TOPIC: Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? It is sometimes argued that governments should allocate money to railway systems instead of road networks. To a certain extent, I agree that it may be true that investing in railways can bring many merits. However, I hold a strong view that there are many advantages to building roads. On the one hand, the opinion that spending money on roads rather than railroads is attractive for several reasons. Firstly, roads have improved connectivity more than railways. This can be explained by investing in building roads to enable better access to remote areas, markets, and amenities for people. For example, the project of linking isolated areas to the rest of the country in Brazil through road networks gained improved access to essential services, markets, and healthcare facilities in larger cities. Secondly, building railways can enhance trade and commerce. To explain, when governments squander money on roads, well-constructed roads facilitate the movement of goods and services, encouraging trade and commerce. On the other hand, there are a variety of reasons why I believe that governments should allocate money to railways. The first reason is that rail transport is more environmentally friendly than roads. This can be explained that when governments disburse money to railways, the number of people commuting by trains can increase significantly. As a result, this can cut individual carbon footprint and minimize the pollution state. For example, Germany can mitigate air pollution due to making significant investments in railway infrastructure of governments. Another significant reason is railways can reduce the number of vehicles circulating on the streets. Under certain assumptions, this can be construed as by providing a reliable alternative to cars, railways can help alleviate the strain on existing road infrastructure. This can reduce traffic congestion as well as accidents occurring among vehicles on the streets. For instance, the implementation of the high-speed railway system in Japan has significantly reduced traffic jams on major highways and improved the overall transportation experience for the public. In conclusion, while there are valid arguments against spending money on railways, the benefits of their development outweigh the drawbacks. Some people say that the experiences a child has before starting school have the most influence on their future life. Others say that experiences as a teenager, especially at school, are more influential. Discuss both views and give your own opinion? Nowadays, it is argued by some that the most influential years of a child’s life are before beginning school, whereas others believe that what a person experiences as a teenager has an impact significantly on their future life. This essay will further discuss the two sides of the issue and illustrate my viewpoint. On the one hand, it is undeniable that early-life circumstances influence a child’s life. Since the preschool age is the most impressionable, their core character tends to be formed during that period. This is because years under 7 have had fundamental learning experiences, and their first observation of the world happened at that time, which affected their memory and built the basis of their future actions and decisions. For example, children who grow up in a happy family will create strong family bonds with their parents, and have a sense of security and stability, which helps them develop confidence and higher self-esteem. By contrast, children in an unhappy family may experience feelings of anxiety, and stress, which can affect their mental health and social relationships. On the other hand, advocates of adolescence impacting one’s later life significantly are also able to come up with arguments to justify their opinion. First, a school is a diverse and multiple environment where children interact with peers and teachers, giving them opportunities to present new ideas and beliefs. As a result, children can broaden their horizons and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Second, as children mature, they have enough knowledge and responsibility to decide their future, especially to determine and orient their future careers. In fact, self-discovery and exploration are significantly important in shaping their personality and disposition towards life. In conclusion, although the treatment and upbringing of a child from 1 to 6 years old have a great influence on their later life, their teenage period is also influential in forming one’s world views and beliefs. Some think that governments should support retired people financially while others believe they should take care of themselves. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Some people have proposed that supporting retirees about finance is done by the government, whereas others say that the implementation of financial independence is optimally enhanced. Although both perspectives have a degree of rationale, I agree more with the former perspective due to one primary reason that would be evaluated in this essay. On the one hand, it is possible that there is one major reason why retired people should be responsible for paying their bills. In this day and age, the regulation of pension of people who finish their career is enacted and implemented for them which contributed to the development of the economy and nation in the past. As a result, retired people can allocate their pension monthly to pay for many bills such as water bills or daily bills in shops or markets. For instance, in Japan, the elderly people live on their own by living alone and using their salary as well as getting a job if they have enough health. On the other hand, opponents of the previous view claim that the state ought to bear supporting financially for the senior citizens.In the developing nations, the poverty rate is increasing at unprecedented rate which is happening mainly from the retired people by financial burden that worsens the quality of living and national development. Therefore, if the government wants to improve the quality of society’s life and reduce homeless people, endoring money for retirees is the optimal way. In Vietnam, for example, in the past, there were many soldiers who contributed for the peace and independence of the nation to have a better life in the present without the war. Consequently, the Vietnamese state provided them a sum considered as a way of compensation for their devotion for their country. In conclusion, although there are some controversial views whether or not the government or each individual takes responsibility for supporting financially, I believe that governments need to spend the state budget providing expenses for retired people.
