The graphs below show the percentage of graduates that got full-time jobs after graduating from a university in Australia, and the average salary of both these types of graduates, from 2004 to 2012. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. The line graph illustrates the proportion of two types of graduates that landed full-time jobs after graduating from a specific Australian university, while the table depicts the average earnings of both these types of graduates, between 2004 and 2012. Overall, most categories saw an upward trend, while the percentage of math graduates working as full-time employees had a reverse pattern over the given period. Another interesting point is that the total average salary of math graduates was more than that of other graduates. Regarding the percentage of full-time workers holding a university degree, other graduates' proportion was approximately 65% in 2004 and then increased rapidly before reaching a record high of nearly 90% in 2006. Subsequently, the figure declined steadily to about 70% in 2012. The proportion of full-time workers who had a math degree was exactly 80% in 2004 and then it rose gradually to reach a high peak at about 85% in 2008, which is the same as that of other graduates. After that, the figure reduced moderately to under 80% in 2012. In terms of the average yearly amount of these types, both math graduates and other graduates achieved $41,000 in average salary and the figures increased rapidly to $43,000 in 2006. Then the average earnings of math graduates and other graduates continued to soar to $56,000 and $51,000 in 2012, respectively. In many countries, the quality of life in large cities is becoming worse. What do you think are the causes of this problem? What measures could be taken to solve it? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. It is asserted that in many parts of the world, people are suffering from the lower standard of living in the metropolises. This essay attempts to bring the driven reasons to the light before enunciating several viable solutions. The overpopulation can be viewed as the prime reason for these problems, leading to environmental pollution. In fact, a huge amount of population can result in the overconsumption of fossil fuels, such as gas, coal and oil, which can have a deleterious effect on the surrounding habitats. To elaborate, a recent research shows that the air pollution rate is witnessed the record soar in 2024 compared to the previous years. Moreover, the unemployment rate arising from these issues starts to increase as the job markets can be exceedingly competitive by dint of the superabundance of the workforces. If fhere are myriad people, who cannot be able to seek for a paid occupation, they may engagae in social evils, particularly drug and prostitutions, making the entire society at the peril status. Therefore, the most feasible approach is to launch a worldwide family planning movement. This will help to restrict the population at a particular level, thereby alleviating the overall contamination by virtue of less consumption of powers and minerals. Another essential method is that the authorities ought, not only to allocate the national budget for the awareness campaigns which educate the inhabitants about the role of the environment, but also to expand the labour markets with the aim of higher employment proportion. For that reason, people can reach the environmental sustainability as well as curtail the delinquency tribulations. In brief, people living in urbanized areas worsen their living conditions due to the overcrowding bringing about more detrimental ecosystem and the increasing number of criminals. To perfectly address these concerns, the governmental organs have to practice birth control, organize the awareness campaigns and widen the professional opportunities for all individuals. Globalization is creating a world of one culture and destroying national identity. To what extent do you agree with this statement? National identity is being destroyed and becoming a single culture by globalization. While I can see that many national cultures vanish because of globalization, I assume that this also helps many cultures to become better known. Globalization causes the destruction and disappearance of each country's own culture. This is because each country always has its own distinct language that contributes to the beauty and the richness of its national culture. If the world becomes globalized, all nations will speak the same languages. This leads to many people rarely speaking their own languages, which can vanish. Moreover, many cultural treasures and knowledge that our ancestors passed down to us through their own language will gradually fade. Therefore, globalization causes the loss of unique cultural practices, traditions, and knowledge that are often tied to specific languages. However, the process of globalization has the potential to enhance and enrich the cultural values of each country that are unique to each country. When globalization happens, this creates many opportunities for individuals to have more chances to experience and discover many other places. They not only admire the natural beauty, but also they have a chance to experience the special culture and characteristics of this country. As a result, globalization can help introduce many cultures to more people, ensuring that each country's unique culture and values will endure. In conclusion, because of globalization, many languages are vulnerable to disappearing and have lost their unique culture and traditions. However, this allows many people to have more chances to approach and discover unique cultures, which helps many cultures to not vanish. Globalization is creating a world of one culture and destroying national identity. To what extent do you agree with this statement? WRITING TASK 1
Mong thầy cô chấm chữa và nhận xét giúp em bài writing task 1 này ạ. em cảm ơn nhiều ạ The given charts compare the total minutes spent daily on different forms of entertainment and household chores by men and women in the UK in the year 2008, measured by minutes. Overall, it is clear that males dedicated more daily time to leisure activities, while females generally spent more time on housework in 2008. Notably, both genders tended to watch TV, radio, video as well as do the cooking and washing the most. Looking first at the table, men took about 140 minutes per day to watch TV, radio, and video compared to 118 minutes spent by UK women. A much smaller amount of everyday time was dedicated to books, 18 minutes for males and 19 minutes for females respectively. Sports exercises were the least popular recreational activities, with the total time being 15 minutes for men and 11 minutes for women. Moving onto the bar chart, women in the UK devoted a considerable amount of time to cooking and washing, with nearly 80 minutes daily, far exceeding the figure for men, with about 35 minutes per day. Whilst females spent a relatively equal number of 35 minutes on shopping and clothing washing/ironing, the figures for men were noticeably different, at 10 and 22 minutes per day respectively. Repair was the household task that took up the least amount of daily time, only 20 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women. The charts illustrate the average energy usage in Australian households and the resulting greenhouse gas emissions. Overall, while heating consumes the most energy, water heating contributes the most to carbon dioxide emissions. Heating accounts for the largest share of energy consumption at 42%. In contrast, water heating uses 30% of the energy, making it the second-highest. However, the roles reverse when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions. Water heating is responsible for 32% of greenhouse gases, while heating accounts for just 15%. Refrigeration and lighting use 7% and 4% of the household energy, respectively. Remarkably, their emission rates are double their energy usage percentages. Cooling, notably, produces an equal percentage of gas emissions relative to its energy consumption. Other appliances use 15% of energy but are significant in gas emissions at 28%, the second highest after water heating. This highlights the disparity between energy use and its environmental impact in Australian households. It is observed that in many countries, not enough students are choosing to study science subjects. What are the causes? What are the effects on the society? It has been noted through surveys conducted in various countries that a significant number of students are not inclined towards pursuing science subjects. The primary reason for this trend is the demanding nature of these subjects, requiring meticulous research and accurate results. Consequently, the decreasing interest in science subjects among students may have adverse effects on the nation as a whole. There are multiple causes underlying the reluctance of students to opt for science subjects. Firstly, the intricate nature of these subjects requires a high level of precision and critical thinking skills. For instance, conducting longitudinal studies in the field of science emphasizes a deep understanding of the subject matter and the ability to analyze complex problems effectively. Therefore, the lack of interest in science subjects can be attributed to the aforementioned challenging demands they pose on students. Secondly, tedious experiments in certain science subjects, such as Quantum Physics, are indispensable. Students often have to work far into the night to conduct such experiments. The mental challenges these experiments pose often result in lack of sleep, which could further lead to poor problem-solving skills or lowered immune system function. On that account, students usually omit those science subjects in their curriculum. The deficiency in the number of students in the science subjects could further degrade a nation’s development. The consequences might include the lack of a professional workforce in specialist fields. For example, professions such as scientists and physicists are highly vital for a country to thrive. These experts’ contributions facilitate a country’s navigation towards the developed world by means of innovative inventions. The absence of these experts would significantly drag a nation’s growth. India, for example, because of the absence of students to science subjects, this country is notably short of methods to fully thrive. In conclusion, the intense requirements that the science subjects bring about are the main factor for students opting out, which could potentially lead to a retrograde nation. It is observed that in many countries, not enough students are choosing to study science subjects. What are the causes? What are the effects on the society? Đề bài Nowadays people use bicycles less as a form of transport. Why is that? What can we do to encourage people to use bicycles more? Bài làm It is true that the use of some vehicles such as bicycles is decreasing. This essay will discuss the reasons behind this phenomenon and then offer some feasible solutions to it. There are a number of factors responsible for the fact that people use bicycles less as a mode of transportation. Chief among these is that people with busy lifestyles prefer using convenient vehicles such as cars and motorbikes instead of inconvenient ones like bikes. In fact, they don’t have enough time to go to their workplaces because of the slow speed when using bicycles. Moreover, the demand for going to a lot of places, such as home, work places, schools, etc. , which requires indefatigable energy is also the main reason people deter from using bicycles. Another explanation is that the government does not concern itself with the improvement of streets used for bicycles, which leads to the lack of adequate infrastructure. An illustration for this is that some developing countries such as Laos, Viet Nam, etc., have lots of narrow roads, limited bike lanes, and inadequate cycling facilities, which can easily cause accidents with other vehicles like cars and motorbikes when people participate in traffic. As a result, this causes safety concerns among citizens that using bikes is not really secure. Various measures, nevertheless, can be adopted to tackle the situation. The first possible approach is that the government can encourage residents to use bikes by implementing policies that improve infrastructure and deduct taxes on buying bicycles. Consequently, people may consider cycling for transportation purposes. The second solution is that the government should launch education and awareness campaigns in order to introduce the advantages of using bicycles instead of using other transportations. For instance, cycling may minimize the risk of suffering from diabetes or obesity, it also provides residents with the opportunity with a healthier lifestyle. In conclusion, the fact that people tend to use convenient and fast means of transportation like cars, planes and motorbikes is increasing substantially and can stem from many causes. However, steps can be taken to ameliorate the situation. Đề bài Nowadays people use bicycles less as a form of transport. Why is that? What can we do to encourage people to use bicycles more? Topic : "Should Emphasizing Self-Discovery Take Priority Over Keeping Pace with Rapid Digital Advancements?" In the age of digital revolution, we tend to be lost amid information presented, sometimes, we are over-emphasizing the need to pace the rapidly developing world, this results in our initial personality and characteristics being lost and underprioritized. Despite the benefits of keeping on track with society, I firmly believe that understanding ourselves should be the fundamentals of life. Firstly, understanding our personality contributes to pride and self-esteem. As we can predict our capability and strength, our decision-making ability becomes precise and logical, allowing us to proceed without fearing for other's claims. Secondly, understanding our inner self is the first milestone to success. By understanding our minds, we can make accurate decisions and work efficiently. Mastering this would allow us to be ahead of anyone without working effortlessly to catch up with the modern world Last but not least, by trapping ourselves into endlessly adapting to the changing society, we lose many opportunities in life. By focusing on changing with society, we are losing our opportunities to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the population that needs to know where they are going. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, we could focus on cultivating our unique strengths and interests. In conclusion, while keeping pace with the digital age is crucial for staying relevant and informative, it is equally important to prioritize self-discovery and personal growth. By understanding our personality, values, and aspirations, we could guid ourselves to the closest route to success by avoiding an unnecessary obstacle in the way. Some people believe that it is better teaching language students in small classes. Others think the number of people in the classes does not matter. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There are some opinions say that languages classes should be taken place with a small number of students while others think that it is not a problem to study in a crowded class. From my perspective, I believe that how many individuals in class is essential to study languages. It is beneficial for students to attend a language class with a few classmates. To begin with, it may hard for teachers to come into every students’ assistance if someone is particularly in need as the number is overwhelming. This causes a problems that students having problems understanding lessons cannot capable of catching up with their classmates in later classes. As a result, students’ quality of studying and the ability to absorb knowledge will possibly be affected, causing them to be dis-motivated. This is why studying in a small language classes are better for learners. Furthermore, there is an advantage students can gain from the learning environment with a small number of classmates. Language learners tend to be shy to show their speaking ability when there are so many people looking at them when they practice speaking. To clarify, these students are afraid of being laughed at if they make mistakes, this feeling prevents them from speaking fluently as they do not dare to practice. However, this situation can be improved if there are only a few people around them because these students can feel more relieved and comfortable to speak. In conclusion, I agree that small classes are more superior than big classes when it comes to studying languages. Teachers can pay more attention to each student also students themselves feel more comfortable to practice speaking in that environment. There are some opinions say that languages classes should be taken place with a small number of students while others think that it is not a problem to study in a crowded class. Many people believe that music is just a form of entertainment, whilst others believe that music has a much larger impact on society today. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. It is true that the question of whether music solely should be a form of entertainment or plays a more significant role in recent society remains a source of controversy. The following essay will discuss both views and give my own opinion in favour of the latter viewpoint. On the one hand , the proponents of the idea that music should only be for entertainment highlight the inherent nature of music as a form of relaxation and stress relief. Music serves as a valuable tool for people to relax and recharge after an exhausting day with heavy workload in order for them continue to focus working again with high level of productivity. Listening to music can offer a temporary respite from the stresses of daily life , including the pressure of work , social relationships and other responsibilites , enhancing personal mental heath. Therefore , it is necessary for music to fulfill its role in helping people to escapte from reality and be entertained. On the other hand , music has been recognized for its effectiveness in treating mental health issues. For example, in countless research papers , patients suffering from depression and anxiety have shown significant improvement when exposing to gentle rhythm and melody , helping to alleviate stress and enhance emotional well-being. Therefore, the therapeutic benefits of music illustrate its profound impact on individual health and, by extension, society at large. The argument in favor of this notion is further fortified by the fact that music has the unique ability to convey powerful messages and emotions, which can influence societal attitudes and behaviors. For instance, the song "Legends Never Die" and a classic World Cup song named "We Are Champions" emphasize perseverance and encourage people to persist in pursuing their goals. In this way , this inspirational message inspire and motivate them to strive for success and overcome obstacles in the journey to success. In conclusion , although both views certainly have validity , it seem to me that it is better to recognize the profound impact of music on society. Many people believe that music is just a form of entertainment, whilst others believe that music has a much larger impact on society today. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. It is true... Topic: It is said that the amount of violence on TV programmes has negative effects on our social development and therefore should be reduced. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? The assertion that televised violence negatively impacts social development is a point of significant contention. I firmly believe this influence is detrimental, necessitating a reduction in such content. The ensuing discussion will evaluate the psychological effects on viewers and the broader societal consequences. The psychological imprint of televised violence on individuals, particularly young viewers, is profound. Research by the American Psychological Association indicates that regular exposure to media violence heightens aggression by modelling inappropriate behaviours as acceptable in conflict resolution. For instance, children who frequently watch violent shows are more likely to exhibit aggressive tendencies and reduced empathy. These effects are not fleeting but have the potential to embed long-term behavioural patterns, disrupting emotional development and social interactions. Such findings underscore the need for stringent content regulation to safeguard mental health and promote positive social behaviours. On a societal level, the pervasiveness of violence on television cultivates a culture of fear and aggression. Sociological studies illustrate a correlation between high rates of media violence consumption and societal violence, suggesting that televised brutality not only reflects but potentially exacerbates societal issues. For example, media portrayals of violence can desensitize the population, making incidents of real-world violence seem less alarming and more acceptable. This normalization can hinder community cohesion and mutual respect, pivotal components of societal advancement. Therefore, reducing these broadcasts can contribute to a more harmonious and empathetic society, fostering environments that encourage peaceful coexistence rather than conflict. In conclusion, the adverse effects of televised violence on individual psychology and societal harmony substantiate the call for its reduction. By limiting exposure to such content, we can enhance both personal and community well-being. It is essential for media producers to prioritize societal health over sensationalism, aligning broadcasting practices with the principles of public good. The given graph depicts the data related to the number of participants engaging in distinct social activities at a central area in Melbourne, Australia between 2000 and 2020. In general, the trend from most activities showed the increasing number of participants at the end of the period with the exception for the Amateur dramatics with its decreasing number. Particularly, the engagement levels of the film club constantly remained higher compared to other activities. In details, amateur dramatics had a slight spike in members in 2005 with approximately 30 individuals. During the same period, the number of members initiated to join in musical performances and subsequently increased up to 10 in the following of 5 years. The given illustration outlines the proposed plan for the changes of a public library’s floor in two periods: 20 years ago and current time. Overall, the adjustment encompasses the replacement of some certain stores by other alternatives, the addition of facilities and the disappearance of some objects. Particularly, most of the positions have experienced at least one of these changes. In detail, from both sides of the map, it is noteworthy that the areas for children’s book storage and reading have been demolished and replaced by the lecture room and computer room. In addition, whereas the enquiry desk used for selling tickets and returning book in the last 20 years is converted to the café place in the present map, the room with digital items such as CDs, videos, and computer games is changed as well as expanded to become a room storing fiction books for children with more sofas. Furthermore, tables and chair which were placed at the centre of the library 20 years ago tend to be removed in the current plan. Conversely, self-service machines and informative desk are added between lecture room and coffee area. nowadays, as role models, famous people have an increasing influence on the young. Is it positive or negative development ? In this modernised period, celebrities are agressively regarded as a desirable person for the young generation to follow. Personally, I contend that this tendency has more positive influence rather than negative one for teenagers. On the one hand, it is strongly believed by others that the young should not revere well-knowned inhabitants as role models in their whole life. Numerous influencers follow unhealthy lifestyles, which bolster the use of banned items including tobaccos, and alcohols, whereas their followers tends to mimic their behaviours regardless of whether or not it could be illegal or acceptable in their countries. As a result, more and more patients encounter the risk of being cancer because of the poisonous ingredients in tobaccos or electronic cigarettes, and that trend also gives rise to the increase of mortality rates dramatically. If government concerns these problems and imposes more regulations to deter the export and import of these items, the number of labourers can climb noticeably and foster the development of domains which requires the endeavour and devotion of humans, especially manual jobs. On the other hand, one school of though firmly holds the view that renowned individuals are more likely to have great impact on those who lack of life experience at the young age. Idols inspire their fans to give assistance to the underprivileged who comes from the poor socio-economic background. A good example of this is Do Mixi, the noted streamer in Vietnam. When this philanthropist puts more resources into running campaigns to erect more educational institutions at mountainous areas, their advocates supported his project by donating money through online platforms as a way to contribute to the success of these programs as well as improve the qualities of life in remote areas in this developing nation. As a result, a large number of Vietnamese students have the opportunity to get exposure to education, and make the illiteracy become less common in the society. In conclusion, albeit some famous peoples promulgate the erroneous belief and badly affect the society, it is advantageous to some extent that there are some motivations and useful lessons that the celebrities want to impart to their targeted audience. It is advisable for the young to idolize in a way that is selective and carefully before taking actions to support anyone. nowadays, as role models, famous people have an increasing influence on the young.
