickly, which brings about the alteration of languages as well as social manners of young adults. Another potent cause is immigration. Many immigrants tend to learn and acquire the cultural characteristics of the country in which they live to adapt to their new civilization. The constant exposure to a state-of-the-art culture makes it simple to comprehend why they are reluctant to their origin. I personally believe that updating ourselves to keep up to date with the fast-paced world is not a negative case as long as we are able to filter the fantastic and beneficial sources of cultural patterns to obtain. Looking at it from another point of view, we should also maintain and respect our country’s beliefs and norms, omit the things so-called old-fashioned and awful. In conclusion, both views have their reasons behind them. I personally suppose that it is necessary for people to continually learn about the new culture providing that they have to select the information carefully and avoid taking bad patterns as a model Acculturation triggers the rapid growth of globalization. Therefore we should preserve our precious norms and folklore combined with acquiring wonderful things from other cultures. BÀI LÀM In the fast-paced world, it is increasingly prevalent for individuals to hold the view that modern people are not willing to retain their country or region’s conventional culture.
