Question: The availability of entertainment such as electronic on portable devices is harmful to individuals and the society they live. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Answer: The available entertainment such as electronic games on portable devices is toxic to individuals and the society they live. While I agree that the available entertainment has brought many advantages, I argue that it has also brought many disadvantages. On the one hand, the availability of entertainment on handheld devices is advantageous in many ways. First and foremost, video games and other types of entertainment serve as excellent relaxation tools for people who suffer from high level of work-related stress. By this I mean, these convenient sources of entertainment allow people to relieve stress whenever they want. Either during breaks or after a long day at work, without having any impact on their productivity. Additionally, many mobile games help to create global communities for people sharing the same passion. A vivid example is that League of Legends has successfully hosted international events and competitions, and therefore connected millions or billions of players together from all over the world. On the other hand, entertainment on handheld devices can bring about several negative impacts. Firstly, many young people nowadays spend too much time on their devices since video games could be addicting, and thus isolate themselves from their families and friends. The lack of face-to-face interaction not only hurts many real-life relationships but also increases the risk of mental health problems among the youth. Secondly, when people waste a huge amount of time on video games, they tend to be less active that can eventually lead to a society of people living sedentary life. Lack of exercise over a long time makes people susceptible to metabolic diseases such as obesity, sticking eyes to the screen for a long period causes eye diseases like eyeshortedness. Moreover, it causes the deterioration of health and burdening a healthcare system. In conclusion, although the availability of entertainment on portable devices can result in many risks of healthy, they can also be effective stress relievers for many people and encourage the networking of like-minded individuals on the globe. Question: Scientific research should be carried out and controlled by private companies rather than governments. Do the advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages? Answer: It is true that some people believe that private enterprise should be responsible for conducting scientific research. While I agree that this trend may bring some benefits to some extent, I hold a firm belief that these advantages are outweighed by its disadvantages. On the one hand, there are many benefits to private companies conducting and controlling scientific research. Firstly, private companies often respond more rapidly to demand than governments. People who invest money in these companies are greedy to make the most of any business opportunity. Secondly, huge amounts of money become immediately available for these corporations to conduct research which might maximise profits. A vivid example is that the outbreak of an epidemic such as the corona virus presents a spectacular opportunity for the pharmaceutical industry. In the search for a cure, the first company develops a vaccine standing to make a vast fortune, whether governments buy the vaccine or people have to buy it themselves On the other hand, I am of the opinion that these advantages are overshadowed by its disadvantages. First of all, the scientific research is carried out according to public well-being, not for profits. Private companies can’t provide funding for university departments to carry out research according to public need. Advances in technology and knowledge to achieve sustainable development would be used to benefit people, not investors. Consequently, research into areas likes preventive medicine or alleviating environmental problems, although not profitable, is essential . Secondly, as competition between companies increases, knowledge sharing through international collaboration among the scientific community will be decreased. By this I mean, competition for projects, relationship and investments has made it difficult for private companies to focus solely on those things In a nutshell, from my aforementioned pointed, it is my strong reaffirmation that despite some advantages of scientific research by private companies, its disadvantages are by far more significant. Question: Scientific research should be carried out and controlled by private companies rather than governments. Do the advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages? Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports which are played in teams, like football. But others think taking part in individual sports is better, like swimming. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. In recent times people are more mindful of playing sports to promote and maintain a good health. There are two types of playing sport one is played in group, and one is played individually. Many people think that doing sports in group is better than play individually, but the other do not. I will discuss both views before giving my opinion. First and foremost, participating in sports which is played in teams brings a lot of advantages to players. Playing a sport in group can help people get to know more each other, it also strengthen people's teamwork ability. When take part in sports played in teams people can have an opportunity to make friends. Furthermore, they can share their experience about the sports they play, learn more from their partners. It is a crucial fundamental for a strong social cohesion. For example, Vietnamese people frequently go to the park playing badminton or doing aerobics together in every morning. They said they felt happier when doing sports with a partner. It proves that playing sports in teams not only enhance people's physical health but also their mental health. On the other hand, there are some reasons supporting the statement that participating in individual sports is more efficient. Taking part in sole sports makes people putting all their concentration on playing. From that the effectiveness the sports bring can promote all. For instance, many professional sport players have shared that the key technique to master in one particular sport is to practice it alone. In conclusion, I am quite in favour of the idea saying that take part in sports played in teams. However, playing sports in team or individually is better based on people's hobby and how they adapt it. Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports which are played in teams, like football. But others think taking part in individual sports is better, like swimming. Essay: The line graph given illustrates a comparison of the proportion of various generations visiting cinema in a country between 1978 and 2008. Question: The average standard of people’s health health is likely to be lower in the future than it is now Do you agree or disagree Answer: Many people believe that the typical standard of human’s health will be increased in the future. Although, this tendency has some right points, however, I completely disagree with this issue. With the rapid development of society, the residents are more and more busier than before, from that, they don’t have much time in order to take care of their health. It means that people will have a tendency to eat fast food and drink more coffee, gas beverages, which has a negative impact on them, such as obesity or heart disease. Additionally, Work environment can change in the future and will require working with many toxic chemicals, which is a huge risk with human’s health. For instance, working in the nuclear factories will put people in danger which is contaminated with radiation and destroy the health of workers. In the future, there will be many achievements of science to serve the medical field. Scientists will invent lots of facilities or drugs, and construct more methods to treat diseases. For example, vacxin COVID-19 was produced in order to kill coronavirus; from that, the government avoided this epidemic and saved the lives of many people in many countries around the world. Furthermore, The education will able to improve strongly and will teach many talent people who interest about medical. From that, there will be more and more people study in order to the doctor, nurse or pharmacist, then, these professional human will contribute positive impacts on people’s health. In conclusion, although the health of humans can be endangered by some factors, there will be many inventions and professional people to help us maintain a healthy life. In my opinion, I believe that this issue also depends on the authorities of each country who will give some solutions to solve the risks and improve the average standard of human’s health according to beneficial directions. Đề: The graph below shows a typical American and a Japanese office Bài làm: The provided pictures depict the layout of typical offices in Japan and America. To summarize, there are some several differences between Japanese workplace and American one. The most important of which are that the Japanese offices prioritize communal spaces, whereas the American ones tend to favor individual workstation, by providing private rooms for managers and various functional spaces. Looking more closely at the Japanese office layout, tables of members in the same team are placed together to facilitate group discussions, forming two large areas, each of which is overseen by a section manager. However, the space of an American office is divided into separate areas, with high walls to minimize distractions. Additionally, not only is there a room for a department manager, but it is also available for two section managers. Another difference is that while the American working space has four rooms designed for different purposes, including one for a printer, one for storage, and the other two for conferences, there are no such facilitates in the Japanese one. In addition, windows in the former type of office are put at the front, compared to the latter, which has windows on the opposing sides.
