People living in the twenty-first century have a better quality of life than people who live in previous centuries. To what extent do you agree or disagree? The lives of people nowadays have developed significantly since the beginning of the twenty-first century in comparison to those in the previous centuries. While acknowledging the positive impacts of such development, I believe some challenges should be considered as well. Granted, numerous individuals have achieved a better life quality in this century thanks to many advancements, especially in medical and technological aspects. Regarding the former, breakthroughs in medical fields allow better healthcare services and treatment options, leading to increased life expectancy and the eradication of fatal diseases. This can be seen in the case of Covid-19, where the development of vaccines has saved many lives, which nearly cannot be achieved in the past. Another advantage is that technology has transformed communication, enhancing social bonds and emotional well-being. Life convenience is improved through online shopping and smart home devices, allowing the focus on more meaningful activities and contributing to overall productivity and comfort. Again, these apparent benefits might not have been obtained in the previous centuries. Nevertheless, despite the aforementioned progress, it would be unwise to overlook the difficulties and inequalities that still exist these days. Chief of these is that wealth disparity arguably affects many people, particularly the underprivileged groups, who, more often than not, are limited to access medical services. Another challenge can also be seen in the case of technology, which contributes to social isolation and the lack of depth in relationships, as virtual interactions are becoming dominant in communication. Job displacement and economic uncertainty resulting from automation and artificial intelligence also impact many workers’ overall quality of life since the productivity and efficiency of machines undeniably outweigh those of human beings. These obstacles are convincing evidence for the fact that the improvements in the twenty-first century cannot be overestimated compared to the follow-along effects. In conclusion, while it is true that the twenty-first century has seen many beneficial changes when it comes to the life quality of people, in this case, the medical and technological facets, I firmly hold the view that there are still several difficulties and disparities that should be well-considered. People living in the twenty-first century have a better quality of life than people who live in previous centuries. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Some people think that it's important to spend money on family celebrations (e.g. weddings, birthdays. However, some think that expensive celebrations are a waste of money. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Family festivities often act as a pivotal part to promote the sense of togetherness among family members. Therefore, it is widely believed that the expenditure on such events is compulsory, while some opt for the idea that money splurging should not be encouraged in such occasions. From my perspective, the spending on such events should not be used exorbitantly as it can be allotted for better practical purposes. On the one hand, it is justifiable that lavish spending on such occasions can strengthen the relationships among relatives. As family gathering events only happen on some special occasion, this is a rare chance for individuals to reunite and understand more about their status such as careers and well-being. For instance, by organizing events like birthday parties for children, they tend to have good memories of their childhood about their family, which acts as a precursor to the feeling of gratitude and the sense of responsibility to take care of their family in the future. Therefore, a strong bond of relatives will be the repercussions of the expenditure on these ceremonies. On the other hand, overspending on family celebrations can be seen as extravagant to some extent. Luxurious gathering events usually require a massive budget, which constantly reflects the social status of the party holder. To meet the high expectations from family members, the holder can be under great economical pressure or even go into debt just for having a short satisfying moment. Furthermore, this may enhance the inequality among relatives. Young adults may face peer pressure when being compared about their commodities when involving in these specific events. As a result, the meaning of a family reunion may be overshadowed by a competition of wealthiness among relatives. In conclusion, both views have their own merits; however, I am of the opinion that family milestones should be celebrated in order to promote the familial relationship as well as nurture the family values. However, the size and funding for the ceremonies should be moderated based on the family financial status. Family festivities often act as a pivotal part to promote the sense of togetherness among family members. em chào thầy cô ạ. Mong thầy cô chấm giúp em bài viết này ạ Task 1: The bar chart below describes some changes about the percentage of people were born in Australia and who were born outside Australia living in urban, rural and town between 1995 and 2010. The bar charts illustrate a few changes in the percentage of residents born both in and outside Australia in three distinct areas in 1995 and 2010. In general, the proportion of people who were born in cities (boroughs are towns) had a tendency to increase significantly while in contrast, the ratio of the population born in smaller areas witnessed an opposite trend. In the year of 1995, the birth rate of city dwellers of both inside and outside Australia accounted for more than half of the population at notably 50% and 60% respectively. This trend augmented so consecutively that in the year 2010, the ratio of residents born in Australia rose up to more than 60% and the ones who were born outside this continent peaked at 80%. On the contrary, the rate of people born in rural areas experienced an opposing tendency. After fifteen years, the data of new bornnewborn rural inhabitants had a dramatic decline from 30% down to nearly 20% for Australian and from 40% to a negligible number in its counterpart area. SimilarySimilarly, the population born in towns in both regions went down gradually with a steady decrease which was from 20% down low to 10%. em chào thầy cô ạ. Some children spend hours every day on their smartphones. Why is this the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative development? In this digital era, several youngsters dedicate daily hours to using their smartphones .From a personal viewpoint , it can bring advantages but also have many disadvantages. In this essay, I going to light up my viewpoint . One of the advantages of allowing children to use smartphones is can access many educational resources such as study apps or ebooks .It helps children to improve their knowledge and skills without having to face-to-face study and also develop skills that are not taught at school . For example , survival skill in the wild place may not be taught in class but with smartphones , they can easily learn how to protect themself in the uncovered place. However , the negative effects of using smartphones cannot be denied , especially in Health , Social and Emotion . The most popular impact of spent too much time playing on smartphones is physical health such as reduced memory of brain or eye strain . It also can make children become anti-social , not interested in outdoor activities, or exacerbate the development of face-to-face skill . An example , when children dedicate much time to playing games on smartphones without the supervision of the guardian , they can learn the attitudes and actions of the characters in the game . From that , children who spend hours each day using smartphones can easily have a negative impact on children's mental and physical health . To conclusion , using smartphones can have a positive effect . Additionally, it is necessary to understand and know about the disadvantages, especially the parents who should control the time limit of using smartphones of their children. Em mong cô chấm và nhận xét ạ, em cảm ơn cô: Some people claim that what many people eat in western countries is unhealthy food and that their diet is getting worse. Critics say that these countries should change their diet.
In the modern world, fast food is becoming more and more prevalent in Western countries, even becoming an indispensable part of Western people’s daily menus. This situation raises the thought that their diets are harmful to the human body and that these unhealthy diets are becoming worse. Some people strongly believe that it is necessary for them to alter their eating habits. I personally agree with the fact that numerous citizens in Western countries consume a large amount of junk food and they should consider modifying the types of food intake. In fact, via mass media, there are various news articles that told us how trendy processed food, convenience food, and junk food are in Western cultures. It is apparent to me that Western residents tend to consume a great deal of unhealthy food every day in their daily routines. For example, several fast food restaurant chains such as McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, and Pizza Hut are well-known and they hold so much appealing from individuals of all ages. Particularly, children may have a higher risk of becoming addicted to fried chicken, chips, or pizza if adults do not give them any advice. Thanks to its appetizing taste, convenience, and advertisers’ glamorization, unhealthy food including fast food, junk food, and processed food is getting more and more popular and gaining much attraction. Interestingly, they have been even treated as the main course in Western feasts or banquets for a long time. Overeating processed food can cause adverse effects on our bodies, leading to many diseases such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and so on due to a huge quantity of energy intake from sugar, saturated fat, trans fatty acids, and used oil. I strongly agree with the critics who hold the view that these countries should make changes to their diets. The thing is this is an effective way to prevent themselves from many detrimental illnesses or even fatal diseases. Nutritionists claim that “You are what you eat”. Undoubtedly, vegetables, fruits, or fish are potent ingredients that supply nutrients to the human body, and provide us with diverse vitamins, and minerals. As a result, eating more healthy food and drinking juice instead of consuming canned food, and fizzy drinks enables us to strengthen our immune, cardiovascular, and digestive systems so that it acts as a powerful shield to alleviate the risk of suffering from sickness. The government plays a vital role in spreading and encouraging healthy eating habits to the inhabitants for the sake of their health by organizing voluntary campaigns or via mass media. Take my country by way of example, there are many articles on newspapers that are written about food. They deliberately emphasize the importance and influence of healthy food to people. Furthermore, raising juvenile students’ awareness of healthy eating is compulsory in every schools in my country, with the purpose of nourishing children’s mindset about distinguishing between beneficial food and harmful one from a very young age. In conclusion, although becomes trendy and stylish in many Western countries, detrimental food also results in many negative and serious impacts on individuals’ physical bodies. Therefore, Western residents need to convert the food they eat in a healthier and more positive way in order to protect their well-being as well as organs inside their bodies. In the modern world, fast food is becoming more and more prevalent in Western countries, even becoming an indispensable part of Western people’s daily menus. The bar chart illustrates the number of visitors of three distinct categories to the museum over the course of 15 years, starting from 1997. Overall, it is clear that there were increases in the number of adult visitors and special exhibition visitors, while the reverse was true for visitors aged under 15. Additionally, the most significant difference was seen in adult visitors throughout the period. Regarding attention to adult guests, in 1997, there were 300,1000 attendees to a museum, recording the highest number. Over the following decade, their attendance experienced a significant rise, reaching a peak at 400,5000 visitors, before decreasing to 380,000 visitors in 2012, remaining in the peak position. Throughout the period, the data for guests aged under 15 and special exhibition visitors to a museum were lower, witnessing an inverse trend, with the former decreasing from 120,000 participants in 1997 to only 82,300 participants in 2012 and the latter increasing from 28,000 participants in 1997 to 42,000 participants in 2012. The charts below show UK and USA energy consumption in 2000 and 2006. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparation where relevant.
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of British and Americans’ consumption in five separate types of energy sources in the year 2000 and 2006. Overall, oil dominated the energy market of both countries over the given time frame, whereas other renewable sources were the least prevalent type in the UK and USA in the years examined. In 2000 and 2006, the rate of oil consumption in the USA initially peaked at approximately 37% and 40% respectively, while this kind of energy source in the UK constituted less than 10% in comparison with the USA in the first year of 2000s, then stood at exactly 30% six years later. The runner-up in 2000 is coal which accounted for over one third of energy consumption in the USA and more than 5% compared with the UK. However, the amount of coal used in both countries had decreased dramatically in 2006, in which year its figure fell over a half and a tenth in the USA and UK sequentially. Meanwhile, one of the most striking features is the significant increase in the percentage of gas utilization in both countries, which climbed more than a half to 38%. Nuclear power and other renewable sources are the least unpopular type with the British and American in the years surveyed, which witnessed a slight decline in six years. Nuclear power comprised around 16% of total British energy consumption in 2000 then dropped almost a half in 2006. Its figures in the USA were 8% and 6% respectively. Other renewable sources consist of a tiny minority of the UK’s energy use with slightly over a tenth in both years given. Turning to the USA, this type of energy source was responsible for 6% in 2000 and then dropped a half in 2006. Nowadays more people are choosing to live with friends or alone rather than with their families. This trend is likely to have a negative impact on communities. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
In the fast-paced world, it has become increasingly prevalent for individuals who tend to live with their mates in lieu of living with their families, which causes some people to believe that this tendency is conceivably to bring disadvantage to communities. I personally disagree with this point of view. In this essay, I will further elaborate and give relevant examples to support my arguments There are two main reasons why I suppose that living alone or with friends is not harmful to communities. Firstly, living alone or with friends can boost people's maturity and independence. For further explanation, living apart from families means that individuals are responsible for their lives, and they have to do everything by themselves, such as earning money for their own living expenses, doing housework, and so on. Consequently, they will certainly obtain numerous soft skills and gain more experience in their lives in comparison with those who live with their parents. Mature and experienced people are able to put great effort into social contributions for the sake of communities. For example, young people can take advantage of their skills, knowledge and experience to do voluntary work, take part in local cultural activities, or support local businesses, which can foster a sense of community and nourish local cultural identities as well as finance. Another reason is that living with friends or alone can give people opportunities to form close-knit social circles, develop more relationships, and make new friends without suffering from parents’ control. As a consequence, thanks to a wider network, individuals can undoubtedly get more job opportunities via friends’ introduction, which partly alleviates unemployment, bringing benefits to communities. Furthermore, it is apparent to me that living alone or with fellows offers freedom together with a comfortable life. Individuals are capable of traveling to their favorite places, eating the food they love or pursuing their hobbies. As a result, people will feel happier as they can live in their ideal world, which reduces the rate of anxiety and depression and brings positive energy to our communities. In conclusion, it is understandable that people choose to live alone or with their friends in lieu of with their families and this trend does not have any negative effect on communities. Conversely, it brings several advantages to individuals’ growth. People should have the right to decide their own lives. It is important to respect and support individuals’ choices rather than assuming that it will have a negative impact on communities. In the fast-paced world, it has become increasingly prevalent for individuals who tend to live with their mates in lieu of living with their families, which causes some people to believe that this ten... The internet has brought about many changes into our day to day life. Nowadays we are doing things such as mailing, communication much faster. Do these developments have more advantages than disadvantages? ESSAYS The internet has revolutionized people's lives. It has altered the way we communicate with one another, do business, and obtain information. Although the internet has both positive and bad characteristics, I believe that its merits outweigh its demerits. The Internet has facilitated our work life to a great extent. The invention of online conference calls or emails has provided us with much faster methods of communication. Another benefit that is online shopping and banking have saved people a great deal of time and effort. People today can sit at home and buy their groceries, books or household appliances from online sites such as Amazon or eBay and their stuff will be delivered at home. Moreover, transferring and withdrawing money has become very easy today with online facilities offered by most banks. Students gain from using the Internet as well. For example, Google today allows you to discover information on any topic in a matter of seconds. This has made it easier for us to study things in which we are interested but do not have access in a traditional classroom setting. On the other hand, a great deal of offensive and obscene content is available on the web and children have easy access to them. Many antisocial elements and terrorist groups like ISIS recruit youngsters through the internet. Internet addiction is another problem. Many people are now addicted to the internet and wasting their time. This can affect their career and relationships. Furthermore, the speed of the internet allows for the quick transmission of disinformation, allowing anarchy to reign in critical situations. As a dramatic example, during the COVID-19 outbreak, there were hundreds of resources circulating false information on the internet, generating worry and concern among citizens. In conclusion, the internet has benefitted individuals in a variety of ways. Despite its drawbacks, it may be effectively managed by enacting appropriate rules and regulations, as well as parental monitoring. It is suggested that all the young adults should undertake a period of unpaid work helping people in the community. Does it bring more benefits or drawbacks to the community and the young people? It is said that all young should do a job without being paid to help people in public. Although it has certain disadvantages, i would argue that its advantages are far greater. On the one hand, do an unpaid work can brings about a number of demerits for young people. Firstly, due to the development of social life, young individuals could feel discouraging if they can't earn money to live on. As a result, they have to depend on their family to making a living. Secondly, they may lose an chances to understand themselves because they spend time to support community, which have an negative effects on their orientation. If they are too concentrate on help public, they would not focus on their future and lose their career that they want. Nevertheless, the advantages of helping community without being paid are much more significant. The first reason is that, since young people contact with every body on a daily basis, they can improve their social communication skills. This allows them have life skills to deal with a hardship situation they could facing difficulties in social. Additionally, as young individuals have their own experience, they could have an opportunity to get a job with a high salary in the future. For example, young people who do volunteer activities, this could write on their job application and the recruiter would catch eyes on them. The chart below shows how frequently people in the USA ate in fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.
The bar chart illustrates how often Americans had meals in fast food eateries in three separate years 2003, 2006, and 2013. Overall, most people in the USA consumed fast food once a week or once or twice a month over the given time frame. By contrast, there was a minority of individuals who never came to fast food restaurants or went to them every day. The table illustrates the proportion of British in different age groups working in four separate fields in 1998 and 2006. Overall, there was a vast majority of the UK’s citizens taking part in the technology sector in 2006. By contrast, the number of working people at the age of 56 to 65 was the lowest in every area except education in the years surveyed. It is striking that working in the education field was the least popular with the youngest age group over the given time frame. Meanwhile, over one hundred thousand of workers who were from 26-55 joined this sector. Individuals belonging to the 56-65 age group also witnessed the largest number in education with 43.647 and 23.000 employees in 1998 and 2006, respectively compared with the other categories. Technology led the job market in 2006 with a huge quantity of the UK’s laborers. Notably, there were 454.375 British laborers at the age of 26-35 who had jobs relevant to technology. In a number of countries, some people think it necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
In several countries, it has become increasingly prevalent for individuals to suppose that spending a fortune on building new railway lines for a quicker journey among cities is crucial. On the other hand, other people think that existing public transport should be invested for enhancement. From my perspective, both qualities are of great significance in equal measure as these infrastructures are equivalently vital to human’s life and society’s development. In this essay, I will further elaborate both perspectives and give relevant examples to support my arguments. There is one key reason why large sums of money should be invested in constructing new railway lines for high-speech trains which travel through different nations. Notably, it rapidly boosts the convenience in terms of traveling for a long journey. As a consequence, the wide fast train network will attract more tourists and stimulate tourism, which can bring a lucrative income to countries, offer more job opportunities to local people and alleviate the rate of unemployment. Therefore, allocating a great deal of money for erecting new railway lines for high-speed trains should be encouraged. Regarding existing public transport, there are two principal motivations to allocate money for this area of infrastructure. First and foremost, it is undeniable that expanding the current network of public transport will certainly assist domestic traveling, make it more effortless and convenient for daily transportation. For further explanation, numerous students and working people who do not have any means of transport now can easily go to their schools and companies thanks to public transports. For example, thousands of people go to work by subway trains and public transports are considered as an indispensable part of their lives. Another reason is the environmental benefit that public transport brings to humans. Thanks to it, the number of personal vehicles is reduced significantly, which results in the decline regarding exhaust fumes and traffic congestion. Consequently, humans can prevent the Earth from pollution. The air quality will be improved, decreasing the risk of suffering from lung diseases. From these above advantages, it is necessary to spend money upgrading existing public transport. In conclusion, both points of view are reasonable. I hold the opinion that the budget invested into public transport improvement and railway lines for very fast trains should be measured and divided equally and reasonably as both of them are beneficial to the growth of countries. In several countries, it has become increasingly prevalent for individuals to suppose that spending a fortune on building new railway lines for a quicker journey among cities is crucial. Views on what constitutes human characteristics today clearly influence human psychology and mental growth. My point is that character development and personality cultivation are greatly aided by the everyday lessons learned from human experience. First and quite fundamental, human characteristics are very important while parenting a child because they help shape their behavior in this world. They could still be modified, though, in order to accommodate external changes. As a result, this is the foundational phase in which parents can shield their kids from negative consequences. With the grower stage, kids are now teenagers, old enough to mostly take care of themselves and no longer need their parents' protection. At this point, external variables have the ability to quickly affect and greatly compromise their traits. For example, when they first started their temporary part-time employment, they were a committed, caring person. But after those harsh and unfair competitions, their traits progressively shift. They then modify and select a different approach to develop a whole different trait. Adulthood causes people to become more aware of what is good and bad. They select the best course of action and appropriate therapy for their behaviors based on the physical surroundings in which they operate. In conclusion, I do not think that characteristics have much more influence on our personality and development but the experiences we have in our life. They heavily affect and adjust the way we live in our lives. Views on what constitutes human characteristics today clearly influence human psychology and mental growth. My point is that character development and personality cultivation are greatly aided by the... Xem thêm
