Some people think that nuclear energy is better than other sources of power for meeting ever-increasing global need. To what extent do you agree or disagree? ——————————————— It is undeniable that the population is significantly increasing, so the need for several sources of energy is growing. Many people argue that other sources of energy are not better than nuclear power. I am of that opinion that there is still a safer source of power. On the one hand, nuclear power can create a permanent source of power. To be more specific, the ways to produce nuclear energy do not contain coals, gases so there are not any toxic fumes released to the environment. Moreover, when people create nuclear energy, they do not make up many areas and it would prevent possible deforestation and pave the way for economical development. On the other hand, nuclear power can cause serious damage to the environment. For more illustration, if the scientists do not carefully handle the nuclear chemicals that they use in the process, both people and the environment can be harmed by those chemicals. For example, the Chernobyl nuclear explosion is the most serious happening in the 20th century, and the consequence is still continuing to these days such as the land cannot cultivate, the water from nearby rivers cannot drink or the residents cannot live around that areas. Besides, There are more safer sources of energy, for instance, renewable energy. Instead of Uranium, this source of power use wind, water or solar. This source of energy is endless and safe, people can use this energy without worrying about the toxic chemicals. In conclusion, while there are many benefits of using nuclear power, I still believe that there are more beneficial sources of power such as clean energy from nature because it is safe for users. Some people think that nuclear energy is better than other sources of power for meeting ever-increasing global need. Question: Some people believe that sport has an important role in society. Others, however, think that it is nothing more than a leisure activity for some people. Discuss both views and give your opinion. Many people believe that sport plays an especially essential role in social development, whereas others believe that it does not offer any advantages than entertainment. This essay will first closely clarify both points of view before concluding that I argue with the former. On the one hand, it is understandable why some people think sport activities are just a form of pastime. The key rationale in favor of this notion is that sportsmen could be outstanding and gifted to become a sport professional. Nowaday, many people spend most of their time playing sports after a long day working to reduce stress and enhance their physical health. Therefore, people take into consideration these sports as a relaxing activity. People who play football every week, for example, could release their negative energy and build their stronger muscle system. Considering these, the idea of considering sport as a leisure is justifiable. On the other hand, I am convinced that sport not only brings entertainment but also plays an especially important role for both individuals and society. This is because it helps players improve their Olympic ideals. Those who immerse in their favorite sports always try their best to gain certain achievements or simply become the most professional. Furthermore, playing sports in teams offers people to get on with new people who have the same interest, lead to expanding their social relationships. In conclusion, while there are justifications that sport is a reasonable leisure activity, I would contend that sport could bring more value than such entertainment. Question: The best way to solve the world’s environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Many people believe that raising petrol prices for transportation is the most efficient measure to tackle the environmental issues in the world. While I acknowledge the reasons behind this thinking, I would argue that the authorities could introduce many solutions that offer more suitable results. On the one hand, it is understandable why some people believe the environment will be considerably improved due to a sharp rise in petrol prices. The government decides to raise tax on fuel cost lead to reduce the number of transport. Those who own vehicles, for instance, would take into consideration using public transport to minimize cost. Besides, trading goods would be transported by railway system rather than trucks. These actions would cut down on emission from vehicles and help limit global warming and other consequences like acid rain and the greenhouse effect. On the other hand, I am convinced that increasing prices of petrol is just a stopgap measure, the national and local authorities should adopt more practical policies to comprehensively solve this problem. Firstly, the government should allocate resources to upgrade and expand public transport infrastructure to help moving in the city become more convenient. Thus, people tend to use it instead of private cars to avoid congestion and the emissions could also significantly decrease. Secondly, it is essential to enhance the use of electric vehicles instead of such petrol transportations. For example, the development of new friendly-environmentally electric motorbikes and cars help reduce the amount of petrol consumption and become a sustainable measure with the environment conservation. In conclusion, while there are justifications that rising petrol prices could positively impact on our habitat, I would contend that other solutions would offer long-lasting efficiency. The bar chart below shows shares of expenditures for five major categories in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan in the year 2009. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Essay The bar graph displays the proportions of expenditures on five significant purposes in four distinct countries in 2009. Overall, in 2009, food, accommodation and transport accounted for the largest amount of spending, whereas healthcare constituted the smallest proportion. In the United States, it can be seen in the graph that 26% of the American budget, the highest figure among the four nations, was spent on accommodation, followed by transportation at 19% and food at 14%. In contrast, healthcare expenditures constituted 8%, doubling that of fashion. In Canada, citizens allocated 21% of their financial resources to housing, while transportation came in a close second at 20%. Additionally, food accounted for 15%, while medical care and clothing occupied more or less a third of that level. Moving to shares of expenditures in the United Kingdom, 24% of the UK’s spending went to housing, 21% to food, and 15% to transportation. Health care and fashion funds were marginal at 2% and 5% respectively, similar to two previous countries. Meanwhile, the Japanese allotted the majority of their money to food at 23%, making this country the top in this category. This was closely followed by accommodation, at 22%, while the other categories registered much lower shares, specifically 10% for transportation, and 5% for medical care and fashion. show less The bar chart below shows shares of expenditures for five major categories in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan in the year 2009. The bar chart illustrates the yearly income for doctors and other occupations in seven countries, including France, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, and the US, in 2004. Overall, it was obvious that doctors make more money than the other workers. In addition, the salary of both doctors and other workers in the US was higher than in all the examined countries. As regards doctors’ annual salaries, the US ranked first at 120.000 USD, while the opposite was true for Finland, with a figure of only about 50.000 USD. Moreover, doctors in Switzerland and France shared the same pay at approximately 70.000 USD, compared with over slightly 60.000 USD in Germany and Czech Republic. Finally, exactly 60.000 USD was paid for doctors per year in Italy. By comparison, the income per year for the other jobs was lower than that of doctors. Other workers in the US earned around 45.000 USD, followed by Switzerland and France with 40.000 USD and 30.000 USD, respectively. Following this, 25.000 USD was the salary of other workers in Finland. Some people think that a good health is very important should not be run by profit-making companies. Do the advantages of private healthcare outweigh the disadvantages? ————————————————————— Good health is crucial to individuals’ life, so many people argue that it should not be managed by organizations which want to make profit. Although there are several controversies, I totally believe that the positive impacts are bigger than the negative ones. On the one hand, there are some disadvantages about private healthcare runned by profit-making companies that makes people think they waste their money having several additional tests. To be more specific, many private healthcare places often give unnecessary health tests for their patients or force the illness to buy healthcare center’s medicine to earn money. Patients do not know about the tests or the medicine can cost them a lot of money, but their health does not improve positively. Consequently, those private healthcare can make profits from the illness without taking care of their patient’s health. On the other hand, in my opinion, private healthcare centers have higher qualities of service and personal experience. For more illustration, because of the high prices, patients can be looked after carefully and treated with many modern facilities, especially for people who have serious illnesses such as cancer. For example, the patients can be cured with the technology that often lacks in normal hospitals, so they can be treated carefully by best devices and skillful doctors. Moreover, instead of waiting in a long queue in public hospitals, they can reduce time for waiting and take care fast by the nurses and doctors. In conclusion, in spite of some negative effects on having unnecessary tests in private healthcare systems, I hold the opinion that those health centers cure and care of their patients with many high qualified facilities, which may reduce the patients’ levels of illness. Some people think that a good health is very important should not be run by profit-making companies. Question: Some people think that children should begin their education at a very early age. Some think they should begin at least 7 years old. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Nowadays, many people believe that their children should be exposed to the educational environment as soon as possible, whereas others believe that the students should only start their curriculums after 7 years old. This essay will first closely clarify both views before concluding that I agree with the latter view. On the one hand, it is understandable why some people believe there are numerous advantages to give children education early. The key rationale in favor of this notion is that in formative years, children could easily absorb new knowledge and develop their talent. For instance, many parents tend to encourage their girls or boys to learn logical math and art subjects. Therefore, these children become more smart, curious and creative than others. Considering these, the idea of educating the children when they were young is justifiable. On the other hand, I am convinced that children should be naturally developed up to the age of 7. This is because the children at too young age need more time to perfect their brain, muscle and bone systems. If they have to approach too many strange things, they will be overloaded, which can be detrimental to both their mental and physical health. Children are forced to learn more than two languages at the same time is a typical case, which makes them have language disorders when they grow up. In conclusion, while there are justifications that children should be educated at a very young age, I would contend that they need to improve comprehensively before beginning the education. The chart illustrates how recycling centers collected waste of paper, glass, tins and garden between 2011 and 2015. Overall, there was an increase in the amount of waste collected in all categories examined, with the most significant rise being seen in the figure for paper. Despite that, the garden consistently had the lowest figure throughout the period. The amount of paper waste started at 57 tons in 2011 after which it experienced a dramatically decrease to 40 tons in 2013 and soared to 70 tons at the end of the period. In 2011, 48 tons of glass waste collected by recycling centers, with a subsequent slight drop to 41 tons in 2012 and mildly rose to 46 tons in 2013 and remained the same in 2014, and the final continuous increase to 52 tons. The tins of waste collection was at 35 tons and sharply declined to 27 tons in 2012, followed by a gradual increase to 39 tons three years later. The figure for garden waste collection decreased a half at the beginning of the period to 15 tons and fluctuated remarkably in 2013 and 2014, before ending the period at 35 tons of waste. Some people think that individuals today are more dependent on each other. Others believe people have become more independent. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. ———————— There are conflicting opinions as to whether humans should be reliant on others instead of living independently. In my opinion, although living reliant on others can live more easily, living without dependency is still more than the drawback. It is true that living relies on others, which can reduce the difficulty of living expenditures. This means that people can save some money to do other important things. For example, those who are married still choose to live with their parents to save on housing-cost when they do not have enough money to buy their own house. If the married people do not live dependent on their family, it will be hard to have an abundant life. Instead of living independently that may not save a lot of money to do many things, it seems reasonable that many people choose to live reliant on their family. However, others who choose living self-reliance can develop their personal development. When people start to live independently, they can self-learn many ways to take care of themselves and improve their soft skills. Research has generally shown that 85% students went to school while working in part-time jobs to cover their life, which usually have more social knowledge and also find a potential job even before graduating. With learning many ways to live independently, they can avoid taking advantage of the bad people. Therefore, people nowadays want to improve life skills to protect themself rather than depend on others. In conclusion, while living dependent on others is definitely a big money saver, it is evident that living self-reliance could enhance the soft skills by self-learning in their social life. Some people think that individuals today are more dependent on each other. Others believe people have become more independent. Nhờ thầy cô sửa giúp em bài viết này ạ. In what ways are social networks helpful for your study?
Social networks and technology have revolutionized the way we teach and study. First and foremost, social media proves to be an endless source of regularly updated information that can be accessed via a simple click of a mouse. For example, there is an array of English newspapers and magazines such as The Guardian, The Economist, and so on. In this fashion, learners can be provided with trending news happening worldwide and hot debates, contributing to one's enhancing cognitive and life skills, and honing one's critical thinking, which would be extremely vital in their later lives. Secondly, a wide variety of educational sites are readily available on the Internet, where the majority of lessons are not only free but also beneficial for learners. A fine example of such sites is Coursera, a massive provider of Internet-based courses, the majority of which are free and helpful towards learners. In addition, social media makes education more dynamic and adaptable to the demands of the modern world. To be more specific, teachers also benefit by using interactive apps and online platforms to create engaging presentations and quizzes. Last but not least, social media platforms pave the way for remote learning, ensuring that education continues even when students cannot be in the classroom. This flexibility is especially critical in time of the Covid-19 Pandemic, during which time schools and factories were closed down due to the lethal virus. So individuals can opt for online learning in their own home and at their own pace. In conclusion, social networks in education not only expand learning opportunities but also make education more dynamic and continuous. Some students prefer to take a gap year between high school and university, to work or to travel. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? There has been much controversy about whether some students in recent years tend to take a year-long break after high school graduation that have more benefits and drawbacks. In my opinion, this trend is more disadvantageous. On the one hand, it is understandable why some people think that taking a gap year is detrimental. One clear disadvantage of it is that it can lead to loss of confidence. The reason is because students can face a peer pressure, they always feel behind in terms of age and learning. Additionally, high school seniors can lose their momentum, finding it hard to continue. For instance, when they take a gap year that is too long, they do not have any motivation to push them come back, everything in front their eyes are spacious and they do not know how to begin with an intense school schedule. This drawback may pose a challenge for students who want to cultivate relevant job skills during the gap year. It is noticeable that most high school seniors graduate, there is a lack of work experience and professional qualifications, and they may end up doing low-paying jobs. On the other hand, I believe there are stronger benefits to delaying tertiary education for a one year. One advantage is that it provides them with more experiences, life skills and soft skills. This is because gap-year affords a new graduated time to travel, immerse themselves in various cultures in the world, which helps them enrich their life experiences and hone practical skills. Such a benefit is especially important for identifying their interests and a suitable career path. The fact is that many schools in Vietnam do not offer workshops aimed at career orientation or attending vocational training courses. They find it challenging to explore their personalities, hobbies, and interests to make a good choice in just a few months. It is quite difficult for students when they need to balance their studies and their orientation. In conclusion, while taking a gap year is not without certain benefits, I would contend that the given disadvantages do not make it a worthwhile path. Some students prefer to take a gap year between high school and university, to work or to travel. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages? Topic: Some people think that the main influence on young people's diet is advertising rather than family and friends. To what extent do you agree or disagree? In modern times, some inhabitants believe that the prime influence on young people's diet is advertising rather than family and friends.Personally, I assume that family and friends are more pivotal than advertising on young denizens' diets. There are some reasons to explain that young people's diets are impacted by advertising on social media or TV programs. Initially, young residents watch advertising on TV and they are affected by mouth-watering meals, such as candies, ice creams, and French fries. Hence, they desire to apply these meals to their diets. For example, the rate of obesity in children grows from strength to strength across the globe in light of advertising. Secondly, some influencers review new food, which is a stepping stone for young people’s curiosity in terms of this food. To illustrate, some meals become far-reaching, and citizens want to try eating them because some celebrities reviewed these meals. There are some more persuasive arguments that family and friends direct youngsters' diet immediately through their traditional meals and time eating out together. Initially, when the youngsters were infants, they were likely to eat some meals through their parents. Therefore, they were familiar with these meals and could not change their taste. Take exchange students as an example, they invariably miss traditional food in their hometown, and they spend a huge amount of time on adapting new cultures. Secondly, people eat out with their friends who have common meals in restaurants or food courts. Gradually, they also establish eating habits. To be specific, many groups are set up because they have the same eating hobby. In conclusion, the implications of young people's diet stem from both advertising and family and friends. Nevertheless, family and friends have greater importance. Topic: Some people think that the main influence on young people's diet is advertising rather than family and friends. Nowadays celebrities earn more money than politicians. What are the reasons for this? Is it a positive or negative development? --------------------------------------------- Since the modern era started, the status of renowned people have changed, for which celebrities have earned higher incomes compared to politicians. Although this advance generally has no significant negative impacts on our society these days, the future will. Based on the status quo, do viewers enthuse on entertainment programmes more than on political counterparts do. It is apparent that TV shows such as comedy or reality games greatly make their name for attracting watchers, which brings about the well-known statement for celebrities. By contrast, because of its profound knowledge, politics might not deem to be a heated debate to all subjects. Hence, reasonably, the less prevalent they get, the lower income they get. On the other hand, although this development, at the moment, does not seem to leave any detrimental impacts on society, it might risk the upcoming era. Status of the politicians, in some ways, reflects the society. Therefore, the phenomenon of not being enthusiastic in this field might lead to an irreversible lack of highly evaluating the importance of it. Consequently, becoming politicians is not going to be a hot tendency among young people which accounts for the human resources in the educational field of the countries might be in shortage. To belabor the point, rising entertaining purposes is the main cause of the status replacement of two figures: celebrities and politicians, which explains the disparity in earnings. Moreover, as long as the existence of this status quo is still, the risk for the future will still be in greatly unforeseen and tremendous negative impacts. Nowadays celebrities earn more money than politicians. What are the reasons for this? Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. answer: In the contemporary world, it is believed that there are many chances for people, which means they have to choose the best for them in all aspects. I totally agree with this statement and this essay will highlight several choices, thanks to the development of our society. It is obvious that accommodation and jobs have captured the public's interest for a long time. Regarding life in cities and rural areas, there are many distinctions of accommodation. For example, many people who are in the hope of higher living standards would tend to live in metropolises because of the development of better services and welfare. In recent years, in many countries, budget allocations for healthcare and infrastructure in large cities have been extended, leading to a better life for inhabitants. By contrast, counter-urbanization has also occurred for a long time, due to overpopulation in metropolises. Therefore, people have to choose the best place for them to settle in. In addition, job networking is also a concrete factor that people can pay attention to. It is ubiquitous that most staff nowadays want to apply for a job with high wage, good welfare and promotion, so they will choose an appropriate agency in order to meet their demands. In terms of the society scale, there are a variety of ways that everyone could contribute to our society. Firstly, people can help disadvantaged individuals if they donate supplies or participate in charity campaigns. For instance, it is not uncommon that a number of charity organizations have been established, which means impoverished people can have a better life. Secondly, to join in environmental conservation, inhabitants can do several household solutions or participate in green movements. Annually, in Vietnam, “We Cycle” are organised to engage people to recycle and reduce plastic consumption. Moreover, it has been investigated that there has been a reduction in soil pollution, thanks to the restriction of undecomposed trash and cleaning detergents in households. In conclusion, among plenty of choices in life, people can choose the best one relying on their standard, hence it leads to a higher living standard and helps them to meet their basic needs. The line graph highlights the information about the percentage of people aged 65 and over in three distinct countries, namely Japan, Sweden, and the USA from 1940 to 2040. From an overall perspective, what stands out from the graph is that all three countries witness a gradual increase throughout the period. Another striking thing is that the figure for Japan is the lowest for most of the studied period. Turning to the details, in 1940, Japan had the smallest proportion of elderly individuals at 5%, in comparison to about 7% and 9% in Sweden and the USA, respectively.
