The given pie charts illustrate how old the populations were in two different countries, namely Yemen and Italy in 2000, along with predictions for the the next 50 years. Overall, it is noticeable that the population of Yemen was mostly people aged 0 to 59, with consistently remaining the most significant for the next 5 decades. Meanwhile, the number of citizens aged 15-59 in Italy was higher than that of people aged over 60. However, the figure for the oldest people in Italy is expected to be greater than other age groups in 2050. In Yemen, the age of people in the age bracket of 0-14 and 15-59 made up the majority of the total percentage of population age, accounting for 50.1% and 46.3%, respectively. Nevertheless, the percentage of individuals aged under 15 is predicted to decrease to 37%, compared to people aged 15-59, whose age is predicted to increase to 57.3% after 50 years. The figure for the oldest group were negligible, at 3.6% in 2000, followed by a slight upward trend to 5.7% in 2050. In Italy, the proportion of people between 15 and 59 was the greatest in 2000. People at the age of over 60 and under 15 just ranked below, with respective proportions of 24.1% and 14.3%. Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news. However, others believe that they can get news better through another media platform. Discuss both views and give your opinion. Many people discuss that newspapers play a vital role in adopting news. However, I also believe that social platform is a great way to update news the fastest. In this essay, I will argue some of the advantages of collecting news from social media. On the one hand, many reasons why people suppose newspapers are good ways to update news. Firstly, newspapers are only prevalent to elderly people who do not approach modern social media, which makes them consider newspapers to be the most reliable source of information. Additionally, newspapers are printed and published official source of supply for the government, therefore elderly tend to read newspapers to make sure the that news is the most accurate. Take reality example nowadays, the Ministry of Transport will only focus on writing issues about transportation in daily life, and the public readers choose to spend time with correct news instead of tabloids. On the other hand, I still support social platforms bring many benefits for readers. The first reason is that the media provides a variety of news from different fields making readers easily expand their knowledge through readings. Secondly, online newspapers will be updated constantly to make readers aware of the latest issues. For example, not only online newspapers on official websites public information but influential pages or Instagram also post on media platforms create for readers a hobby of getting information. In conclusion, while newspapers are popular for many reasons, I also believe that media platform is a good way to acquire information quickly Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news. Topic: In many countries, people now wear western-style dresses such as suits and jeans rather than traditional clothing. Why is this? Is this a positive or negative development? Solve: It is believed that individuals in various nations prefer to put on western-style attire, such as suits and jeans, over traditional clothing. There is a range of reasons for this shift, and I believe that this trend is positive. A range of factors are responsible for the development in this shift. One of the primary reasons is globalization and cultural exchange. Firstly, living in the integration era parallels the flourishing of technology and social media which is why people can easily approach different cultures and fashion trends in the world. Moreover, Western-fashion has played a crucial role in shaping clothing preferences, including Vietnam. For instance, many fashionistas have caused a sensation and a radical approach in the global fashion industry, such as Chau Bui, Decao, Quynh Anh Shyn,... With their impacts, people prefer to imitate, leading to the rise in popularity of western clothing, especially among the younger generation. In my opinion, this situation represents a positive development. It is undeniable that chasing Western-fashion trends is advantageous. This has led to economic growth and created job opportunities, such as designers, shopkeepers, preventing mass unemployment. Another reason for welcoming western-style clothing is that its practically and comfort. For example, in Vietnam, the younger generation often prefers wearing jeans and t-shirts for their daily activities, as it allows them to move freely and comfortably. Even for busy individuals, time management is a significant challenge, opting for suits or jeans is a great solution when they have two or three occasions within the same day. Traditional attire is not practical for daily activities, it is only suitable for special occasions and traditional festivals. In terms of embracing Western trends, individuals also need to be noted. The excessive pursuit of trends can lead to the loss of national identity. It is essential to strike a balance between modern styles and traditions to mitigate the negative impacts on the fashion industry and community aspects such as culture and economy. In conclusion, the trend of wearing western-style dresses is due to the influence of globalization and popular culture. While there are some detriments to this trend, I believe it can also have more benefits to satisfy personal needs Topic: In many countries, people now wear western-style dresses such as suits and jeans rather than traditional clothing. Topic: More and more people today are spending large amounts of money on their complexions in order to look younger. Why do people want to look younger? Do you think this is a positive or negative progression? In this day and age, there has been an increasing rate of people spending plenty of money on complexion treatments. This phenomena can be attributed to two reasons in terms of boosting their individual's appearance and gaining more career opportunities. However, from my perspective, I completely believe its drawbacks are more significant as it affects people's health and consumes a lot of money. On the one hand, people are willing to invest a large amount of money to look younger because of two reasons. The foremost reason is the fact that these products can boost people’s look, enhancing their attractiveness and confidence. As a result, they will have more opportunities in starting a romantic relationship or remain physically attractive to their partners. Additionally, the great appearance plays an essential role in many jobs so that people can stand a higher chance of their occupation. To be more specific, in some fields including hospitality, business and so on, having an attractive look can play a factor in reaching higher positions and improving their standard of living. On the other hand, in my point of view, I completely hold the view that this is a disadvantage development owing to its’ ability to impact on a person's health and finances. First of all, many low-quality products can have an enormous impact on individuals’ health. To begin with, many articles have reported on cases where users had to experience many undesirable effects. Some of them suffered from multitudes of symptoms such as rashes, breakout or even skin tissue damages, leading to hospitalization. The next concern relating to this is its ability to create financial pressure for consumers. To purchase these skin-care products, people are willing to allocate generously money on them, which might make people fall into debt or lack of resources in investment for their future. In conclusion, the reasons for the tendency of people who want to become younger can be answered by two factors, including the desire to boost their appearance and have career prospects. However, I believe this is a negative development as its influence on people’s health and money management. Topic: The use of social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, is replacing face-to-face contact in everyday life. Do you think the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? It is true that people have used social media platforms instead of direct contact in recent years. Although doing this has several disadvantages, the benefits may be far more significant. On the one hand, there can be some minor disadvantages of the social media network. One possible issue is that social media platforms can make users concerned about privacy and security. The reason is that many websites require users to provide their personal data. As a result, users may be subject to targeted advertising, data breaches, and potential misuse of their personal information. Nevertheless, the fact that people use social media for direct contact can have major advantages which overshadow these negative impacts. The most obvious benefit could be that using social media can help people connect their relationships across distances. This is because some social media platforms that people have been using in recent years, like Facebook and Twitter, allow people to communicate with their friends and family regardless of their geographical location, thereby maintaining their relationships and staying updated on each other’s lives, even when physically separated. The second merit is that using social media can help people release stress after many working or learning hours. For instance, when they have free time, they can watch the reels of their friends or some comedy videos to relax, which helps them feel comfortable after working and learning. In conclusion, despite the potential downsides of the use of social media platforms in recent years, the beneficial effects brought about are of greater importance. Many people opine that the affluence of the regional economy serves as an optimal strategy to combat poor living conditions. While others believe that this has many unfavorable implications on the environment. This essay will elaborate on both perceptions and also provide my own viewpoint. On the one hand, it is acknowledged that the prosperous economy has many beneficial impacts on miserable individuals, as it escalates overall living standards among them. By doing so, this formulates occupational opportunities due to the need of the labor workforce, thereby mitigating an immense amount of the unemployed. The prime illustration of this is that in an industrial sector, an apparent quantity of blue-collar workers is associated with economic growth in order to create products for the demand of society. Furthermore, another advantage is that many developmental efforts put in increasing medical fields and welfare, facilitating impoverished people to approach. As a result, this contributes substantially to the increased generall well-being, especially for miserable children. On the other hand, while this has many merits in aiding a better life, the growth of the economy also has some repercussions on the ecological state. In terms of tourism sectors, the increased garbage is associated with promoting the culture of travelling, as many non-native visitors tend to behave terribly. Consequently, the prolonged state of this phenomenon may turn into a severe concern for the environment. For instance, in Thailand, the country has faced many environmental issues because of the escalated overseas tourists travelling each year. In my opinion, while this measure is necessary to address the presence of the redundancy of the homeless and the impoverished, many restricitions and policies should be taken into consideration. To be more precise, implementing harsh punishments in case the travellers compromissing the enviroment, while applying renewable energy into industrial sectors. To conclude, economic growth can undoubtedly alleviate poverty and improve living conditions; however, we must also address its negative impacts on the environment. It is imperative that measures are taken to ensure sustainable development practices are implemented alongside economic expansion efforts. Many people opine that the affluence of the regional economy serves as an optimal strategy to combat poor living conditions. Some people suggest that the government should spend money putting more works of art like paintings and statues into towns and cities to make them attractive places To what extent do you agree or disagree? It is asserted that the government should invest the national budget in locating an increasing number of artworks like paintings and statues inside metropolises to make them appealing destinations. This essay will elaborate on several reasons why I completely agree with this notion. The foremost reason supporting my argument is that putting more works of art into towns and cities to attract visitors might be beneficial to the local people. More precisely, valuable works of art, such as pictures and statues could be appealing to various tourists who desire to have more insights into historical and architectural values of regions. As a result, tourism can provide local people with many employment opportunities like tourist guides, history presenters, etc, thus making a handsome profit, ultimately improving their quality of life. An additional reason in favor of my view is that this policy can be positive to national development. In fact, a great number of foreigners who are insterested in historical and architectural values are believed to visit the cities and towns, thereby increasing the overall revenue of national tourism. This is exemplified by the fact that Statue of Liberty, located in the center of New York city, has risen the USA’s revenue to over 100 million USD per year by attracting a range of visitors, thus contributing to national development. In conclusion, I advocate that allocating national expenditure in putting artworks inside cities and towns should be encouraged, given that this policy might supply occupations for local people and make a substantial contribution to the nation as well. Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? Several professors consider that students should be taught a second language at elementary school instead of secondary school. Although this inclination is believed to have certain negative aspects, I believe they are overshadowed by the positive counterparts. On the one hand, one of the major drawbacks of teaching language at primary school is that it would overtake children's leisure time. More precisely, extracurricular activities are believed to play a key role in developing children's social development at a young age. Therefore, learning an additional language would reduce their free time spent on social activities like sports, teamworking, thus isolating them from society. On the other hand, I argue that this drawback is outweighed by the benefits. Initially, early linguistic education might be beneficial to improvement of children's intelligence. More precisely, language is considered to be pivotal to stimulate both of human hemispheres, thereby equally enhancing logical thinking and creativity at an early stage. Furthermore, studying a language at elementary school might be beneficial to children's personalities. For instance, primary school students can become more sociable when studying English, given that language can make it easier for them to engage in conversation with foreigners, thereby having an advantageous impact on their personalities. In conclusion, although some experts advocate that students should learn a foreign language when entering secondary school for the sake of their free time on other extracurriculum activities, I support that learning a second language at primary school bring more benefits, as it is advantageous to children's brains and behaviors. Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? Sev... Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes (for example working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children). To what extent do you agree or disagree? Several individuals assert that voluntary services, such as charity, improving neighborhood and teaching sports to younger children should be required in high school's curriculum. This essay will elaborate on several reasons why I completely agree with this notion. The foremost reason supporting my argument is that volunteering activities can be beneficial to developing students' soft skills and personalities. Initially, being volunteers might require cooperation in groups to complete the tasks. As a result, students can make it easier to engage in conversations with other members, thus enhancing their communication skills, teamwork skills, etc. Furthermore, some unpaid public services might be a great method for students to become more sympathetic. For instance, when working for a charity in orphanages, students are believed to understand the difficulty of parentless children, thereby kindling their sympathy, ultimately having a positive impact on their personalities. An additional reason in favor of my view is that performing voluntary service might be advantageous to students' healths. First and foremost, this trend can have a positive effect on physical health. Specifically, when teaching sports to younger children, they could spend a greater amount of time on taking part in physical activities, which can be an effective way to stay in shape. Moreover, several public services like improving the neighborhood can bring a multitude of opportunities for students to enjoy the fresh air and lift their mood after classes during school. For example, planting trees in surrounding areas would enable them to be friendly to nature, thereby improving their mental health. In conclusion, I advocate that unpaid community service should be a mandatory part of learning programs at high school for the sake of improving social skills and behaviors. Additionally, volunteering could enhance students' health both physically and mentally. As a part of their education, students should spend a period of time living in another country to learn its language and culture. To what extent do you agree or disagree? In this day and age, with the emergency of culture exchange, language is a bridge to tighten countries together. Some individuals suppose that the best approach to master a language is to live in this country for a certain time. From my point of view, I cannot entirely concur with this perspective in some instances. Undeniably, living in the country where you are learning language is a golden opportunity to enhance your life experience and linguistic ability. Compared to reading magazines or watching videos, by which learners can have chances to experience the culture and have daily conversation with indigenous people. These help students not only sharpen their influence, but also pick up a new vocabulary in various contexts. For instance, one of the most notorious Vietnamese youtuber - Chao, she used to admit that her English skills were boosted drastically as she lived with her New Zealand roommates during her studying abroad process. On the other hand, I still argue that spending time living in another nation to learn its language and culture has several drawbacks for everyone, especially people who are insufficient in living conditions. Going abroad requires learners to allocate a large amount of budget for flying tickets, accommodation costs, tuition fee,.. It is extravagant compared to the average standard of living in Vietnam, especially for students who live in isolated areas. Subsequently, language barriers and cultural shocks are unavoidable in the first time studying overseas. As a result, the process of absorbing a foreign language takes students a certain amount of time to familiarize themselves, and practice every day, irrespective of their language ability. After only a few months of trial and error, individuals who are persistent enough can overcome language difficulties and confidently pursue more knowledge of cultures and traditions. In conclusion, notwithstanding the disadvantages of learning language by moving to this country, I consider that this field play a pivotal role in our contemporary life As a part of their education, students should spend a period of time living in another country to learn its language and culture.
