It was predicted that with the development of technology, people would have more free time in the 21st century. To what extent do you think this prediction has come true? Some people predicted that humans in the 21st century would have more leisure time due to technological advancements. From my perspective, there are two main reasons why I believe this prediction has become a reality. The first reason I think the development of technology has increased people’s leisure time is the utilization of technological innovations in the workplace. This is because this has helped employees to enhance work productivity and boost efficiency; hence, they have accomplished their work more quickly and effectively. A good example of this is that many companies have installed AI-powered office software that enables their workers to create documentaries more quickly. Consequently, people have had more valuable free time and have maintained a healthy work-life balance. Another reason why I maintain that modern people are enjoying more free time due to technological progress is the presence of household appliances. This has simplified the completion of household chores which is very time-consuming. For instance, housewives used to wash dirty clothes by hand, however, up-to-date washing machines now have taken responsibility for that job. As a result, people have had more scarce free time to take care of themselves and their families. In conclusion, I believe that breakthroughs in technology have allowed people to have more leisure time in the 21st century as it has facilitated their work processes and provided smart home devices. With the rapid technical changes, people will have more and more free time in the next few years and even in the next century. It was predicted that with the development of technology, people would have more free time in the 21st century. To what extent do you think this prediction has come true? Topic: It is believed that governments should prohibit such dangerous sports such as bungee jumping. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with the statement with some following reasons. Extreme sports are gaining popularity among younger generations due to the enourmous amount of adrenaline its brings to its participants, however, rising concerns among populations about whether these sports should be banned because of its high risk have lead to prolonged controversy and are affecting athletes around the world. While many inviduals strongly advocates for the banning of extreme sports to maintain safety, I firmly believe that extreme sports should not be prohibited due to its cultural significance, people's enjoyments and sport diversity. Firstly, each activity have it's own risk, sports such as football, boxing and Formula 1 racing may have far more risk from skiing or skydiving, yet these sports aren't raising concerns for their peril. Sports such as Formula 1 have little room to enforce new rules to maintain safety, on the other hand, stricter laws enforcement on extreme sports can significantly reduced its risk such as better avalanche control methods, or prohibited skydiving during windy conditions. Therefore, banning these sports due to its risk shouldn't be justified. Secondly, these activities plays a crucial role in the culture of many people, these sports are tied to a people for hundreds of years. Thus, outdoor activity are design to reduce stress, and relax with society, in many case it may have special bond to a culture belief, activities, and language and therefore safety shouldn't be the priority over having fun. Last but not least, banning people from this are violating their own freedom, by limiting what people can do because of an opinion of another individuals are given less right and governments are likely interfering in it's citizen activity. This specifically affect populations that use extreme sports as a hobby or career and may have significant impacts on the loss of culture and increasing rates of obesity. In conclusion, despite the risk given to athlete, extreme sport shouldn't be banned due to its cultural impacts among populations, increasing in sports activity and reduce obesity, but also maintaining the freedom of rights of many people in the population. Dạ nhờ thầy cô xem qua giúp em ạ The diagrams below show the coastal village of Seaville in 1980 and 2010. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.
The maps illustrate significant changes a Seaville’s seaside town, over a thirty-year course, from 1980 to 2010. Overall, the village developed substantially from a holiday settlement to a permanent town in 30 years. Similarly, infrastructure and amenities increased, along with the town’s capacity to provide for tourists. In 1980, Seaville was relatively tiny, attracting only a few tourists, who were accommodated in cottages or a small hotel. In contrast, the East Bank situated near a stream of river flowing into the big ocean was unspoilt. To the east of the cottages, there was a marsh and a land covered with woody vegetation to the north. Regarding recreation, besides the beach, the town only offered a tea room. However, the village had a significant overhaul in 2010. The marsh was drained and the line of cottages was demolished in order to make way for housing. To the south of the residential area, the woodland was cut down and supplanted by a golf course. Another major change was the establishment of a village for retired people located next to a newly-formed boat club. To cater for visitors, both a high-rise hotel and holiday cottages were constructed. Additionally, a new infrastructure was set up to access the East Bank. Meanwhile, the town preserved its original hotel standing on the same site for 30 years. The given illustration depicts the stages in the growth of a frog. Overall, this is a natural process which is characterized by 3 mainly parts, beginning with the appearance of numerous eggs and ending with the consistent formation of an adult frog. This process initiates with generating a great number of eggs compared as the embryo to cover the frog’s cells. Subsequently, coming to the second stage, it is about the gradual formation from the tadpole to an immature frog. During this stage, tadpole may experience three times increase in its shape’s size until reaching to the appropriate level of growth. Then the appendages of frog start to grow to have maximum number as 4, simultaneously combining with the development of the independent respiratory trait via its lungs. Eventually, the frog’s tail is cut down and this animal will be called in the distinctive name such as tadpole frog. Concluding with the final stage, it requires a certain timeframe to be fully reformed as an adult frog which can maintain their lives both on the ground and in the marine. The given table indicates an amount of labours working in 4 countries distinguished from their original nation with a limited duration of stay in both 2003 and 2006, especially, providing the specific number of employees based on the rate of 1,000 individuals in 2006. Overall, the table comprised 4 broad nations, respectively New Zealand, United Kingdom, Australia and United States. Furthermore, whereas United States gained a predominant choice among the international labours, New Zealand attracted the fewest workers in this group. From 2003 to 2006, United States and United Kingdom both experienced the dramatical increase in the participation levels of foreign workers, for more than 100,000 individuals. It is noteworthy that Australia was the second country in 2003 with the high number of international employees, accounting for 152,000 people more than United Kingdom about 15,000 people. However, coming to 2006, the quantity of migrant workers in United Kingdom exceeded the number in Australia with a mere 47,000 workers. Although New Zealand was the least popular country in this comparison of labours, it remarkably possessed the leading rate of workers per 1,000 people, at 21.1. The pie charts compare population data based on three distinct age brackets in Yemen and Italy in 2000, along with future predictions for 2050. In general, changes in proportions of age groups are expected in both countries, including an increase in people over 60 years old and a decrease in children aged 0 to 14 by 2050. In 2000, children at the age of 0-14 constituted about half of Yemen’s population (50.10%), whereas only 14.30% of citizens were included in this category. Meanwhile, residents aged from 15 to 59 years old represented Italy’s largest age bracket at just over 60%, while in Italy, this group was slightly lower at 46.30%. In the same year, Yemen’s senior inhabitants made up less than 4% of its total population, compared to nearly a quarter of the Italian citizens (24.10%). In 2050, it is projected that the percentage of Yemen’s young children aged below 14 will go into a decline at 37%, compared to a marginal drop of about 3% in the same age group in Italy. The group of inhabitants from 15 to 59 years is expected to grow in Yemen by above 10% (57.3%) taking over two remaining age brackets, whereas in Yemen, it will be reduced by almost two-thirds with 46.2% of the nation’s population. Meanwhile, the proportion of over-60-year-old individuals in Yemen is anticipated to increase by a mere 2% at 5.7%, the figure for this category in Italy will double to 42.3%. The diagrams below show the life cycle of the silkworm and the stages in the production of silk cloth. The given diagram illustrates the stages in the life of the silkworm and how to produce silk cloth. Overall, the life cycle of the silkworm consists of four stages, beginning with laying eggs and ending with becoming moth. Additionally, there are six stages in the process of producing silk cloth, from silk cocoon to silk material. Looking at the life cycle of the silkworm in more detail. Beginning at laying eggs, the moth lays a great number of eggs on a leaf. Ten days later, these eggs hatch into silkworm larvae, which consume mulberry leaves as their resource of food. Then, after four to six weeks, silkworm larvae become covered in silk thread, and a full cocoon is produced between three and eight days later. Finally, a moth appears from a cocoon, and the cycle begins anew. Turn into the producing diagram of silk cloth, we can see that the first stage of this process is selecting cocoons, which are then boiled in water in the second stage. After being boiled, the cocoon is unwound. Several strands of thread, whose length are from 300 to 900 metres, are then twisted together before being dyed. Otherwise, these twisted strands can be woven first and then dyed subsequently. The diagrams below show the life cycle of the silkworm and the stages in the production of silk cloth. The first diagram depicts the lifecycle of a honey bee, while the second diagram illustrates how to produce honey. Overall, there are several stages in the two processes, beginning with the queen bee laying eggs in a honeycomb and ending with distribution and selling honey to customers. Initially, bee eggs are laid in a honeycomb by the queen bee, and three days later a larve starts to emerge from the eggs. After a week, the larva has become fully developed and continues in that form for three more weeks. After this, the bee leaves the hive and gathers nectar from flowers, which is the first step of making honey. At the end of this stage, nectar is taken back to the hive and the honey appears. At this point, the honey production can begin. The first step is that the honeycomb is removed from the hive by the beekeeper, who then puts it into a machine to extract the honey. After the extraction process, the honey is boiled to make it clean. Having been boiled, the honey is poured into jars to preserve it for a long time. Finally, those jars are distributed and sold. Question: The use of social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, is replacing face-to-face contact in everyday life. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages of this development? Nowadays, the widespread use of social platforms is replacing face-to-face communication. While this development offers various benefits, its drawbacks might outweigh the advantages. On the one hand, there can be certain merits of using social platforms as a main means of communications rather than face-to-face interactions. One possible advantage is that individuals’ daily life become more convenient than before. The reason is that human contact can be easier through applications and thus, people might save time and money on arranging personal meetings. For instance, Facebook and Zalo, which are some well-known applications in Vietnam, enable overseas students to get in touch with their family. Another beneficial effect could be that users might broaden their specialized knowledge. In fact, online courses allow international learners to study at their own houses, thereby giving them more flexibility. Therefore, this is valuable to their cultural experiences due to connecting with citizens from many different countries. Nevertheless, the fact that online interactions are replacing direct communication can have major downsides which overshadow these positive effects. The most obvious issue could be that these platforms might be harmful to online users. More and more scammers exploit new technology, such as AI or voice imitation tools, so as to easily gain others’ trust. Specifically, tricksters may impersonate a police to ask listeners to pay fines for traffic offence with the intention of cheating them out of money. The second drawback is that spending too much time on screen is harmful to people’s health. Relying on social media contributes to the dominance of a sedentary lifestyle. As a result, lack of physical activity causes individuals to struggle with health problems, like obesity and cardiovascular diseases. In conclusion, while in-person interactions being replaced with the rise of social applications can be positive in some situations, this development can bring about some adverse impacts. Question: The use of social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, is replacing face-to-face contact in everyday life. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages of this development? The provided chart illustrates the US livestock consumption of four types of meats: turkey, pork, beef, and broilers over a period of 57 years starting from 1955 overall, It is evident that pork and beef were by far the most prevalent categories at the beginning of the period. However, the per capita consumption of broilers witnessed a considerable escalation, with the figure eventually surpassing the average consumption of beef at the end of the period from 1961 onward, It is noteworthy that beef consumption had seen a significant increase and reached a high of about 90 pounds in 1976 before falling to around 50 pounds in 2012. while there was a fluctuation from around 40 to 50 pounds in the consumption of pork during the period between 1961 and 2012, a dramatic increase was recorded in the annual consumption of broilers, which was the most dominant figure compared to the others. whereas there was a stable trend in yearly turkey consumption from only around 5 to 10 pounds occurring in 57 years. Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Discuss both these view and give your own opinion. While one school of thought holds that science research, market, and academic aspects should provide as much materials as they can, others are of the opinion that invaluable knowledge should not be exchanged easily. On the one hand, it is understandable why some propose scientific investigation, finance, and academic world related information should be shared freely. The primary reason behind this thinking is that knowledge is a treasure for humans to raise their living standards. Hence, it would be a golden opportunity for individuals to have access to logical and educational support from science and academic resources which play a pivotal role in revolutionizing their critical thinking, or to the economic values that they can get from business field’s information and learn how to live economically and work efficiently. Studocu, for instance, which is one of the free-charged websites of thousands of academic documents and research papers, was established to optimize uploading and downloading valuable files in a self-sufficient way. As a result, this website has had more than 1000000 accounts, showing that it can help people enhance their academic study and research process. On the other hand, I side with those who believe that these crucial and high-valued information should be private. Perhaps the foremost reason would be that it can cement the authority’s right. By charging or asking for permission to get the data, the author can ensure the equal of getting such knowledge which they may make a large amount of effort to possess or generate. To exemplify, Nha Nam – a renowned publisher of Vietnamese-translated scientific books – always be adept at keeping the translated versions of well-known books all over the world. They want the customers and avid readers to respect authors’ as well as translators’ grey matter. If they purchase books, they can acquire the contents that such products provide. This example underscores the indispensable role of publishing and reading books, which requires either a pay-to-read process or private-keeping policies. In conclusion, while there are justifications for advocating freely sharing scientific, business, and academic knowledge, I would contend that these information should not be yielded without permission or charging. This is because scientist’s and authors’ grey matter is extremely essential, and if we do not pay for them, we are not thinking highly of their utmost contribution. Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. The graphs below show the total percentage of films released and the total percentage of ticket sales in 1996 and 2000 in a country. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. The bar charts illustrate the summarized proportions of four genres of movies released and their ticket sales in 1996 and 2000 in a particular country. Overall, most categories witnessed an upward trend, except for romantic movies with a reverse pattern in the given time. Another interesting point is that despite the percentage of drama films released being the highest, comedy is much more popular among movie-goers than the other types of film. Regarding the proportions of movies released, drama films, comedy and fantasy were approximately 25%, 20% and about 10% in 1996, respectively. Then the figures escalated to 35%, 25%, and above 15% in 2000, respectively. The percentage of romantic movies released was slightly over 5% in 1996, which was the same as that in 2000. In 1996, most consumers opted for dramatic movies and comedy, with their sales being just over 15% and more than 20%, respectively. After that, these proportions negligibly rose to approximately 16% and nearly 25%, respectively. In 1996, the proportion of fantasy movie ticket sales was about 3%, which was lower than the figure for romance, with exactly 5%. However, the figure for fantasy movies went up nearly twofold in 2000, while the figure for romantic movies decreased to above 2%. The increase in people's life expectancy means that they have to work older to pay for their retirement. One alternative is that people start to work at younger age. Is this alternative a positive or negative development? The fact that people can live longer has been a source of controversy. It means that people have to work more at later ages in their lives. Nowadays, it is claimed that individuals should start their careers at younger ages to solve this situation. Personally, I think that it is a positive development. On the one hand, working at a younger age can lead to a lack of social life. In fact, people in workplaces often work for 8 hours per day, sometimes they do extra time to complete the project or the target. Because of spending all day at the workplace, they often feel tired when coming home. Therefore, individuals may have less time for self-care and social relationships, which is important for self-development during youth. On the other hand, I strongly believe that it is advantageous to start a job at a younger age. Firstly, the young can enhance crucial skills for their higher career in the future. It is clear that the young are a dynamic age, so they can try their best in many job positions. It not only helps them to experience some awkward circumstances in this job, but it also creates ample opportunities for them to meet others, leading to developing many skills such as communication or discussion which is necessary for their future career. Secondly, youth can have financial independence by working early. Therefore, they reduce their reliance on their families and also save money for their later ages. In other words, when the youth are in retirement, they can have enough money to pay for many unexpected diseases and have a lot of time for self-care. As a result, the life expectancy can be longer. To sum up, I hold the view that despite the lack of private life, working at a younger age is beneficial for individuals, including the development of early skills and the ease for the older age. The increase in people's life expectancy means that they have to work older to pay for their retirement. One alternative is that people start to work at younger age. Moreover, while the largest figure of temporary migrant working people consistently went on the US, New Zealand had the biggest ratio of migrant workers per 1000 people in 2006. In 2003, there were 577000 temporary migrant workers in the United States, far exceeding the figures for other countries combined. The UK and Australia reported approximately 140000 and 150000 migrant workers respectively, whereas the number of temporarily working migrants was only 65000 in New Zealand. Throughout the next 3 years, whilst the figure for the UK doubled to 266000 part-time migrant workers, the quantity of migrants working part-time in the US, Australia and New Zealand rose by about 100000, 50000, and 130000 respectively. Regarding the rate of part-time migrant workers for every 1000 people, New Zealand recorded the highest number of around 21 in comparison to only 10.7 for Australia. The figures for the UK and the US were below 5, at 4.4 and 2.3 respectively. Mong thầy cô chấm giúp em bài này với ạ. Em cảm ơn nhiều ạ. More and more people in the city live in homes with small spaces or no outdoor areas. Do you think it is a negative or positive development?
There is a growth of population in many large cities, causing plenty of people to lead their lives in limited accomadations and no open space. Personally, I think this reality have significant negativity. Living in small spaces will be likely to result in some consequences that affect the quality of people’s lives, especially mental aspect. It can be sure that cramped living environment prevents people from doing daily activities effectively, such as space for eating or relaxing, which are all basic neeads of human. It has been proved that living in limited space can elicit feelings of confinement and accumulate negative emotions. Consequently, if this state constanly continues, people will suffer from mental issues including depression. Besides mental problems when staying in small spaces for a long period of time, without outdoor areas also bring about the problem of well-being. It is easily that people will have sedentary lifestyles because of no areas for exercise, causing higher risks of heart attack and obesity. This is even worse to the elderly, who are highly advised to do exercise on a regular basis in order to stay healthy. Furthermore, children are also one of the most vulnerable age group as they need to get exposed to nature and stay energetic to be well-rounded. In conclusion, I believe that this tendency of living in small houses with no open air have several disadvantages to both mental and physical health of people. The government should introduce some policies to help minimize this drawback.
