Many countries have the same shops and products. Some consider it a positive development, whereas others consider it negative. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
One school of thought holds that the appearance of the same brands in various countries takes a toll on these very countries while others argue that could make a huge contribution. This essay will discuss both views before concluding that I am of the opinion with the former. On the one hand, it is understandable why some people propose that the development of international brands in a number of nations would place impediments on them. First and foremost, this trend gives a rise to the recess of domestic goods consumption since customers have a tendency to consume products from prestigious foreign brands. This, in turn, puts a strain on local companies due to the dominance of global retailers. take nike and addidas as a clear example, their sales account for seventy percent in the total consumption of shoes of vietnam in the last two decades. On the other hand, I subscribe to the view that globalization of renowned brands is a beneficial phenomenon in several countries. The key rationale is that it could boost economic growth. The more branches are opened, the more taxes the government would be paid. Consequently, the state has more budget to pour into other pressing issues namely health service and transportation. Furthermore, these branches provide local residents a variety of multicultural shopping options. Were these similar shops and goods to disappear, they would create inconvenience for clients as some kind of products need purchasing abroad. In conclusion, while there are justifications for opposing the emergence of similar stores and goods in several nations, I would content that this should be provoke due to the number of advantages mentioned One school of thought holds that the appearance of the same brands in various countries takes a toll on these very countries while others argue that could make a huge contribution. Many people around the world use social media to keep in touch with other people and get the news. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? *Essay: In a highly developed world, people not only use social media to stay connected with others but also acquire information. Although this tendency has some drawbacks, I confidently assert that its benefits overshadow these. Certainly, accessing social media may spark some problematic aspects. To begin, the majority of users are addicted. Since various intriguing content is equipped on these apps, it allows people to seek out the stressful world outside to comfortably entertain themselves. Without any intervention, they are progressively confined to it and suffer from numerous health problems, which are exemplified by the increase in the rate of obesity and near-sighted patients. In addition, people are threatened with social evils on social media. When the tendency of users accessing these apps rises dramatically, it acts as a catalyst for the appearance of cybercrime. As a result, they are vulnerable to cyber violence or personal information stolen, which shifts these into a dangerous environment. Despite the pernicious effects of this trend, I wholeheartedly believe that its merits are more significant and impactful. One key rationale in favor of this view is that its users can catalyze generally with social and particularly with relatives. Retrospectively, the distance curbed the connection between people as it took a long time for the recipient to receive messages from the senders. With the cultivation of social media, these problems are immediately eradicated, allowing people to communicate with the whole world just through a screen. Another justification is the effectiveness of the business field. The most persuasive instance can be witnessed in the COVID-19 pandemic when people abandoned going out, it helped them to continually take a conference through online meetings to maintain their work. Last but not least, social media advocates people to update news swiftly. By merely having Internet access, it is not sophisticated for them to search for any information, especially with youngsters, who extremely need the Internet to catch up with trends always updating on the social apps. In conclusion, while social media presents risks concerning privacy and physical health, its advantages in promoting connectivity and information dissemination are profound. The ability to bridge long distances instantly and the capacity to share urgent news quickly affirm that the benefits of social media far outweigh the drawbacks. Some say that news has no connection with most people’s lives and it is a waste of time for most of us to read newspapers and watch news programs. Do you agree or disagree? Many people believe news doesn't connect to most people’s lives and time-consume for most of them to read newspapers and watch news programs. From my perspective, I partly agree with this point of view. Granted, one might argue that there is no connection between news and people’s lives. This is probably predicated on the assumption that some news channels might share information that is not true and is made up. This is because when posting shocking and sensational news, they sometimes do not check if the news is right; they just care about how much profit they earn through the number of accesses. However, this reasoning is not sound because it fails to take into account the fact that news is an essential tool for warning people about danger and teaching them important things. For example, the COVID-19 epidemic was proof when people updated information on how the virus was spreading and how to prevent and get vaccinated day by day, so news is a crucial way to stay updated about uncertain events worldwide. Another contributing factor that makes me convinced of this idea is that it is not time-consuming to update changes happening locally and globally. Firstly, the news might be crucial for personal safety and preparedness for some events. For example, staying updated on weather forecasts, traffic conditions, or emergency situations can help one plan and respond appropriately. Secondly, by watching the news, people may broaden their horizons about different countries. In fact, not everyone has enough finance and time to undertake outbound travel so they can broaden their understanding of diverse cultures and global issues in different cultures, societies, and regions around the world. In conclusion, although news is extremely important for keeping up with what is happening around us, it is undeniable that we should be careful when reading news online and check it from another place to avoid messing up the facts. Some say that news has no connection with most people’s lives and it is a waste of time for most of us to read newspapers and watch news programs. Do you agree or disagree? Many people believe new... Many manufactory food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, Which causes many health problems. Sugar products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. Do you agree or disagree? In this day and age, there are a host of health issues that are triggered due to a wide range of factory food and drinks commodities that confine a colossal amount of suga. Thus, some opinions deemed that sugar items should be made more exorbitant to minimize the likelihood of consumption. Personally, I partly agree because of some reasons and arguments. It is understandable why people consider extortionate sugar goods to diminish the preference of consumers. Firstly, buyers would be incentivized to opt for healthier alternatives. As you know, sugar is a basic and easiest ingredient to make the flavor sweet, but others fruits or some vegetables such as apples, grapes,..could do as well. Thus, if clients can not buy sugar for high prices, they would convert it into other items. Furthermore, the initiative of increasing the price of sugar could catalyze broader shifts in attitudes towards sugar consumption. Given the high price in the market, consumers would tend to view sugar as a specific item and consistently delete it from their daily routine. Nevertheless, this thinking can be rejected due to some strong opposite evidence. For one, it would affect the revenue of the sugar company. There is a universal pattern of customers when the price of a product grows, it would no longer be misused in the society. As a result, reducing the prices of sugar items could affect the business significantly. Moreover, in clients' perspective, it could bring them face with the diploma of financial constraints. Since it would likely be hard for some social class, specifically disadvantages, to buy the alternatives for sugar due to their low-income which actually drive them to the strain. In conclusion, I somewhat agree due to some advantages when hiking the cost of sugar and disadvantages as well. Many manufactory food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, Which causes many health problems. Sugar products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. The given diagrams illustrate the stages of the silkworm's life and how silk cloth is produced. Overall, there are four main stages in the development of the silkworm's life and six steps recorded in the process of producting silk cloth. According to the diagram, the silkworm's life stage starts with being layed, which takes it 10 days to hatch and turn into silkworm larvae. Next these larvae feed on mulberry leaves, which is their exclusive food. After 4-6 weeks, these larvae are covered in silk threads that takes around 3-6 days to produce full cocoons. Consequently, moths are born after a period of being covered. It is clear that the first step in the production of silk cloth is selecting cocoons and boil them in water. Then, these boiled cocoons are unwound and several strands of thread are twisted together, which make up threads 300-900m in long. Finally, threads are woven into silk fabric and dyed after that or vice versa to release final products. Consumers are faced with increasing numbers of advertisements from competing companies. To what extent do you think are consumers influenced by advertisements? What measures can be taken to protect them? Consumers are inundated with an array of advertisements from competing companies. This essay argues that this trend may spell trouble for the safety net of consumer communities to a significant extent and suggests several viable remedies to avert the current issues. Admittedly, advertisements can be attributed to numerous drawbacks, one of which is the rise in excessive spending. Indubitably, advertisers, accompanied by corporate bodies have inclination to utilize celebrity endorsement to demonstrate the benefit of their merchandise, proportionally fostering an illusion in viewers’ mind that these promotional products are healthily beneficial. This mindset can lead to squandering expenditure on these items without caution. Given the adverse influence of promotions on consumers, several effectual solutions should be adopted to mitigate the drawback. One of the most effective measures is that governing bodies impose consumer protection law. Law agencies, for example, require all advertisements to undergo a rigid screening process, ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of the content of promotional goods. Education also plays a crucial role in addressing this current issue. Schools should teach children how to enhance critical-thinking skills. To this end, it is imperative to organize business models in academic setting, forcing children to analyze various situations. This will presumably make substantial contributions to informed purchasers in the face of allure of advertisements. In conclusion, the bombardment of marketing polices on buyers is significantly detrimental. This is one of the primary culprit of over-spending. However, the harmonious combination of governments’ intervention through stricter censorship of advertisements and the delivery of life skills through the taste of business activities can emerge as a wise approach to maintain sustainability of consumer communities. Task 2: Some people feel that the government should regulate the level of violence in films on television and at the cinema. Others feel that violent films should not be regulated. Discuss both views and give your opinion. People have differing views about whether or not the government should control the violent scenes in movies. While some argue that it is necessary to draw boundaries for violence content in films, I would believe that violence scenes should not be prohibited due to some reasons. On one side of the argument, there are many who claim that the authorities should ban scenes relating to violence. The first reason is protecting viewers, especially children. It means that children are not capable of controlling their behavior, so they can imitate violent scenes in movies. According to Murray 2000, children’s TV shows contain about 25 violent acts per hour that means they see about 10,000 violent acts per year and the percentage of children’s imitation is up to 75%. As a consequence, this can lead to the state that some children become fearful, anxious and depressed. The second reason is reducing negative impact. It can be explained that adults can misunderstand the value of violent scenes expressed by their favorite performers and they are left a negative influence on their psyche. Actor Adam Chaplin is a noticeable example when he acted violently, especially in the last bloody battle. Consequently, this can lead to antisocial behaviors which can put a serious threat to our society. However, I would be inclined to argue against this as I believe that the government should not forbid violent films. The primary reason is that this can limit creativity in the art of film editing. Under certain assumptions, this can be construed as regulations on violent actions on films may restrict director’s creativity and portray realistic scenarios. To illustrate movies relating to war or social issues, fighting scenes are indispensable. As a result, such films can lack their appeal and meaning expressed by filmmakers. Another significant reason is inconsistency in enforcement. This means that enforcement of regulations may vary across different regions or countries, leading to inconsistencies in what is considered acceptable contents. One example they often reference is that European movies are well-known for blockbuster films which can bring a huge profit for its film industry while Asian movies may tend to be gentle and emotional. It is rather clear to some extent, this may result in creating confusion and hinder international distribution of violent films. In conclusion, while some individuals think that violent scenes should be limited by the government, I strongly hold the view that it should not be banned due to limiting filmmakers’ creativity and inconsistency in enforcement. Task 2: Some people feel that the government should regulate the level of violence in films on television and at the cinema. Others feel that violent films should not be regulated. In this day and age, the education for teenagers plays a crucial role in a lot of several different nations. Nevertheless, there are some ideas that governments should invest in re-educating adults who are illiterate. From my perspective, I partly agree with this statement, and this essay will explore some benefits and the importance of education for these individuals’ lives on the grounds that literacy is a foundational skill that has a significant impact on each individuals’ lives. On the one hand, the prioritization of young people’s education in a lot of countries is needed. Moreover, with a wide range of necessary skills and knowledge can help them have more opportunities to become productive members of society. Besides, it also lays the foundation for informed and engaged citizenship, creating chances for personal fulfilment . Therefore, by providing quality educational opportunities to young people, countries can cultivate a more prosperous , equitable and vibrant society. By investing in those adults' available educational programs, the government can help them acquire the necessary skills to enhance the standard of life and make them more confident, active. Furthermore, with an emphasis on addressing adult illiteracy, the government can reduce the rates of unemployment, poverty and maintain social order. Moreover, adults who can not read and write can improve their literacy skills and can serve as positive role models for their generations on the grounds that this is a valuable lesson for younger generations of society. In conclusion, both educating the young and addressing adult literacy is crucial. Overall, there was an upward trend in the number of used beds in 3 hospitals from 1997 to 2006. In addition, there was a reduction in the funds allocated to in-patients who used beds between 2002 and 2006. Starting at 70 beds in the first initial year, the number of beds in Chinese hospitals slowly increased to 90 in 2002 and hit the highest point of more than 90. For Ukrainian hospitals, 55 beds were utilized in 1997, then reached a peak of more than 70 after 6 years, while it experienced a slight fall to 70 beds from 2003 to 2006. By contrast, the number of patient beds started at 40, after which it experienced a significant rise to 60 in 2003, before ending in 2006 at above 40. The line graph illustrates the production levels of Petroleum, Coal, and Natural gas in the UK over 19 years starting in 1981. It is clear that there were significant changes in the number of three main fuels shown on the graph. While Petroleum and Natural gas witnessed considerable increases, the quantity of Coal declined dramatically over the 19-year period. In 1981, Petroleum stood at just under 100 energy units, which was the highest and more than doubled the number of Natural gas, with only around 40 energy units. The second largest was Coal, at approximately 80 energy units. Over the following 10 years, the quantity of Natural gas increased slightly to about 50 energy units, which became joint-second with the number of Coal. In the year 1991, the levels of Petroleum produced in the UK saw a downward trend to around 100 energy units. From 1991 to 2000, the quantities of Petroleum and Natural gas escalated to about 140 and 100 energy units respectively, while the production levels of Coal dropped to just under 40 energy units and was exceeded by Natural gas.
