The maps illustrate the modification of a riverside town following the construction of a hydroelectric dam between 1990 and 2010. Overall, the most striking transformation was the conversion of natural landscapes and historical highlights into a power infrastructure and an artificial lake. Additionally, while the original settlement pattern of villages remained largely unaltered, the area witnessed the disappearance of ecological features. In the northern part, the most remarkable change occurred with the establishment of an energy-using infrastructure and its reservoir. This development led to the removal of forests and ancient monuments on the west of the river as well as the submergence of irrigated farmlands to its eastern side. However, there was the addition of an electric grid and hotels in the west of the area. The southern region’s change was less dramatic, with additional power transmission lines built on an area that was previously occupied by a farm of rare plants and animals in the west. Meanwhile, the eastern section of this area relatively maintained the status quo, with original settlement pattern of villages throughout. The mountain ranges flanking both sides of the river also remained unchanged. Although there is a lot of translation software available, learning a language could still be advantageous. To what extent do you agree or disagree? ANSWER: The development of technology nowadays has enhanced the availability of translation applications that brings certain benefits to users. Despite this development, I hold the belief that the process of obtaining lingual knowledge is still beneficial. In this essay, I will explain why the statement is true. Admittedly, machine translations allow people to have access to various languages to understand each other more easily. Most contemporary software such as Google Translate is able to generate high-quality translations and translate texts much faster than human translators, making it a convenient option. Therefore, those who visit a new country can easily communicate with locals via automatic translated applications on their phones. Nevertheless, having a deep understanding of language is still important, albeit with modern technology. Learning a new language can help us gain insights into new cultures. For example, in the process of learning Chinese, individuals can gradually understand more about Chinese culture via their lessons. Additionally, when studying a language, we can communicate with other people confidently and easily show our emotions. We do not have to rely on translation applications, which could have inappropriate and unnatural words in daily conversations. Moreover, it is quite inconvenient when individuals must consistently stop during conversations to seek help from translation software. By becoming proficient in a language, those can respond instantly and chat more comfortably with foreigners. In conclusion, although translation applications are helpful today, learning new languages is necessary as it aids fluent communication and cultural knowledge. People can also achieve other advantages such as job promotion when mastering a language. Although there is a lot of translation software available, learning a language could still be advantageous. Nowadays, many people tend to choose cosmetic surgery as an intervention to enhance their looks. While there are many ways to explain this trend, I totally argue that it is a negative development when this method is undertaken. In many cases, often influenced by social media, people have to undergo surgery to attract partners. The role of marketing advertisement is to sell products through beauty. For example, many people take advantage of their image of beauty to advertise their products to more people, but this way is impossible for most people to achieve. Therefore, they decide to spend a considerable amount of money to have the beauty of a supermodel through cosmetic surgery. Moreover, cosmetic surgery can offer them more opportunities to gain confidence when facing others because, sometimes, they are criticised and determined through their appearance, which has a profound impact on their ego. I consider this development to be wholly negative. Firstly, the real value of beauty is measured by their characters, not physical appearance, providing and promoting a person through physical beauty is a false set of value. The beauty of a person is just performed through experience and knowledge or the value that they give to the community. Surgery is a temporary way to show outlook appearance, not the insight value of personnel. Secondly, undergoing surgery may be detrimental to health. Sometimes, all of the period surgery will bring many risks for people. For instance, according to a world survey, there is a small percentage of people who are affected by life. In Conclusion, there are many reasons to forward to this development, but I strongly disagree with using cosmetic surgery to be confident when facing with others. Nowadays, many people tend to choose cosmetic surgery as an intervention to enhance their looks. The table below shows the average weekly salaries of men and of women working in different occupations. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. ANSWER: Shown in the table are statistics for weekly compensation for men and women across five lines of work in 2015. What is most striking from the table is that men in all five professions examined earned more than their female counterparts. In addition, it was professional employees who were paid the most in a week, whereas the lowest pays belonged to blue-collar workers. As for those doing manual jobs whose payment levels were lowest, men received 1100$ per week, 250$ higher than what their female co-workers were given. In stark contrast with this, professionals of both genders were weekly salaried the most with a range of 1900-2000$. This was also the job where the smallest pay gap of 100$ between two genders was seen. Conversely, the biggest pay disparity of 500$ was witnessed among male and female technicians, still in favor of the former (1400$ compared with 900$ per week). With regards to the two remaining fields of work where workers do service and administrative tasks, a uniform chasm of 350$ was interestingly recorded between men and women’s week-based earnings, with respective figures being around 1300-1350$ for men and 950-1000$ for women. Đề bài: People who make early career decisions and follow through with them are more likely to find satisfaction in their work than those who regularly switch jobs. To what degree do you support or oppose this idea? Bài làm: It is believed that making early professional decisions and pursuing sole careers can do wonders to people’s life, whereas switching between various jobs could hinder them from finding satisfaction in their work. I totally agree with this belief and this essay will provide relevant reasons to support this statement. On the one hand, it is common that people usually search for other job opportunities when finding dissatisfaction with their current jobs. It often takes quite a time for them to prepare for a new career when struggling to fix problems occuring in the old place. For example, when workers get bored with difficulties they tackle daily at work, they would have to adjust their resumes to keep up with the labour market and a new professional job after staying at one job for so long. They would probably face problems such as disappointment, doubt with their capability and when looking to other colleagues, they can get peer pressures and even depression or other mental health problems. On the other hand, choosing and determining one passion for a career at the beginning can be an outstanding advantage for an individual in their work because it mitigates difficulties when struggling to find a job. For instance, if a student easily targets his dream job early and manages to achieve it which can save him a lot of time and money. Moreover, pursuing a career for the whole professional path can enhance an individual's ability in one specific field, which could lift one’s position to a higher level in the society. In conclusion, while switching jobs could solve short term problems such as temporary setbacks in the workplace, I absolutely support the perspective that making early career decisions and following them for the whole professional life could be a significant plus for individuals and help them settle down and find satisfaction in their work sooner. Đề bài: People who make early career decisions and follow through with them are more likely to find satisfaction in their work than those who regularly switch jobs. The line chart given illustrates fuel generation levels of three different categories of power in use in the UK over the course of 19 years, commencing from 1981. Overall, although wild fluctuations were seen in the figures for all three types of fuel examined, general trends could still be discerned / recognized: petroleum and natural gas output showed an uptrend in yields, whereas the opposite was seen in coal production. Another key feature is that petroleum volumes registered the highest levels of production throughout the period. At the beginning of the period, around 90 million tonnes of petroleum was generated for consumption in the UK. This figure then rose quite significantly to 140 million tonnes in 1984–a record high in levels–before remaining unchanged at this level in the next three years. Petroleum production subsequently dropped to the neighborhood of 100 million tonnes in 1990, followed by a progressive upswing to its initial level of 140 million tonnes at the end. Similarly, an upward progression was seen in the volume of natural gas produced in the UK, albeit with fewer up-and-down patterns. Specifically, after / following a 10-year phase of stability at 40 million tonnes, data then showed an upthrust to slightly above 100 million tonnes in 2000. Unlike petroleum and natural gas, coal exhibited an overall downward trend in terms of output, halving from an initial level of 80 million tonnes to shy of 40 million in 1984, prior to an insignificant recovery to 60 million in 1986, only to end up undergoing a steady slump to about 30 million at the end, thus becoming the least manufactured fuel in the UK. write a cause and effect essay in response to the followings: " How important is it for countries to fund research into disease?"
In today's world, the significance of funding research into disease cannot be overstated. As global health challenges continue to emerge. They directly influence public health, economic stability, and societal well-being. This essay will explore the critical reasons why countries should prioritize financial support for disease research and the effects of such investments on their populations. Firstly, funding disease research is paramount for advancing medical knowledge and developing innovative treatments. Research institutions and universities rely on financial resources to conduct clinical trials and laboratory studies that lead to breakthroughs in understanding diseases. For instance, investments in research have resulted in the development of vaccines for diseases like polio and more recently, COVID-19. These advancements not only save countless lives but also enhance the quality of life for survivors. Consequently, when countries allocate substantial funds to disease research, they pave the way for scientific progress that can eradicate or mitigate the impact of various health issues. Another crucial aspect to consider is the role of research funding in addressing health disparities. In many regions, access to healthcare and disease management options is limited. By prioritizing research, countries can develop targeted strategies that cater to vulnerable populations disproportionately affected by specific diseases. This not only promotes equity in healthcare but also ensures that advancements in medical science benefit all segments of society. For instance, research focused on tropical diseases prevalent in low-income countries can lead to the development of tailored treatments that improve health outcomes in these communities. In conclusion, the importance of funding research into disease cannot be neglected. It is essential for advancing medical knowledge, enhancing economic stability, and addressing health disparities. In today's world, the significance of funding research into disease cannot be overstated. As global health challenges continue to emerge. They directly influence public health, economic stability, and... Xem thêm
