In western countries and Japan, the majority of working people were employed in the industry sector, with 60% in Germany, and about 55% in America and Japan in 1980. These numbers surged in 2010 when all three nations experienced a roughly 20% increase. These states were also the least focused on farming as they all had less than 10% of workers employed in this field in 2010. In the service sector, these states witnessed slight decreases of less than 10%.
China had a drastically different development compared to the rest of the nations as its industry field did not fluctuate in the two recorded years, remaining stable at 40%. Also, accessing knowledge through this book can mitigate eyesight problems, such as short-sightedness or astigmatism. Green Life’s research indicates that children are 70% more likely to suffer from short-sightedness and headaches if they acquire information through screens. However, this notion is deeply flawed given the fact that screen technologies have improved significantly by adjusting text size, brightness, and other settings to reduce eye strain.
Granted, we cannot discount the positive effects of digital books. First, this form of reading can preserve human knowledge for longer periods of time, as the risk of wear, mould, or tearing is minimal. Preserving information in this manner enables societies to pass down their civilisation and understanding to successors. The ability to search for information or historical evidence that people posted several decades ago perfectly exemplifies this statement. Also, online reading is relatively budget-friendly, reducing colossal costs, such as printing and transportation, which helps more children access education. Although this access is limited in some remote areas or certain types of equipment, its substantial advantages far outweigh these limitations.
In conclusion, it is undeniable that the tactile experience and user-friendly features of traditional materials are difficult to replicate with digital ones. However, I fervently believe that the merits of digital technology can overshadow those as technology continues to improve.

On the one hand, long working hours during weekdays negatively affects employees’ health and mental state. Firstly, the physical health of workers will undoubtedly be weakened. While blue-collar workers can face vision defects along with a number of issues associated with body functions. Heavy laborers will suffer from spine problems. For instance, a great number of Vietnamese have been recorded having issues related with either their body functions or skeletal system. Secondly, the mental health of these workers are concerning. The lack of social hours due to extensive working duration results in a plethora of mental issues, for example depression and sleep deprivation. Furthermore, too much exposure to these problems leads to detrimental body disfunctions, posing a threat to people’s lives.
On the other hand, providing an extended weekend absolutely enhances employees productivity and social connections. Evident increase in employees’ efficiency can be found in companies with prolonged off-days. Having enough time to rest helps reduce the intesensity and pressure on people’s minds, thus enhancing the speed in which they can process information later. This is similar to computers, which requires clearance of storage after a specific amount of time. Secondly, having sufficient time for social activities is instrumental. The duration that most people require for their connections ranges from 2-3 days per week. Workers who are provided with enough social time in big companies such as Google or Apple have proved enhancement in their physical and mental abilities, making them much more efficient in the working time.
In conclusion, after meticulous consideration of whether the working week should be reduced and the weekends should be extended. It emerges conspicuously that the associated beneficial impacts on
productivity and social connections are undeniably crucial. As a result, my endorsement of the proposition that prolonged weekends must be provided remains unwavering.
