It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behaviour to children?
One important stage in a child's growth is certainly the sense of right and wrong. This skill comes with time and good parenting, and my firm conviction is that punishment does not have much of a role to play in this. Therefore, I have to disagree almost entirely with the necessity of punishments.
There are several reasons why we should not punish a child physically. To punish a very young child is both wrong and foolish, as an infant lacks the capability to comprehend what is happening or why he or she is being punished. Once the age of rationale is reached, however, a child can be rewarded for good behaviors and discouraged from the bad ones. This kind but firm approach will achieve more than harsh punishments, which might entail many unintended negative consequencesby the parents. For example, a timid characteristic of a child can result from the constant punishments of strict parenting.
To help a child differentiate between right and wrong, teachers and parents should firstly provide good role modeling. After that, if sanctions are needed, the punishment should not be of a physical nature, as that merely sends the message that it is acceptable for larger people to hit smaller ones - an outcome which may well result in the child starting to bully others. Nor should the punishment be in any way cruel.
Rather, teachers and parents can use a variety of methods to discipline their young charges, such as detention, or withdrawal of privileges. Making the punishment fit the misbehavior is a useful notion, which would see the children being made to pick up the litter they have dropped, clean up graffiti they have drawn, or apologize to someone they have hurt. In these ways, responsibility is developed in the child, which leads to much better future behavior than punishment does.
In conclusion, the sole reliance on hurtful punishment is undoubtedly effective only when it is in the form of appropriate discipline, not physical measures, as it could hinder a child’s personality development. Instead, applications of discipline could further cultivate a child’s sense of responsibility.

On the one hand, there are some disadvantages. Firstly, overtourism can cause environmental degradation. This is because the countries need to cut down trees for tourist infrastructure. Another drawback is that this can have a negative impact on native residents’ quality life. Popular tourist destinations can be overcrowded; hence, some local people have to migrate to another region which is undisturbed. Moreover, many local markets increase their prices to make more profit, so native people can not buy overpriced products.
On the other hand, this trend delivers significant benefits. It is undoubtedly true that this can lead to economic boost. If there is an influx of tourists coming to visit tourist destinations, they might pay for accommodations, catering facilities, public transportation and so on. Therefore, local companies can gain substantial revenue. Secondly, this can expand employment opportunities for residents due to the rise of travel agencies that provide services for visitors. Last but not least, this can foster a strong sense of social cohesion between various nations. Tourists and native people can exchange their culture and traditions. Consequently, they can exposure to new cultures which can enhance global cooperation and alleviate any existing prejudices.
In conclusion, although this change might have some potential disadvantages, I believe its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. The increase of tourism can be at the root for the robust economy, jobs creation and global integration.

It is understandable why other people disagree with the advice. Firstly, they prioritize the learning of grammar and vocabulary for earning certificates. Given that learners spend their study time on studying thoroughly knowledge about grammar and vocabulary, they can have an insight about these two language’ s sections and have certificates about this language such as ielts certificate. Conversely, they can not earn this certificate as they take their time to study the cultures and lifestyles of this country. In addition, the process of finding out about cultures and lifestyles requires numerous time and resources. With the limited time and basic tools for learning, people are less likely to be exposed to these two knowledge of the country.
However, I believe that people should learn about cultures and lifestyles because of its benefits. For one, it enables learners to broaden the horizon of their knowledge. By learning more about national identity and its lifestyles, people can comprehend other aspects of the country beside its language. Therefore, people can accumulate numerous useful information which can help them in their work such as getting on well with their foreign colleagues. One good decision I made recently was to read the Harry Potter series to improve my IELTS reading skills. This decision came about after I had scored 8.5 on the IELTS reading section for the third time. I realized I needed to boost my reading comprehension, so I consulted a friend who teaches IELTS. He shared various methods, including speed reading and question analysis, but the idea of focusing on reading comprehension through engaging material seemed most convincing to me
I started this journey a few months ago, right after discussing it with my friend. I found that immersing myself in the Harry Potter books not only made reading enjoyable but also significantly improved my skills. My reading speed has increased without compromising comprehension, and I've learned over a thousand new words from the series. This
newfound confidence in my reading ability is invaluable as I prepare for the IELTS again, aiming for a perfect score of 9.0 this August.
Additionally, this decision has fostered a daily reading habit. I now have a constant thirst for more reading materials and have gained a lot of valuable knowledge in the process. Looking back, I wish I had started this approach two years ago when I first began studying for the IELTS. It's been a brilliant decision that continues to benefit me in many ways.

In contemporary society, the popularity of tourism has led to a growing concern about cultural preservation. Opinions are divergent regarding the matter of whether cultural traditions will be ruined or supported if it is used to earn revenue. The aim of this essay is to investigate both viewpoints before giving my personal perspective on this issue.
It is understandable why a number of individuals suggest that the development of tourism may jeopardise cultural traditions. A rationale behind this belief is that the activities of travellers are likely to pose a threat to the sites visited. Despite the endeavour to protect these cultural heritage sites, local authorities cannot take control over a great quantity of visitors. Furthermore, this trend can lead to the loss of cultural identity since cultural commercialisation usually ignores the pivotal values of culture. As a result, if culture is used as a tool to generate income, it will be attached little importance to a unique tradition, causing damage to the nature of culture.
On the other hand, I would argue that tourism is one of the most optimal ways to protect a culture. First, tourism can help spread the culture on a global scale since countries have witnessed an astonishingly increasing number of tourists from abroad. Hence, it can encourage younger generations to dedicate themselves to activities, thereby preventing cultural traditions from fading into obscurity. For instance, in Vietnam, many skillful artists make an attempt to teach and pass down their skills to not only local residents but also foreign travellers, contributing significantly to the maintenance of cultural identity. Besides, revenue from the tourism sector can be allocated to repairing and upgrading facilities of cultural tourism sites, thus enhancing visitors’ experience. In modern society, there is a tendency for information to be stored online instead of being written or printed in books like they used to be. From my perspective, I think this the positive aspects of this outweighs the negative ones.
It is certain that storing knowledge on the internet is more convenient for people to get access to. This can be seen from the way people can easily search for exactly right on information that they need through search engines, such as Google or Wikipedia, with a couple of clicks. However, this is not the case for books when people must spend a quite large amount of time to find necessary information.
