The bar chart illustrates the amount of coffee that was produced in various countries between 1990 to 2010. Overall, most categories witnessed an upward trend, except for Colombia with a reverse pattern over the period in question. Another interesting point is that Brazil produced the most coffee than other countries. According to the chart, the amount of coffee in Brazil was approximately 0.7 million tonnes initially, then the figure plummeted to nearly 2 million tonnes in 2010. Conversely, there was a gradual decline in the number of coffee production in Colombia, which was from precisely 0.6 million tonnes to 0.4 million tonnes between 1990 and 2000. After that, the figure remained relatively stable for the remainder of this period. As can be seen, Indonesia allocated the amount of coffee of exactly 0.2 million tonnes in 1990, which plateaued until 1995. It then steadily rose before reaching a high peak of nearly twofold in 2010. Vietnam also underwent the same tendency as Indonesia. Having leveled off at about 0.1 million tonnes from 1990 to 1995, the production of coffee in Vietnam increased slightly by about 0.2 million tonnes in the last year of this period. The line graph illustrates tourists who set foot in four Brighton destinations in percentage from 1980 to 2010. Overall, Art Gallery, Pavilion and Pier saw many noticeable fluctuations over the time frame, while Festival was the most stable category throughout the 30 years from 1980 to 2010. Furthermore, Pavilion attracted the largest number of tourists over the years surveyed in general. By contrast, Pier lagged behind, taking up the smallest percentage of visitors. It is striking that Festival initially led the tourism market in terms of tourist attractions with 30% of tourists. However, this category remained stable after a slight decrease to 25% in 1985. Notably, Pavilion began at 23% in 1980, surged to a peak of nearly a half of tourists in 1995, then followed by a sharp decline to 35% in 2000, eventually reached 30% after a more gentle decrease. Turning to Art Gallery, the figure of tourists who came to this place was slightly above 20% in 1980, experiencing a considerable fall to 20% after peaking at 37% in 1985. Afterward, this category saw a more slight downward trend, hitting a low of under one-tenth ultimately. As for Pier, which had the minority of visitors with one-tenth initially in 1980. This category also fluctuated during the surveyed period, and experienced a general upswing in the subsequent period, grew to 15% in 1985 then finally reached above one-fifth in 2010 after witnessing some fluctuations. The graph below shows the number of overseas visitors to three different areas of a European country between 1987 and 2007. ANSWER: The diagram compares the number of visitors from abroad to different regions of one country in Europe over the period 1987 to 2007. Overall, it is clear that the figures saw an increase during most of the period, despite some fluctuations. The coast, and the lakes and mountains were the areas most visited by overseas tourists. In 1987, there were 40,000 visitors to the coast. Although the number fell slightly to around 38,000 in 1992, it then rose to a peak of 70,000 by 2004, before decreasing sharply to 55,000 in 2007. The figures for overseas visitors to the lakes and mountains witnessed a similar trend. From just 10,000 visitors in 1987, the number rose dramatically to a peak of 75,000 in 2002, overtaking visitor numbers to the coast by the year 2000. The figures then declined steadily to finish at around 65,000 in 2007. Series 3 overseas visitors numbered 20,000 in 1987 – double the number who went to the lakes and mountains. The figures then fluctuated, but after 1992 visits to the lakes and mountains were higher than Series 3. By 2007, however, visitor numbers for Series 3 had risen to a peak of 35,000. Living in big cities is bad for people's health. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion? It is believed that living in urban areas causes detrimental effects on people’s health. From my perspective , I partly agree with this viewpoint for several reasons because besides negative aspects , living in major cities also brings positive impacts on people’s health. On the one hand , living in a metropolis causes health risks. The increase in the number of inhabitants ask for the large number of means of transportation , especially private vehicles which released exhaust fumes into the air , leading to the high levels of polluted air. This brings negative impacts not only on the environment but also on respiratory system’s people. The argument in favor of this notion is notified by the fact that the nature of city life is competitive and fast-paced. Working overtime , coupled with limited access to fresh and heathy foods and prevalent of fast food chain , create unhealthy lifestyles , including skipping meals , staying up late and eating fast food. This , combined with pressure in high living cost in major cities leads to depression , anxiety , sleep disorder and obesity . On the other hand , i’m convinced that living in urban area brings several positive impacts on people’s health. The key rational in favor of this notion is that wider access to advanced medical services. The concentration of specialized hospitals and clinics in big cities increase access to modern facilities , highly skilled specialists and wider treatment options which give opportunities for city dwellers to treat complex and rare diseases , resulting in enhance heath and life quality In conclusion , despite of several detrimental effects , I believe that it stills have advantages for people’s health Living in big cities is bad for people's health. Some people think that strict punishments for driving offences are the key to reducing traffic accidents. Others, however, believe that other measures would be more effective in improving road safety. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
It is said that strict punishments is the major measure to prevent driving offenses while others believe that others solutions in related to road safety is more preferable. In my opinion, both means of reducing car accidents do play their role. On the one hand, strict penalties can deter drivers from violating the law, which helps decrease traffic accidents. Dangerous drivers will be more aware of laws and stop breaking laws because they do not want to lose money and time, paying for their faults. For example, some punishments can be taken account of are licence suspension or even prison sentences if drivers repeat offenses. As a result, the awareness of people will raise and they realize the magnitude of their wrong actions, which can pose a thread to their own life and others'. On the other hand, improving the safety of roads also contributes to decrease traffic accidents. First, signs and traffic lights should be placed fully at the right spot, especially traffic signs, which give drivers instructions to drive better and safer. Second, road quality should be considered, such as potholes on roads, which might cause accidents when drivers pass on it and lose balance of driving. Besides of raise quality of roads, the government should also encourage people to use public transport in order to descend traffic flow and prevent traffic accidents rising. In conclusion, punishments can improve the rate of traffic accidents, I think other range of measures also be effective. The government should apply several solutions to make sure the safety of drivers when being in traffic. In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative situation? Residents of some nations have strong desires to own a home rather than to rent one. The underlying factors behind this phenomenon will be closely examined in this essay, which will also argue that this trend can exert adverse impacts on society. Admittedly, people’s preference for possessing a home over renting one can be attributed to certain causative rationales, one of which is to foster the potential for highly profitable investments. Indubitably, the booming global population can potentially trigger a scarcity of real estate, proportionally inadequate to meet increasing demands, likely leading to soaring property prices. Hence, homeowners are likely to observe a significant increase in wealth. Another reason for this desire is that homeownership can result in a reduced risk of facing unpredictable problems such as abrupt cases of eviction or the rise in renting costs. These issues can leave renters homeless and financially precarious. In this sense, a stable home can foster a more fulfilling life. Although owning a home can provide financial stability and security, it is crucial to consider the drawbacks and implications for society as a whole. Doubtless, an unnecessarily high number of people allocating their finance for real estate can be the driving force behind the rise in properties, which proportionally acts as an inherent barrier against investors’ access to these properties for business activities. This will not only lead to the stagnation of national economies but also high unemployment rates. This is particularly noticeable in Vietnam, where there have been excessive investments in buildings and lands for recent decades, and this practice has caused unemployment at a dangerous rate and the economic crisis. In conclusion, financial benefits and better living conditions can have their deep roots in arousing and fueling the notion of affording a stable home. However, I am of the opinion that this phenomenon can bring about devastating consequences due to the possibility of preventing the economic growth and causing joblessness at an alarming level. In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative situation? Residents of some nati... Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measures are required. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. Essay It is argued that establishing more sports facilities or health clubs would be the most effective way to enhance public health. From my point of view, however, proper health education would be a better measure. To begin with, people's health has improved significantly as a result of their participation in sports facilities. It is indisputable that engaging in physical activities such as daily exercise or sports improves fitness levels. Therefore, the growing popularity of gym classes and sports clubs provides additional opportunities for people to improve their health. Many individuals in my neighborhood take nighttime yoga lessons to stay healthy after a long day at work. On the other hand, I believe that expanding the availability of sports facilities would have little impact on social health. This is explained by the fact that many people who paid for an annual gym membership stopped going after only one month. Therefore, I believe it is more vital to educate folk on fundamental health awareness. If a person has a basic understanding of medicine and healthcare, he can simply avoid several possible health issues. For instance, when a child has a wide knowledge of the adverse effects of smoking, he might be less likely to take up this bad habit in his adulthood. To summarise, the increasing prevalence of sports facilities has brought a wide range of health benefits for people. I believe that raising public awareness through health campaigns would have a greater positive impact on boosting people's health Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Topic: Many individuals argue that planning in advance is the cornerstone of success in life, whereas others contend that factors like diligence or fortune hold greater significance. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. In today's competitive world, achieving success is a constant pursuit. While some believe meticulous planning is utmostly crucial, others emphasize the importance of hard work or even luck. In my opinion, a well-rounded approach that embraces all these elements is the key to a fulfilling and successful life. A well-defined plan acts as a roadmap, providing direction and preventing procrastination. It also allows for adjustments as circumstances evolve. Imagine an ambitious high school student aiming for a prestigious school. A comprehensive plan outlining their coursework, extracurricular activities, and standardized test preparation significantly increases their chances of acceptance. However, life is rarely a smooth journey. Unexpected challenges can derail even the most meticulously laid plans. This is where unwavering determination and a strong work ethic come into play. These qualities empower individuals to overcome obstacles, find creative solutions, and forge new paths. Think of a passionate entrepreneur whose thoroughly planned business faces an economic downturn. Their relentless work ethic and adaptability can help them adjust their strategy and discover new opportunities. Finally, a touch of serendipitycan play a significant role. Being at the right place at the right time can open unforeseen doors. While luck is a chance factor, a well-prepared and diligent individual is more likely to capitalize on fortunate circumstances. For instance, a talented musician who relentlessly hones their craft may be discovered by a talent scout at a local performance, propelling their career forward. In conclusion, success is not a singular entity but a harmonious blend of well-defined goals, unwavering effort, and a touch of chance. By embracing this multifaceted approach, individuals can navigate the unpredictable road to success and create a fulfilling life filled with meaningful accomplishments. “both government investment in transport systems and reductions in public transport ticket prices will help to reduce transport pollution greatly. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?” These days, the matter of whether the government putting attempts in green movement by simultaneously handling transportation investment and ticket price reduction is useful. In my perspective, I strongly believe that this policy is necessary and highly welcomed due to the outcomes it brings. On the one hand, it is such a trustworthy development of the government to invest in the transport systems as it enhances the quality of life. Moreover, using public facilities is one of the most fundamental rights every citizen possesses. Therefore, people may be more encouraged to take public rides on a regular basis in order to have pleasant experiences with the most cutting-edge transportation. Take Vietnam as an example, a subway was constructed with the aim to reduce time traveling between two metropolitans and it attracted thousands of passengers when it was finally launched. On the other hand, people are prone to any decline in prices, especially when it comes to public assets which were constructed by the tax each mature individual paid. This is due to the fact that public traveling can save up a considerable amount of money. For example, people tend to choose public transport like bus or subway over personal belongings like car or motorbike so as to cut off a variety of costs such as maintenance, petrol and admission fee for cars. In conclusion, I firmly believe that this action of the government will make progress in developing the quality of social life. Furthermore, it can have a drastic impact on how transport pollution is controlled. “both government investment in transport systems and reductions in public transport ticket prices will help to reduce transport pollution greatly. Topic: Some people think our first impression of someone is important, while others think we should not judge another person so quickly and should take our time to know them better. Discuss both views and give your opinion. While the first impression of someone is supposed to play a crucial role in relationships, many people show their disagreement with this statement. From my perspective, I definitely believe that people had better not judge others at the first sight and spend time understanding each other. On the one hand, relationships are thought to be mainly affected by the first impression. Firstly, a person's self-presentation skills and confidence can be reflected when meeting at the first time. Apparently, communication skills, when people are involved in a conversation with strangers, can be evaluated by the things related directly to their personality and preferences such as tone of voice, sight, and gesture. Secondly, the first impression sometimes provides accurate insights into character. By observing partners’ preparation for important events in their lives, such as interviews and dates, individuals will have an opportunity to make assumptions about their responsibility and carefulness, which could be shown in their clothes and whether they arrive on time, for example. On the other hand, taking time to know someone better is highly recommended due to my opinion. The first reason is initial judgements can be influenced by stereotypes and personal bias. It is said that many people are attracted by appearance, which may prevent them from focusing on personality, knowledge and skills of their partners. Hence, this leads to inaccurate or unfair assessments. The second reason is spending time talking and sharing means allowing observation of consistent behaviors and deeper qualities. In the first meeting, there will not be enough communication and contact among participants to make them feel comfortable to fully express themselves. However, if individuals use their time to develop depth in connection, cautious gestures and speech may be replaced by the real traits of partners. To sum up, I prefer taking time to learn about someone to the first impression, which can be a factor to make some assessment about a person’s characteristics, due to its advantages in the long term. Topic: Some people think our first impression of someone is important, while others think we should not judge another person so quickly and should take our time to know them better.
