The diagram illustrates the transformation of a piece of land over 20 years since 1980 following the construction of a hydroelectric dam. Overall, the whole place had been repurposed from a remote area into an industrial zone. Specifically, more accommodations and facilities had been developed at the cost of nature and wildlife. One of the most significant changes lay in the addition of a large lake in the centre of the area. While in 1980, this place was home to irrigated farmlands and thousands of species of flora and fauna, even with the inclusion of rare ones, the year 2000 saw the replacement of a large lake, providing opportunities for fishing and aquaculture, which benefited the national economy. Another notable feature was the erection of a hydroelectricity dam situated between two mountain ranges in the South. This shift also involved the establishment of various electrical systems to provide the necessary energy for the dam's operation. Lastly, the village that existed in the southeast of the land in 1980 was relocated to the southern corner. In its place, a hotel was built to accommodate the increase in workers and visitors. In contrast, the diverse mountains were the only component left intact. The diagram provides details about the redevelopment plan for an office building. Overall, the construction is expected to create more office spaces at the cost of nature. With the anticipated rise in the number of employees, additional buildings will be repurposed to accommodate them. One of the most significant changes will lie in the removal of grass on both sides of the building. To be specific, an open-air area will have been constructed on the West side for employees to relax and have conversations while the grass in the East is planned to be replaced with a meeting area and a coffee machine. Also, the restroom will have been downsized and relocated to the Northeastern corner. Another notable feature would be the addition of new office blocks in the north. Currently, this space functions as a food court, but in the future, except for the storeroom which will remain unchanged, the kitchen and the canteen are expected to be converted into offices to suit for increased workload Lastly, the south entrance will be moved from the east to the middle. This change will restructure the office layout, merging the four offices to the left of the current entrance into two blocks, one on each side of the future entrance. Task 2: In the future, nobody will not buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
It is predicted that since the development of technology, people have a tendency to prefer online sources over print newspapers and books. While digital reading offer numerous benefits to the public, I still emphasize the irreplaceable value of traditional printed materials for the following reasons. On the one hand, the majority of modern people prefer to use online platforms for several reasons. Firstly, these media always provide accurate and accessible information, helping individuals learn news accurately. For instance, some prominent media outlets like VTV and The BBC News have dedicated websites, ensuring instant access to news regardless of location or time which is beneficial for many individuals, especially for those who cannot afford expensive purchases. Additionally, digital books offer cost-effectiveness by eliminating printing and transportation expenses, resulting in significant savings for readers. Furthermore, the popularity of online reading encourages greater engagement with content. On the other hand, e-books have a notable drawback, which is that many people believe that they can easily tire the reader's eyes. Blue light emitted from screens on devices such as phones and laptops can cause eye fatigue and discomfort. So, reading traditional printed books continues to grow. Publishers often reserve exclusive content for their print editions, especially appealing to older readers, who can easily improve their reading skills and access valuable information. For example, consider the newspaper VN Express, which began publication in the 20th century and continues to attract a diverse readership. Recently, they cooperated with Nhan Dan newspaper to publish nearly 10,000 panoramas depicting the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, exclusively in their special issue of the newspaper, which cannot be accessed online. In conclusion, I firmly believe that maintaining a balance between forms of reading brings many beneficial values to people, especially newspapers and books that are difficult to deny. It is predicted that since the development of technology, people have a tendency to prefer online sources over print newspapers and books. While digital reading offer numerous benefits to the public,... Read more

1. Which skills do you think students need for their future? From my perspective, it would be essential if students have a chance to learn many useful/beneficial/effective/practical skills such as communication, teamwork, cooking or even leadership skills. Honestly, these will serve as a stepping stone for students to become success in their future, especially when their skills and confidence have been boosted since they were young. 2. How can schools help students to master necessary skills for their future career? In my opinion, schools should organize extracurricular activities for students to practice their knowledge, especially students who dream of becoming designers or teachers. Take Singapore as an example, children in the capital are famous for their ability to cook or weave when they are just in kindergarten. Unfortunately, students still have to deal with tons of homework and assignments so I hope the school will come up with some effective strategies to help learners maintain a balance between their study and entertainment. 1. Prompt: Differences between countries become less evident each year. Nowadays all over the world, people share the same fashions, advertising, brands, eating habits, TV channels. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh disadvantages? Globalization has led to the alleviation of differences among countries. Not only do people nowadays possess similar interests when it comes to various fields like fashion, cuisines but they also share the same social platforms and TV programmes. Although this trend offers several benefits, I truly believe the drawbacks would be more considerable. On the one hand, a country can derive remarkable advantages when partaking in globalization progress, such as economic growth and cultural exchange between nations. To be more specific, thanks to the Open door policy, Nike - a fashion brand, is capable of constructing stores and factories in Vietnam, paving the way for employment generation and foreign investment. Moreover, the ubiquity of social media worldwide has created valuable opportunities for foreigners to gain more in-depth understanding about other countries, whether far or close, forming connections with people all over the world beyond their national borders as a result. On the other hand, this trend can severely lead to the dilution of a country's identity due to the erosion of its cultural values. More specifically, phở - one of a symbol of Vietnamese traditional cuisines, is gradually overshadowed by the excessive development of fast food chains, such as McDonald's or KFC. Not only does it render national culture preservation in jeopardy, but it also loosen the connection between individuals and their own cultural roots. In conclusion, despite the fact that a country may reap immense benefits from globalization such as economic growth or international connections, the potential drawbacks of culture dilution and national identity loss completely outweighs the advantages. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between harnessing globalization and preserving the uniqueness of native culture. Prompt: Differences between countries become less evident each year. Task 1: The charts below show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The pie charts delineate the water consumption proportions across six global regions. Overall, water usage primarily centers around agriculture across most continents, with exceptions in North America and Europe where industrial consumption is highest. In terms of South America, approximately three-quarters of water usage is dedicated to agricultural activities. However, in North America, this percentage is slightly below 40% while in Europe, it stands at 32%. Notably, North American industries consume nearly half of the total water supply, which is 5% higher than Europe’s industrial water usage. For household purposes, just under a fifth of water is utilized, with both regions using around 14%. This sector is roughly twice as much as water used for industrial activities, which accounts for 10% of the total water consumption. Regarding water allocation, Central Asia stands out with agriculture consuming a whopping 88%. Both regions in Asia allocate an equilvalent ratio for water in the domestic field, whilst Africa slightly surpasses this statistic. Interestingly, domestic water consumption remains low in these areas, hovering at just 10%, except for Southeast Asia, where it reaches 12%. The given diagram gives details about the redevelopment of the ground floor between 2001 and 2009. Overall, the internal layout of the ground floor was significantly restructured to accommodate a broader range of services and to better serve the needs of different types of visitors, particularly children. The changes involved the reorganization of existing sections and the addition of new facilities. One of the most significant changes was the transformation of the space that previously housed only self-help and history books in 2001. Specifically, these two sites had been divided into 6 smaller sections 8 years later, providing readers with 6 different kinds of books, namely law, economics, kitchen, self-help, fiction and history. Additionally, the east side of the ground floor was repurposed in 2009 to house a collection of films and DVDs, replacing the previous newspapers and periodicals section. Also, computer facilities were installed beneath this new media area. The addition of a children’s area in 2009 was another notable feature, marking a surge in the number of young age brackets visiting the library. This shift in readers led to the relocation of the fiction section in 2001 to accommodate books for children. Along with this new development, 8 small square tables had also been merged into 4 long rectangular ones in the centre of the ground floor. In contrast, the South corner, including the librarian’s desk, stairs, and the entrance, remained unchanged. More and more students are choosing to study at colleges and universities in a foreign country. Do the benefits of studying abroad outweigh the drawbacks? Answer: In the modern world, the increasing number of high school graduates opting for studying in a foreign country for higher education. From my perspective, studying abroad would bring more advantages than studying at mother country. This essay will elaborate further in this trend and suggest some possible reasons for that. On the one hand, young individuals whose choices are to pursue higher education in their own nation have their own merits. Granted, many universities where history and cultural knowledge are incorporated in school curriculum, thus this can nurture a sense of belonging and remind them of their origins by connecting to their roots. Vietnam can exemplify this situation. The majority of Vietnamese universities are educating their students about patriotism by documents that they encounter and examine every day. But, if the students didn’t choose to stay in their nation, they would not able to approach these resources, leading to impaired cultural understanding and history knowledge. However, it appears to me that, abroad education outweighs staying within motherland significantly. First, it can nurture cultural insights about variety of countries around the globe. Students, for example, can interact, communicate, share their ideas, their countries’ history, knowledge with others who also come from diverse backgrounds, thus leading to increased understanding about different fields that they are interested in. By the same token, students can also gain benefits from a more developed economy. This is because, students have a tendency to seek more job opportunities, increased employability, especially whom come from impoverished countries. This is particularly noticeable with nation such as the USA, UK, Australia where they have special policies that include specific sakes for abroad students, including granting permanent living for them who already accomplished 5 years study course. Therefore, thanks to these benefits, it offers great benefits advantages for students with the desire to have brighter future and want higher source of income than it is in their motherland. In conclusion, despite some possible demerits that studying abroad can bring to students, including lacking understanding about cultural value and history. However, I still maintain that with greater merits that choosing to stay in another country brings about such as increasing job employability, higher income; the advantages are still more significant. đề là: It is observed that in many countries not enough students are choosing to study science as a subject. What are the causes? And what will be the effects on society? Bài Làm: It is believed that lots of students are not willing to study science as a subject at school in many countries. This happens because science is a demanding subject and its teaching methods become boring and outdated, and the loss of workers in technical-required fields can affect the society as a result of not studying science. One reason why pupils do not want to learn science is that science requires a lot of demanding skills and time. This is due to the large amount of knowledge needed to learn, which will need different skills like logical thinking, mathematics and researching to be able to absorb all the information. Another reason is that the teaching methods in science are becoming less interesting and outdated since this subject has lots of boring theoretical knowledge, which makes students spend hours learning in class, while practical knowledge is not being taught with real life experiments. This has ultimately made students feel overwhelmed as well as losing interest in this practical subject. For example, In Vietnam, due to the lack of labs and high-quality experimental equipment, many students cannot have a chance to study science subjects from real-life experiments, which can help raise the interests of students. Not learning science can result in the decline in the numbers of high-skilled workers in scientific fields. This happens because most jobs relating to science require a degree in that field or particular skills. With the lack of knowledge in science, people cannot work as engineers or workers in science-related jobs. This can slow down economic growth and create huge demands in the jobs market. For example, if people want to become an engineer, they have to learn different types of science subjects in order to understand the process and lots of companies need an engineer degree to employ workers. In conclusion, the reasons why many students have no interest in learning science as a subject are the skills that this subject requires and the old-fashioned teaching methods that teachers are using. Not studying science can lead to a loss of workers relating to scientific jobs. đề là: It is observed that in many countries not enough students are choosing to study science as a subject. Overall, there was a significant number of workers who worked in sales in both 2 years, while that of farming showed the smallest number of employees in the total workforce. All job categories saw an increase in workers after 7 years, with the exception of accounting and nursing. Delving into specifics, the sales sector exhibits the highest number of workers, approximately 160,000 in 2001 and then expanded over 160,000 in 2008. This is followed by the computing major, which employed around under 60,000 individuals in 2001 and, after 7 years, demonstrating a growth trajectory, nearly 80,000 employees. The data for accounting had a faint gap in the number of people who took part in between 2001 (about 62,000 workers) and 2008 (about 59,000 workers), dropping about 3,000 people. While the nursing sector received a minimal climb in the number of employees throughout the period (from over 50,000 people in 2001 to nearly 60,000 people in 2008), that of farming witnessed a relative decline (from approximately 30,000 people in 2001 to 20,000 people in 2008). In conclusion, there was a remarkable difference between the human resources in the sales sector and the farming sector as a result of the economic structure change from manual labor to service industry. Overall, all examined age groups showed significant rises in Internet utilization rates, with 25-44-year-olds registering the most pronounced increase, while the 16-24 age cohort always had the highest proportion throughout. Looking first at the younger groups, namely 16-24 and 25-44 ones, the former commenced with the highest number of exactly 80%, which was nearly doubled the figure for adults aged 25 to 44, at around 50%. Thereafter, the 16-24 age group experienced a peak of 100% in 2005, before declining slightly to over 84% in 2006. Following an upward trend, the percentage of Internet users aged between 25 to 44 saw a significant 10% increase each year and finally achieved 80% in 2006. Turning to other older groups, 45-to-54-year-olds, whose initial figure stood at 60%, witnessed their rate increase steadily and finished at the same level as people aged 25 to 44, at 80%. Task 1: the diagram below shows the process of milk production The diagram illustrate how dairy milk is produced. Overall, the system involves multiple stages, commencing with cow grazing and ending with packaging for wide commercial distribution. The initial stage begins with cows grazing on pastureland, which provides them with adequate nutrients for milk production. These cows then undergo a process of milking twice a day, using a specilzed machine, after which their milk will be stored in a refrigerated tank to preserve its freshness. The extracted milk is later transported via daily tankers to a dairy factory, preparing for further steps. In the subsequent stage, milk in large containers undergoes two separate processing routes, one of which includes milk being an ingredient to make other dairy foods such as cheese, cream, and butter. The other entails pasteurizing the milk to extend it expiry date and ensure a qualified taste. Once processed, the milk, through a conveyer belt, is finally packaged before being distributed to retail institutions like shops and supermarkets for consumer goods. The charts below show the percentage of workers in three sectors across four countries in 1980 and 2010.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words. The two bar charts depict the proportion of employees in three sectors in 1980 and 2010 in Germany, the USA, Japan and China. Overall, there were reductions in the agriculture and service sectors while industry increased in most countries, with the exception of China whose number of industrial workers remained stable in both years. In western countries and Japan, the majority of working people were employed in the industry sector, with 60% in Germany, and about 55% in America and Japan in 1980. These numbers surged in 2010 when all three nations experienced a roughly 20% increase. These states were also the least focused on farming as they all had less than 10% of workers employed in this field in 2010. In the service sector, these states witnessed slight decreases of less than 10%. China had a drastically different development compared to the rest of the nations as its industry field did not fluctuate in the two recorded years, remaining stable at 40%. Another discrepancy was the dominance of China’s farming sector where approximately 70% of people are employed in 1980, though this number fell to 50% 30 years later. Moreover, China also had the most dramatic fall of more than 20% in the percentage of service workers. You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
