One day, Baby-Frog was jumping in the woods. He saw someone slender and colorful like a rainbow. "Hello," said Baby-Frog. "What are you doing here?"

"I am sunbathing," said the new friend. "I am Baby-Snake. Who are you?"

"I am Baby-Frog. Do you want to play?" he asked.

Baby-Frog and Baby-Snake played in the sun. Baby-Frog jumped high in the air. "I can teach you," he told Baby-Snake. Baby-Frog taught Baby-Snake to hop. They hopped along the path together.

Then Baby-Snake said, "Watch this!" He crawled up a tree. "I can teach you, too." Baby-Snake taught Baby-Frog to slide on his belly and climb trees. They had fun until they got hungry. They promised to meet again the next day.

At home, Baby-Frog showed his mother how he crawled. "Where did you learn this?" she asked.

"Baby-Snake taught me. He is my new friend," said Baby-Frog.

"Don't play with Snakes," said his mother. "They can be dangerous."

Baby-Snake went home and showed his mother how he hopped. "Who taught you?" she wanted to know.

"Baby-Frog did. He is my friend," Baby-Snake replied.

"Frogs are not our friends," said his mother. "Next time, catch him and eat him."

The next day, Baby-Frog met Baby-Snake. "I can't play today," Baby-Frog said, moving back a bit.

Baby-Snake thought about what his mother said, but he remembered their fun day together. "If I come too close, I might hurt him," Baby-Snake worried.

Both remembered their moms' words and went away sadly. They never played again, but often thought about their happy day together.

The story shows the virtue of friendship. Baby-Frog and Baby-Snake enjoyed each other's company and taught each other new things. You can practice friendship by being kind and playing with others. Teach and learn from friends, like Baby-Frog and Baby-Snake did.
