Part 3: ● Why do some people find it hard to make everyday decisions?
I'm not so sure, but I guess some people struggle with making everyday decisions due to a lack of adequate background information. For example, when we want to choose between different types of cars but don't have an idea about their power and reliability, we can be struggled seriously. Additionally, people usually struggle with making decisions when there are conflicting targets, such as wanting to buy a house near the city center but having a limited budget. This conflict of interests makes it difficult to choose the best option. Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists and not local people. Why is this the case? What can be done to attract local people? In the contemporary world, many museums and historical sites attract more tourists than native people. From my perspective, this trend can be attributed to two main reasons and several solutions should be done to attract the locals’ attention. Local people infrequently attend museums and historical sites due to two primary reasons. The foremost reason is the perceived repetition of heritage locations. This is because those places only offer similar activities over many years; hence, local residents may feel they are already familiar with these sites. Consequently, they do not prioritize visiting them. Another justification is the price of entrance tickets. Many cultural institutions offer an excessively high price for only a few activities. For instance, many museums in Vietnam cost 100,000 Vietnamese dong for only 30 minutes of sightseeing. As a result, local residents especially low-classes can not access these sites. However, several solutions could be implemented to captivate native people’s attraction. The first solution would be offering more thrilling experiences such as puppetry or plays to recreate the tense atmosphere of battlefields. This could be done by the administrators to provide more various and interesting activities for visitors; hence, more locals may attend and enjoy them. Secondly, the officials of exhibition halls and sites of historical significance should reduce or eliminate entrance fees. The more reasonable price, the more local people can purchase. As a result, there will be an increase in local visitors. In conclusion, the general familiarity and the overpriced fees are predominant reasons why tourists mainly visit museums and historical sites, not local people, and steps need to be taken by these places’ administrators to attract more locals. It is predicted that with more new activities and affordable ticket prices, more local people will pay a visit to historic places. The bar chart illustrates how many three types of visitors to a museum from 1997 to 2002. Overall, it can be seen that the adult visitors who came to the museum were the most popular during the period given, it was true opposite for the special exhibition visitors. In 1997, the museum welcomed 300,100 adult visitors, making them the largest visitor group. Visitors aged under 15 numbered 120,000, which were higher than special exhibitions at only 28,000 visitors. Over the next 15 years, adult visitors peaked in 2007 with 400,500 people. The exhibition grew slowly and ended with 42,000 in the final stage. There were around 120,000 visitors to the exhibition in 1997, but then it experienced a rapid decline to 87,000 visitors by 2007 and around 82,300 visitors in the final stage in 2002. It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behaviour to children? One important stage in a child's growth is certainly the sense of right and wrong. This skill comes with time and good parenting, and my firm conviction is that punishment does not have much of a role to play in this. Therefore, I have to disagree almost entirely with the necessity of punishments. There are several reasons why we should not punish a child physically. To punish a very young child is both wrong and foolish, as an infant lacks the capability to comprehend what is happening or why he or she is being punished. Once the age of rationale is reached, however, a child can be rewarded for good behaviors and discouraged from the bad ones. This kind but firm approach will achieve more than harsh punishments, which might entail many unintended negative consequencesby the parents. For example, a timid characteristic of a child can result from the constant punishments of strict parenting. To help a child differentiate between right and wrong, teachers and parents should firstly provide good role modeling. After that, if sanctions are needed, the punishment should not be of a physical nature, as that merely sends the message that it is acceptable for larger people to hit smaller ones - an outcome which may well result in the child starting to bully others. Nor should the punishment be in any way cruel. Rather, teachers and parents can use a variety of methods to discipline their young charges, such as detention, or withdrawal of privileges. Making the punishment fit the misbehavior is a useful notion, which would see the children being made to pick up the litter they have dropped, clean up graffiti they have drawn, or apologize to someone they have hurt. In these ways, responsibility is developed in the child, which leads to much better future behavior than punishment does. In conclusion, the sole reliance on hurtful punishment is undoubtedly effective only when it is in the form of appropriate discipline, not physical measures, as it could hinder a child’s personality development. Instead, applications of discipline could further cultivate a child’s sense of responsibility. It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Task 2: International travel is becoming cheaper, and countries are opening their doors to more and more tourists. Do the advantages of increased tourism outweigh the disadvantages? In today’s world, foreign holidays are more affordable, and countries are opening their doors to attract more and more tourists. Although this trend may present certain challenges, I believe the benefits far outweigh them. On the one hand, there are some disadvantages. Firstly, overtourism can cause environmental degradation. This is because the countries need to cut down trees for tourist infrastructure. Another drawback is that this can have a negative impact on native residents’ quality life. Popular tourist destinations can be overcrowded; hence, some local people have to migrate to another region which is undisturbed. Moreover, many local markets increase their prices to make more profit, so native people can not buy overpriced products. On the other hand, this trend delivers significant benefits. It is undoubtedly true that this can lead to economic boost. If there is an influx of tourists coming to visit tourist destinations, they might pay for accommodations, catering facilities, public transportation and so on. Therefore, local companies can gain substantial revenue. Secondly, this can expand employment opportunities for residents due to the rise of travel agencies that provide services for visitors. Last but not least, this can foster a strong sense of social cohesion between various nations. Tourists and native people can exchange their culture and traditions. Consequently, they can exposure to new cultures which can enhance global cooperation and alleviate any existing prejudices. In conclusion, although this change might have some potential disadvantages, I believe its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. The increase of tourism can be at the root for the robust economy, jobs creation and global integration. In the modern era of globalization, it is vital to learn a second language due to the need for communication on an immense scale. Some people say that when people learn a language, it is advisable to find out about the cultures and lifestyles of this country as well. In my opinion, I fully wholeheartedly support this view as it is beneficial to learners’ knowledge and their adaptation ability. It is understandable why other people disagree with the advice. Firstly, they prioritize the learning of grammar and vocabulary for earning certificates. Given that learners spend their study time on studying thoroughly knowledge about grammar and vocabulary, they can have an insight about these two language’ s sections and have certificates about this language such as ielts certificate. Conversely, they can not earn this certificate as they take their time to study the cultures and lifestyles of this country. In addition, the process of finding out about cultures and lifestyles requires numerous time and resources. With the limited time and basic tools for learning, people are less likely to be exposed to these two knowledge of the country. However, I believe that people should learn about cultures and lifestyles because of its benefits. For one, it enables learners to broaden the horizon of their knowledge. By learning more about national identity and its lifestyles, people can comprehend other aspects of the country beside its language. Therefore, people can accumulate numerous useful information which can help them in their work such as getting on well with their foreign colleagues. Furthermore, it enables learners to adapt and integrate easily when they live in this country. Given that people already learn about daily habits and some conventional cultures, this knowledge can facilitate them to become familiar easily when they move to a new country as well as fastly adapt with the speed of living in this place. In conclusion, I firmly agree with the need to learn about the cultures and lifestyles of the nations. In spite of some reasons for not supporting this view, including the less priority than grammar and vocabulary, and its requirement for time and resources, learning the national identity and lifestyles can facilitate learners to broaden the horizon of their knowledge as well as integrate easily when they reside in the country. Describe a good decision you have just made recently You should say: ● What the decision was ● When and where you made this decision ● What happened as a result of this decision And explain why you think this was a good decision to make.
One good decision I made recently was to read the Harry Potter series to improve my IELTS reading skills. This decision came about after I had scored 8.5 on the IELTS reading section for the third time. I realized I needed to boost my reading comprehension, so I consulted a friend who teaches IELTS. He shared various methods, including speed reading and question analysis, but the idea of focusing on reading comprehension through engaging material seemed most convincing to me I started this journey a few months ago, right after discussing it with my friend. I found that immersing myself in the Harry Potter books not only made reading enjoyable but also significantly improved my skills. My reading speed has increased without compromising comprehension, and I've learned over a thousand new words from the series. This newfound confidence in my reading ability is invaluable as I prepare for the IELTS again, aiming for a perfect score of 9.0 this August. Additionally, this decision has fostered a daily reading habit. I now have a constant thirst for more reading materials and have gained a lot of valuable knowledge in the process. Looking back, I wish I had started this approach two years ago when I first began studying for the IELTS. It's been a brilliant decision that continues to benefit me in many ways. Some people say cultural traditions are destroyed when they are used as money-making attractions aimed at tourists. Others say this is the only way to save such traditions. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In contemporary society, the popularity of tourism has led to a growing concern about cultural preservation. Opinions are divergent regarding the matter of whether cultural traditions will be ruined or supported if it is used to earn revenue. The aim of this essay is to investigate both viewpoints before giving my personal perspective on this issue. It is understandable why a number of individuals suggest that the development of tourism may jeopardise cultural traditions. A rationale behind this belief is that the activities of travellers are likely to pose a threat to the sites visited. Despite the endeavour to protect these cultural heritage sites, local authorities cannot take control over a great quantity of visitors. Furthermore, this trend can lead to the loss of cultural identity since cultural commercialisation usually ignores the pivotal values of culture. As a result, if culture is used as a tool to generate income, it will be attached little importance to a unique tradition, causing damage to the nature of culture. On the other hand, I would argue that tourism is one of the most optimal ways to protect a culture. First, tourism can help spread the culture on a global scale since countries have witnessed an astonishingly increasing number of tourists from abroad. Hence, it can encourage younger generations to dedicate themselves to activities, thereby preventing cultural traditions from fading into obscurity. For instance, in Vietnam, many skillful artists make an attempt to teach and pass down their skills to not only local residents but also foreign travellers, contributing significantly to the maintenance of cultural identity. Besides, revenue from the tourism sector can be allocated to repairing and upgrading facilities of cultural tourism sites, thus enhancing visitors’ experience. To clarify, unless Hoi An ancient town is used for tourism, it cannot earn enough money to reconstruct old buildings which keep invaluable things. In conclusion, although tourism may put the integrity of culture at risk, my firm conviction is that it can help preserve these traditional values from disappearing and improve awareness of upholding a culture In contemporary society, the popularity of tourism has led to a growing concern about cultural preservation. In many countries, the quality of life in large cities is becoming worse. What do you think are the causes of this problem? What measures could be taken to solve it? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. It is asserted that in many parts of the world, people are suffering from the lower standard of living in the metropolises. This essay attempts to bring the driven reasons to the light before enunciating several viable solutions. The overpopulation can be viewed as the prime reason for these problems, leading to environmental pollution. In fact, a huge amount of population can result in the overconsumption of fossil fuels, such as gas, coal and oil, which can have a deleterious effect on the surrounding habitats. To elaborate, a recent research shows that the air pollution rate is witnessed the record soar in 2024 compared to the previous years. Moreover, the unemployment rate arising from these issues starts to increase as the job markets can be exceedingly competitive by dint of the superabundance of the workforces. If fhere are myriad people, who cannot be able to seek for a paid occupation, they may engagae in social evils, particularly drug and prostitutions, making the entire society at the peril status. Therefore, the most feasible approach is to launch a worldwide family planning movement. This will help to restrict the population at a particular level, thereby alleviating the overall contamination by virtue of less consumption of powers and minerals. Another essential method is that the authorities ought, not only to allocate the national budget for the awareness campaigns which educate the inhabitants about the role of the environment, but also to expand the labour markets with the aim of higher employment proportion. For that reason, people can reach the environmental sustainability as well as curtail the delinquency tribulations. In brief, people living in urbanized areas worsen their living conditions due to the overcrowding bringing about more detrimental ecosystem and the increasing number of criminals. To perfectly address these concerns, the governmental organs have to practice birth control, organize the awareness campaigns and widen the professional opportunities for all individuals. In many countries, the quality of life in large cities is becoming worse. What do you think are the causes of this problem? What measures could be taken to solve it? Topic: It is said that the amount of violence on TV programmes has negative effects on our social development and therefore should be reduced. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? The assertion that televised violence negatively impacts social development is a point of significant contention. I firmly believe this influence is detrimental, necessitating a reduction in such content. The ensuing discussion will evaluate the psychological effects on viewers and the broader societal consequences. The psychological imprint of televised violence on individuals, particularly young viewers, is profound. Research by the American Psychological Association indicates that regular exposure to media violence heightens aggression by modelling inappropriate behaviours as acceptable in conflict resolution. For instance, children who frequently watch violent shows are more likely to exhibit aggressive tendencies and reduced empathy. These effects are not fleeting but have the potential to embed long-term behavioural patterns, disrupting emotional development and social interactions. Such findings underscore the need for stringent content regulation to safeguard mental health and promote positive social behaviours. On a societal level, the pervasiveness of violence on television cultivates a culture of fear and aggression. Sociological studies illustrate a correlation between high rates of media violence consumption and societal violence, suggesting that televised brutality not only reflects but potentially exacerbates societal issues. For example, media portrayals of violence can desensitize the population, making incidents of real-world violence seem less alarming and more acceptable. This normalization can hinder community cohesion and mutual respect, pivotal components of societal advancement. Therefore, reducing these broadcasts can contribute to a more harmonious and empathetic society, fostering environments that encourage peaceful coexistence rather than conflict. In conclusion, the adverse effects of televised violence on individual psychology and societal harmony substantiate the call for its reduction. By limiting exposure to such content, we can enhance both personal and community well-being. It is essential for media producers to prioritize societal health over sensationalism, aligning broadcasting practices with the principles of public good. Topic: It is said that the amount of violence on TV programmes has negative effects on our social development and therefore should be reduced. In the past, knowledge was stored in books. Today, we store knowledge on the internet. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?
In modern society, there is a tendency for information to be stored online instead of being written or printed in books like they used to be. From my perspective, I think this the positive aspects of this outweighs the negative ones. It is certain that storing knowledge on the internet is more convenient for people to get access to. This can be seen from the way people can easily search for exactly right on information that they need through search engines, such as Google or Wikipedia, with a couple of clicks. However, this is not the case for books when people must spend a quite large amount of time to find necessary information. It is undeniable that there are various forms of information presentation on the internet. This development brings some benefits for people who find reading books is hard to absorb knowledge. Besides texts, there are combination of audio and illustration, which makes videos lively and attracts learner's attention better. Additionally, this way of learning is particularly suitable for children who tend to lose focus on reading books. In conclusion, I believe that online storing information is more beneficial than traditional way of storing, which is recorded in books. The graphs below show the percentage of graduates that got full-time jobs after graduating from a university in Australia, and the average salary of both these types of graduates, from 2004 to 2012. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. The line graph illustrates the proportion of two types of graduates that landed full-time jobs after graduating from a specific Australian university, while the table depicts the average earnings of both these types of graduates, between 2004 and 2012. Overall, most categories saw an upward trend, while the percentage of math graduates working as full-time employees had a reverse pattern over the given period. Another interesting point is that the total average salary of math graduates was more than that of other graduates. Regarding the percentage of full-time workers holding a university degree, other graduates' proportion was approximately 65% in 2004 and then increased rapidly before reaching a record high of nearly 90% in 2006. Subsequently, the figure declined steadily to about 70% in 2012. The proportion of full-time workers who had a math degree was exactly 80% in 2004 and then it rose gradually to reach a high peak at about 85% in 2008, which is the same as that of other graduates. After that, the figure reduced moderately to under 80% in 2012. In terms of the average yearly amount of these types, both math graduates and other graduates achieved $41,000 in average salary and the figures increased rapidly to $43,000 in 2006. Đề bài Nowadays people use bicycles less as a form of transport. Why is that? What can we do to encourage people to use bicycles more? Bài làm It is true that the use of some vehicles such as bicycles is decreasing. This essay will discuss the reasons behind this phenomenon and then offer some feasible solutions to it. There are a number of factors responsible for the fact that people use bicycles less as a mode of transportation. Chief among these is that people with busy lifestyles prefer using convenient vehicles such as cars and motorbikes instead of inconvenient ones like bikes. In fact, they don’t have enough time to go to their workplaces because of the slow speed when using bicycles. Moreover, the demand for going to a lot of places, such as home, work places, schools, etc. , which requires indefatigable energy is also the main reason people deter from using bicycles. Another explanation is that the government does not concern itself with the improvement of streets used for bicycles, which leads to the lack of adequate infrastructure. An illustration for this is that some developing countries such as Laos, Viet Nam, etc., have lots of narrow roads, limited bike lanes, and inadequate cycling facilities, which can easily cause accidents with other vehicles like cars and motorbikes when people participate in traffic. As a result, this causes safety concerns among citizens that using bikes is not really secure. Various measures, nevertheless, can be adopted to tackle the situation. The first possible approach is that the government can encourage residents to use bikes by implementing policies that improve infrastructure and deduct taxes on buying bicycles. Consequently, people may consider cycling for transportation purposes. The second solution is that the government should launch education and awareness campaigns in order to introduce the advantages of using bicycles instead of using other transportations. For instance, cycling may minimize the risk of suffering from diabetes or obesity, it also provides residents with the opportunity with a healthier lifestyle. In conclusion, the fact that people tend to use convenient and fast means of transportation like cars, planes and motorbikes is increasing substantially and can stem from many causes. However, steps can be taken to ameliorate the situation. Đề bài Nowadays people use bicycles less as a form of transport. Why is that? What can we do to encourage people to use bicycles more? While this trend presents some merits such as motivating athletes and raising income for companies, it could also lead to fierce competition and unethical commercial practices. This development has both positive and negative impacts in equal measure which will be discussed in this essay. On the one hand, there are some advantages associated with this trend. Firstly, sports stars could perform at peak condition and focus more on pursuing their careers thanks to the huge budgets from sponsors. The financial incentives could help sportsmen to have a decent income to support themselves and have access to state-of-the-art facilities and healthcare services accommodating their rigorous training. Additionally, many enterprises can reap benefits from sports celebrity endorsements reinforcing their brand awareness and loyalty. In particular, by making a 10-million-dollar contract with Ronaldo, one of the most renowned footballers in the world, to be the brand’s ambassador, a sportswear giant named Nike has significantly increased its sales, surging its takings ten times higher than before. On the other hand, the emergence of sports financialization could be considered to be negative for several reasons. Firstly, high wages could lead to some athletes being tempted to cheat or engage in immoral behaviors. Placing excessive emphasis on financial gain could undermine sports players’s work ethic resulting in sports fraud and lack of sportsmanship. For example, some athletes have resorted to performance-enhancing drugs such as doping and anabolic steroids in order to boost their moods and enhance their physicality which could help them improve their chances of winning or secure profitable deals. In addition, this trend is exacerbated by the manipulation of betting companies helping increase their influx of income. Gambling companies could get involved in match-fixing and replace the final results of tournaments. If this course of action continues to thrive, a multitude of spectators could feel severely disappointed and even lose large amounts of money for making the wrong bet. In conclusion, the increase in the income of sports stars and involvement of entrepreneurs has some beneficial effects by fulfilling players’s financial and training needs as well as raising the company's profile, whereas it also brings concerns regarding an unwholesome competing environment and the proliferation of immoral betting companies. In this day and age, it would be considered that the commercialization of sports has transformed it into a lucrative industry, benefiting both athletes and businesses involved. While this trend presen... Read morebùi quỳnh chi
