Scientists believe that computers will become more intelligent than human beings. Some people find it is positive while others think it is a negative development. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The life quality of humans has changed significantly since the breakthroughs of technology. The fact that researchers believe in the superiority of computers to humans has raised a controversial debate on whether this is positive or negative. This essay will discuss both perspectives before stating my opinion. On the one hand, computers with high intelligence can significantly enhance efficiency and productivity. They can process vast amounts of data, solve complex problems, and perform tasks at speeds far beyond human capabilities. The logistics sector is an exemplar of this argument since computers can simultaneously sort, track, and update a tremendous number of deliveries relentlessly and effortlessly at extremely high precision and speed in a bit of seconds. However, this can be seen as disadvantageous for humans because as computers become more intelligent, there is a concern about the displacement of jobs. The automation of various tasks could lead to unemployment in some sectors, potentially threatening the livelihoods of many workers, given how effective and productive computers can be. On the other hand, highly intelligent computers could accelerate scientific research and discovery. They might be able to analyse complex data sets, simulate experiments, and generate hypotheses at a pace that human researchers cannot match. Many medications and vaccines have been produced to tackle some diseases that were seemingly uncurable in the past, thanks to computers. Again, this progress means that without this form of support, humans’ well-being can be easily at risk, and such overreliance can lead to a loss of essential human skills, potentially diminishing human cognitive capabilities and decision-making skills. In conclusion, although the intelligence of computers can help humans attain many achievements in terms of effectiveness, productivity and progress, I believe the drawbacks of this development may eclipse its benefits in the long run when it comes to the employability and livelihood of numerous labourers, as well as the human nature because of the overdependence on such technology. Scientists believe that computers will become more intelligent than human beings. Some people find it is positive while others think it is a negative development. The table illustrates how much milk was produced per year in four nations, namely the Netherlands, Australia, Tanzania, and Guatemala, in 1990, 2000, and 2010. Overall, the amount of milk produced in the Netherlands was consistently the highest over the period, while the opposite was true for that of Guatemala. Additionally, despite the yearly milk production amount in Australia declining, it was still higher than the figures for Tanzania and Guatemala, both of which experienced rises. Regarding two countries with a minimum production of 9 million litres, in the first half of the period, both the Netherlands and Australia saw slight decreases in the annual amount of milk made, from 11262 thousand litres and 11246 thousand litres in 1990 to 11155 thousand and 11105 thousand in 2000 respectively. However, in the latter half of the period, the former recovered and ended at 11466 thousand litres in 2010, while the latter fell continually to 9165 thousand litres that year. As for the others, 87 thousand litres of milk were produced in Tanzania in the first year, four times higher than Guatemala’s figure, at 26 thousand litres. The yearly milk production activity in these two countries grew considerably after two decades, with Tanzania remaining higher, reaching 155 thousand litres in the final year, while Guatemala ended at just below Tanzania’s initial level. em chào thầy cô ạ, thầy cô xem giúp em bài task 2 này được không ạ Task 2: Nowadays, not enough students choose science subjects in university in many countries. What are the reasons for this problem? What are the effects on society? Currently, the quantity of pupils that have a choice of studying in the scientific curriculum at university in several nations is not positive. So what are the main rationales of this argument and what impacts will it have on a social basis? I will shed the light on this argument in my essay below. On the first hand, there are many reasons which result in fewer learners choosing to major in science. First of all, it could be said that science is such an academic field that only a minority of students have ability to comprehend it in-depth. In the previous century, science and technology were the tendency and had more opportunities in job market. That is the reason why youngsters prefer to choose science subjects. Having said that, as time goes by, students realize that it is impossible for them to pursue their scientific career without passion, endurance and particularly intelligence. Secondly, some of science subjects such as physics, mathematics, computer science or biology have required learners to higher standards about learners’ levels. A vivid implication of this circumstance is that whenever students are required to have comments about science, it is frequently the description of an unintelligible subject or uncomprehensible so they have a tendency to make a decision to take trendy subjects or some kinds of intelligible modules which they find them easy to study. On the flip side, despite objective conditions, it could not be denied that the fewer students majoring in science, the more serious impacts on society. Anually, there are a considerable amount of positions in scientific company lack of proficient workforce. This is because graduated students majoring in science decrease significantly. This means one individual must take responsibility for more tasks and it could lead to increase working pressure. Moreover, there are some kinds of preconceptions about scientific modules in studying that could make people have negative attitudes towards this field. It could result in there are fewer and fewer learners choosing science. It could be said that lack of people studying science has serious consequences. In conclusion, for the time being, there are not enough students considering science and they no longer choose it to study in-depth. This issue actually brings back a range of effects on society. In my opinion, it is essential to have a strategic plan in the future to resolve it. em chào thầy cô ạ, thầy cô xem giúp em bài task 2 này được không ạ Task 2: Nowadays, not enough students choose science subjects in university in many countries. The picture illustrates the temperature levels and characteristics of tropical and temperate mountains. Overall, the tropical mountains are far higher than the temperate ones, with much more variety in terms of plantations and cultivational conditions. Regarding tropical mountains, the lowest level called the warm zone, up to about 600m, is optimal for various tropical crops. Triple this height is the limit of the temperate zone, which is available for coffee and cocos cultivations, followed by the cool zone, with 1.2km more in height, possible for cultivating grain crops. The forest zone starts from this height, which is also the limit for broad-leaf trees, spanning just under 4km. An additional 500m is begin of the alpine meadows, with the limit for pine and firs to grow, and the final level of permanent snow, peaking at 5.5km. As for the temperate mountains, the initial 1.5km is the cool zone, a general environment for planting grains, potatoes, or flax. The next zone – the forest, is situated in the next 500m from the limitation of broad-leaf trees. From 2km to just below 1km is the alpine meadows, which is the sub-top zone, commenced by the limit for spruce. People living in the twenty-first century have a better quality of life than people who live in previous centuries. To what extent do you agree or disagree? The lives of people nowadays have developed significantly since the beginning of the twenty-first century in comparison to those in the previous centuries. While acknowledging the positive impacts of such development, I believe some challenges should be considered as well. Granted, numerous individuals have achieved a better life quality in this century thanks to many advancements, especially in medical and technological aspects. Regarding the former, breakthroughs in medical fields allow better healthcare services and treatment options, leading to increased life expectancy and the eradication of fatal diseases. This can be seen in the case of Covid-19, where the development of vaccines has saved many lives, which nearly cannot be achieved in the past. Another advantage is that technology has transformed communication, enhancing social bonds and emotional well-being. Life convenience is improved through online shopping and smart home devices, allowing the focus on more meaningful activities and contributing to overall productivity and comfort. Again, these apparent benefits might not have been obtained in the previous centuries. Nevertheless, despite the aforementioned progress, it would be unwise to overlook the difficulties and inequalities that still exist these days. Chief of these is that wealth disparity arguably affects many people, particularly the underprivileged groups, who, more often than not, are limited to access medical services. Another challenge can also be seen in the case of technology, which contributes to social isolation and the lack of depth in relationships, as virtual interactions are becoming dominant in communication. Job displacement and economic uncertainty resulting from automation and artificial intelligence also impact many workers’ overall quality of life since the productivity and efficiency of machines undeniably outweigh those of human beings. These obstacles are convincing evidence for the fact that the improvements in the twenty-first century cannot be overestimated compared to the follow-along effects. In conclusion, while it is true that the twenty-first century has seen many beneficial changes when it comes to the life quality of people, in this case, the medical and technological facets, I firmly hold the view that there are still several difficulties and disparities that should be well-considered. People living in the twenty-first century have a better quality of life than people who live in previous centuries. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Some people think that it's important to spend money on family celebrations (e.g. weddings, birthdays. However, some think that expensive celebrations are a waste of money. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Family festivities often act as a pivotal part to promote the sense of togetherness among family members. Therefore, it is widely believed that the expenditure on such events is compulsory, while some opt for the idea that money splurging should not be encouraged in such occasions. From my perspective, the spending on such events should not be used exorbitantly as it can be allotted for better practical purposes. On the one hand, it is justifiable that lavish spending on such occasions can strengthen the relationships among relatives. As family gathering events only happen on some special occasion, this is a rare chance for individuals to reunite and understand more about their status such as careers and well-being. For instance, by organizing events like birthday parties for children, they tend to have good memories of their childhood about their family, which acts as a precursor to the feeling of gratitude and the sense of responsibility to take care of their family in the future. Therefore, a strong bond of relatives will be the repercussions of the expenditure on these ceremonies. On the other hand, overspending on family celebrations can be seen as extravagant to some extent. Luxurious gathering events usually require a massive budget, which constantly reflects the social status of the party holder. To meet the high expectations from family members, the holder can be under great economical pressure or even go into debt just for having a short satisfying moment. Furthermore, this may enhance the inequality among relatives. Young adults may face peer pressure when being compared about their commodities when involving in these specific events. As a result, the meaning of a family reunion may be overshadowed by a competition of wealthiness among relatives. In conclusion, both views have their own merits; however, I am of the opinion that family milestones should be celebrated in order to promote the familial relationship as well as nurture the family values. However, the size and funding for the ceremonies should be moderated based on the family financial status. Family festivities often act as a pivotal part to promote the sense of togetherness among family members. The bar charts illustrate a few changes in the percentage of residents born both in and outside Australia in three distinct areas in 1995 and 2010. In general, the proportion of people who were born in cities (boroughs are towns) had a tendency to increase significantly while in contrast, the ratio of the population born in smaller areas witnessed an opposite trend. In the year of 1995, the birth rate of city dwellers of both inside and outside Australia accounted for more than half of the population at notably 50% and 60% respectively. This trend augmented so consecutively that in the year 2010, the ratio of residents born in Australia rose up to more than 60% and the ones who were born outside this continent peaked at 80%. On the contrary, the rate of people born in rural areas experienced an opposing tendency. After fifteen years, the data of new bornnewborn rural inhabitants had a dramatic decline from 30% down to nearly 20% for Australian and from 40% to a negligible number in its counterpart area. Some children spend hours every day on their smartphones. Why is this the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative development? In this digital era, several youngsters dedicate daily hours to using their smartphones .From a personal viewpoint , it can bring advantages but also have many disadvantages. In this essay, I going to light up my viewpoint . One of the advantages of allowing children to use smartphones is can access many educational resources such as study apps or ebooks .It helps children to improve their knowledge and skills without having to face-to-face study and also develop skills that are not taught at school . For example , survival skill in the wild place may not be taught in class but with smartphones , they can easily learn how to protect themself in the uncovered place. However , the negative effects of using smartphones cannot be denied , especially in Health , Social and Emotion . The most popular impact of spent too much time playing on smartphones is physical health such as reduced memory of brain or eye strain . It also can make children become anti-social , not interested in outdoor activities, or exacerbate the development of face-to-face skill . An example , when children dedicate much time to playing games on smartphones without the supervision of the guardian , they can learn the attitudes and actions of the characters in the game . From that , children who spend hours each day using smartphones can easily have a negative impact on children's mental and physical health . To conclusion , using smartphones can have a positive effect . Additionally, it is necessary to understand and know about the disadvantages, especially the parents who should control the time limit of using smartphones of their children. Em mong cô chấm và nhận xét ạ, em cảm ơn cô: Some people claim that what many people eat in western countries is unhealthy food and that their diet is getting worse. Critics say that these countries should change their diet.
In the modern world, fast food is becoming more and more prevalent in Western countries, even becoming an indispensable part of Western people’s daily menus. This situation raises the thought that their diets are harmful to the human body and that these unhealthy diets are becoming worse. Some people strongly believe that it is necessary for them to alter their eating habits. I personally agree with the fact that numerous citizens in Western countries consume a large amount of junk food and they should consider modifying the types of food intake. In fact, via mass media, there are various news articles that told us how trendy processed food, convenience food, and junk food are in Western cultures. It is apparent to me that Western residents tend to consume a great deal of unhealthy food every day in their daily routines. For example, several fast food restaurant chains such as McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, and Pizza Hut are well-known and they hold so much appealing from individuals of all ages. Particularly, children may have a higher risk of becoming addicted to fried chicken, chips, or pizza if adults do not give them any advice. Thanks to its appetizing taste, convenience, and advertisers’ glamorization, unhealthy food including fast food, junk food, and processed food is getting more and more popular and gaining much attraction. Interestingly, they have been even treated as the main course in Western feasts or banquets for a long time. Overeating processed food can cause adverse effects on our bodies, leading to many diseases such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and so on due to a huge quantity of energy intake from sugar, saturated fat, trans fatty acids, and used oil. I strongly agree with the critics who hold the view that these countries should make changes to their diets. The thing is this is an effective way to prevent themselves from many detrimental illnesses or even fatal diseases. Nutritionists claim that “You are what you eat”. Undoubtedly, vegetables, fruits, or fish are potent ingredients that supply nutrients to the human body, and provide us with diverse vitamins, and minerals. As a result, eating more healthy food and drinking juice instead of consuming canned food, and fizzy drinks enables us to strengthen our immune, cardiovascular, and digestive systems so that it acts as a powerful shield to alleviate the risk of suffering from sickness. The government plays a vital role in spreading and encouraging healthy eating habits to the inhabitants for the sake of their health by organizing voluntary campaigns or via mass media. Take my country by way of example, there are many articles on newspapers that are written about food. They deliberately emphasize the importance and influence of healthy food to people. Furthermore, raising juvenile students’ awareness of healthy eating is compulsory in every schools in my country, with the purpose of nourishing children’s mindset about distinguishing between beneficial food and harmful one from a very young age. In conclusion, although becomes trendy and stylish in many Western countries, detrimental food also results in many negative and serious impacts on individuals’ physical bodies. Therefore, Western residents need to convert the food they eat in a healthier and more positive way in order to protect their well-being as well as organs inside their bodies. In the modern world, fast food is becoming more and more prevalent in Western countries, even becoming an indispensable part of Western people’s daily menus. The charts below show UK and USA energy consumption in 2000 and 2006. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparation where relevant.
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of British and Americans’ consumption in five separate types of energy sources in the year 2000 and 2006. Overall, oil dominated the energy market of both countries over the given time frame, whereas other renewable sources were the least prevalent type in the UK and USA in the years examined. In 2000 and 2006, the rate of oil consumption in the USA initially peaked at approximately 37% and 40% respectively, while this kind of energy source in the UK constituted less than 10% in comparison with the USA in the first year of 2000s, then stood at exactly 30% six years later. The runner-up in 2000 is coal which accounted for over one third of energy consumption in the USA and more than 5% compared with the UK. However, the amount of coal used in both countries had decreased dramatically in 2006, in which year its figure fell over a half and a tenth in the USA and UK sequentially. Meanwhile, one of the most striking features is the significant increase in the percentage of gas utilization in both countries, which climbed more than a half to 38%. Nuclear power and other renewable sources are the least unpopular type with the British and American in the years surveyed, which witnessed a slight decline in six years. Nuclear power comprised around 16% of total British energy consumption in 2000 then dropped almost a half in 2006. Its figures in the USA were 8% and 6% respectively. Other renewable sources consist of a tiny minority of the UK’s energy use with slightly over a tenth in both years given. Turning to the USA, this type of energy source was responsible for 6% in 2000 and then dropped a half in 2006. Nowadays more people are choosing to live with friends or alone rather than with their families. This trend is likely to have a negative impact on communities. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
In the fast-paced world, it has become increasingly prevalent for individuals who tend to live with their mates in lieu of living with their families, which causes some people to believe that this tendency is conceivably to bring disadvantage to communities. I personally disagree with this point of view. In this essay, I will further elaborate and give relevant examples to support my arguments There are two main reasons why I suppose that living alone or with friends is not harmful to communities. Firstly, living alone or with friends can boost people's maturity and independence. For further explanation, living apart from families means that individuals are responsible for their lives, and they have to do everything by themselves, such as earning money for their own living expenses, doing housework, and so on. Consequently, they will certainly obtain numerous soft skills and gain more experience in their lives in comparison with those who live with their parents.
