ANSWER: It is a fact that many people are becoming consumptive and materialistic because of their expensive things that they do not really need and cannot afford, therefore, getting into debt is quite popular among such people. There are various reasons that have caused this situation and in this essay, I will discuss them and give some measures that can prevent people from having this behavior. The first reason why many people are facing debt is due to consumptive lifestyles. With the development of social media such as Facebook, Instagram...more people want to show off their lives with luxurious things they have in society and the purpose of this is attracting many followers or fans. Many individuals are acceptable to get into debt to buy luxurious, costly items to show off themselves. That is quite a popular condition nowadays. Moreover, with the significant growth in the number of prestige and quality malls that attract people to spend much money on exorbitant things like clothes, jewelry which may not be necessary and even many people cannot buy it because of the costly prices but they regardless buy it with the desire to possess. As a result, many individuals are facing up with huge debt. There are some methods to prevent this problem. Firstly, people need to have a solid awareness of spending on things that are unnecessary or beyond their purchase. It must be ensured that the credit limit that is given to credit card holders is aligned with the individual’s income to spend money effectively. Instead of developing many luxurious malls, the government should focus on opening public parks or playgrounds to entertain. In conclusion, the development of social media and luxurious malls are the factors that make many people get into debt. Some people think that the increasing of computers and mobile phones for communication had a negative effect on young people's reading and writing skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Some people believe that the widespread use of digital devices such as smartphones and computers for communication have adverse impacts on people's literacy skills. Although electronic communication has some advantages, I firmly agree with this statement because this trend brings more harm than good. Granted, one might argue that there are some notable merits of using digital devices for communication. First of all, the availability of mobile phones or computers with the Internet connection can help people stay in touch with others from the comfort of their home. In fact, these devices are linked with messages and textings, which are modern forms of writing. Therefore, individuals can enhance their literacy by regularly with their messaging, texting, and emailing. Furthermore, thanks to technological advances, people can access a vast variety of reading materials, particularly on social media or reading websites by using their private phones or computers. As a result, they can access electronic books, news and magazines in order to broaden their knowledge and improve their reading skills as well. Nevertheless, I believe that the increasing use of these devices for communication leads to detrimental effects on an individual's literacy ability. First and foremost, young people tend to read short and informal texts since the growing popularity of social media. In fact, there is a lot of unofficial or inaccurate information through the Internet, which creates a challenge for young individuals to intelligently select the value data to read. As a result, they may come across and read false information, thereby affecting their reading ability. In addition, using technological devices deters people from realizing their mistakes. This is because, when writing words or paragraphs on computers or mobile phones, there is a tool to check and correct the spelling and grammatical mistakes automatically. Consequently, if electronic devices are not accessible, individuals are ill-equipped to write manually and grammatically. In conclusion, although there are some benefits of using mobile phones and computers for communication, such a development has resulted in the growth of communication misunderstandings and hindered the development of formal writing proficiency in young individuals. Buying things on the Internet such as books, air tickets and groceries is becoming more and more popular. Do the advantages of shopping in this way outweigh the disadvantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience. (BAI LAM) In this contemporary epoch, there is a phenomenon that people tend to purchase things throughout platforms on the internet. This essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this trend, and I believe that the merits overshadow the demerits. There are some reasons to advocate for this type of shopping such as time saving or cost-effectiveness. These days, people often live in hectic and modern lifestyles so traditional stores may not be appropriate for them. Additionally, due to the development of technology, most individuals posses a smartphone or laptop which act as a catalyst for scrolling on the internet to buy commodities. It is convenient when users can stay at home and order deliveries which are shipped in-person without reaching the traditional shops. Furthermore, they are able to compare the costs between different shops to easy to make the most suitable decision. For example, Shopee is an online shopping platform which gains popularity in Vietnam since it provides the variety of goods and coupons for deliveries and packages. On the other hand, when purchasing things on the internet is more and more common, some owners of traditional stores may be on the edge of bankruptcy because their guests can find similar products at the lower cost. In addition, sometimes, online buyers would not have chances to check the items before receiving, so they may buy the fake or dissimilar products. For some essential goods including cosmetics or medicines, if people buy the counterfeit ones, it could pose a threat to their skin or even their health. In conclusion, although there are several demerits of online shopping including an increasing unemployment rate or counterfeit products, I consider the merits still outweigh because of its time saving, cost-effectiveness, and modern individuals' adaption .
