By contrast, the figure for bus, starting at 40 kilometers in the first year, recorded a modest growth to under 45 kilometers at the end of the period. Similarly, rail travel underwent the same rate, rising from around 37 kilometers to nearly 40 kilometers during the same period. In terms of the two remaining means of transport, in 1990, people traveled the least by bicycle and motorbike with distances of less or more 5 kilometers. The increase in the pursuit of new job opportunities resulting from the migration of many people to different parts of the world these days is being argued more and more. Some people suggest that moving away from the birthplace could be a golden chance to find advancement in careers. In this essay, both the advantages and disadvantages of this above information will be discussed before my individual perspective provides which one outweighs. On the one hand, geographical alteration for professional pursuits creates a wider range of career opportunities that potentially exceed those available in one's local place. This can result in not only professional growth but also increased earning potential by the same token, enabling individuals to improve their standard of living and possibly contribute financially to the well-being of their families. One further benefit can be witnessed here is that participating in diverse cultural fields and traditional perspectives. This might be a necessary support in order to foster personal development by enlarging one's horizons and enriching their understanding of the world, providing significant chances for sharing points of view and communicating among different cultures. On the other hand, the prosperity and satisfaction of career enhancement cannot adequately compensate for the fundamental social and emotional costs involved. From a social angle, the physical separation from one's established environment, including family and friend relationships, disrupts the developing foundation of an individual in creating a comprehensive mature system. This interruption can lead to a string of isolation, loneliness, and emotional damage, ultimately hindering personal well-being. Furthermore, missing important life events and milestones of loved ones can be a very detrimental ground that damages one's emotions and worsens the sense of detachment with the familiar feeling, unfortunately occurring depression and anxiety. These mental problems may, in turn, affect their long-term professional success and fulfillment, thus defeating the original purpose of relocating. In conclusion, leaving family and friends in order to seek work opportunities in a different place can help people progress in their careers and grow as a person. Unfortunately, these positive effects obviously cannot outweigh the drawbacks that such a decision can bring to one's social and emotional life. The plans below show a public when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
The pictures illustrate how Grange Park has been changed since 1920. Overall, amenities and facilities have been added and developed to accommodate musical performances, children, food and beverage needs, and parking. In 1920, amenities in the park were relatively limited. The park could be accessed via two entrances on Arnold Avenue and Eldon Street. The glasshouse was to the right of an entrance from Eldon Street, opposite which was a pond for water plants. Meanwhile, the fountain was in the central area, to the left of which was the stage for musicians. Seats and rose gardens were scattered throughout the park, except for the position of the glasshouse and the pond, and most of them were near the vicinity of the stage. Presently, the park has been upgraded significantly. The only elements that remain unchanged are the two entrances and the rose garden on Arnold Avenue near the stage, which has been modernised into an amphitheatre for concerts. Additionally, the fountain has been erected into a new rose garden surrounded by seats, and the rose garden next to the pond has been removed, allowing the addition of a café. Finally, the pond has been upgraded to a water feature and replaces the glasshouse, making space for a newly-built children’s playground, along with the construction of an underground car park. Topic: Some people think that success in life comes from hard work and determination while others think that there are more important factors such as money and appearance. Discuss both views and give your opinion. While some people are in the opinion that diligence and determination are essential contributors to achievement in life, others believe that wealth and physical attractiveness are more significant. In this essay, I will delve into both viewpoints and lean towards the latter. On the one hand, it is undeniable that money and personal appearance play a vital role in leading to success. The main point is that money can facilitate individuals’ career paths by providing a well-rounded education which is believed to be the shortest way to success. To illustrate, most of the rich can embark on high-quality education without financial burden, therefore, they can apply themselves to academic performance and hands-on experience to enhance their knowledge and interpersonal skills. This opens doors to secure jobs in the future. Another catalyst is that an attractive appearance is a primary key in certain industries such as fashion or entertainment. For example, if actors or singers have eye-catching physical appearances, they would draw much attention from the audience, which is a positive beginning for their career in the long run. On the other hand, I contend that wealth and beauty are only a stepping stone to initial success, thus, studiousness and determination offer a better chance of achieving long-term success. This is because not everyone comes from a wealthy background or is good-looking, as a result, they have to put a host of effort into working and studying to achieve their goals. Take J.K Rowling, a writer of Harry Porter, as a testament to this case. In the beginning, her draft of Harry Porter was turned down by 12 different publishers when she was a single mother living on social welfare. With her persistence and non-stop attempts, in the thirteenth, Bloomsbury agreed to publish the book, and then Harry Porter went viral and became one of the most successful books of the times. International travel has many advantages to both travelers and the countries they visit. Do you think that the benefits of international travel outweigh the drawbacks? All nations receive huge profits from many projects in their countries. Also, more than 60% of the huge profits from international travel because they can exchange cultural customs in many worlds. In my opinion, there are numerous drawbacks to this suggestion akin to over-tourism, and cultural erosion. On the one hand, the international travel benefits to both travelers and host countries are undeniable. Construction facilities to attract visitors is an eminent strategy to accomplish the development country. Not only the economic travel growing but also a number of opportunities unemployment have a new job. Additionally, when the number of promotions on social media, will make a vast number of visitors go to experience and take photographs of landscape and cuisine. All of them could push the domestic economy rate of the tourism industry. Likewise, the profit of this project can use rally extend stretch of places attracted numerous vacationers and upgrade services for vacationers. On the other hand, the main drawback when exchanging culture is cultural erosion. This is because diverse cultures are significantly increasing over time and age always changes constantly. As a result, we easily forget the customs of our nation and catch new things to attract travelers and grab the attention of other citizens of countries. The second negative impact is over-tourism because receiving too many customers at the same time, will lead to the inability to control the quality of service and food. Likewise, overcrowding tourist attractions will lead to unfortunate situations such as tourists possibly fainting in crowded places due to lack of oxygen. For example, hundreds of people died due to jostling and lack of oxygen in the Itaewon area of Seoul, South Korea. To sum up, this is the reason why culture can be eroded and fade away over time. In conclusion, the travel industry always the huge profits for a lavish country. However, if we try to upgrade and provide diverse cultures the other nations in our country, the local customs will disappoint. I believe a lavish country should preserve cultural heritage, reflect cultural values with cultural customs, and second is international travel. Prompt: All university students should do some voluntary work to help the local community. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Undergraduates in recent years have received enormous advocacy for community volunteering thanks to its positive impact on society. However, viewpoints are saying that potential drawbacks significantly affect their academic achievements which I strongly disagree with. I entirely support the statement that pupils studying in universities ought to do social charitable activities, attaching several pieces of evidence. Doing voluntary work heedlessly causes disadvantages for university students. Concentration loss, time-consuming, and study neglect could happen to those who find social volunteering interesting. For instance, a guy who participates in a community project may spend hours designing a proposal to send and ask for sponsors or receive calls during school time to solve relevant work. These negative impacts seriously alienate not only students’ school performances but also their mental health. On the other hand, the benefits can be gained when joining charitable activities completely outweigh the other in this term. Working for social purposes provides valuable opportunities for undergraduates to enhance life skills, such as time management, teamwork,... Besides, raising students’ awareness of understanding impoverished people and sympathy is what unpaid community service aims at. Therefore, more and more disadvantaged individuals are having better living conditions thanks to noble actions of students. Specifically, the proportion of those who are in the poverty line is more likely to reduce. Consequently, local society is step by step being improved and upgraded.. In conclusion, although doing voluntary work for community purposes impedes university students’ academic performances, it is strongly supported thanks to its benefits for the undergraduates themselves and the society. Some people believe that professionals, such as doctors and engineers, should be required to work in the country where they did their training. Others believe they should be free to work in another country if they wish. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Opinions are divergent regarding the matter of whether it is advisable to require professionals to dedicate themselves to the development of the country in which they are educated. The aim of this essay is to delve into both viewpoints and to give my opinion on this idea. It is understandable why many individuals advocate the idea that professionals must work in the nation where they receive training from. One primary rationale behind this is that governments make great contributions to supporting students’ studying, by totally or partly covering tuition fees. Therefore, in order to reinforce the economic stability and national budget, postgraduates can be obliged to devote their effort to that country and be levied taxes on their incomes. Another factor leading to that belief is that the working environment in that country may seem to be more familiar to students, thereby enhancing their productivity more significantly compared to working in a new country. However, I would firmly argue that students must be given an allowance to choose their workplace freely. One plausible explanation to reason my view is that forcing people to work in the country training them may infringe the liberty of work. Consequently, if the job position or working environment do not align with their desires, the motivation and efficiency at work have the tendency to decrease gradually, thus bringing less positive outcomes. Additionally, professionals should be given the right to work in nations which can facilitate their career prospects. As a matter of fact, keeping people staying in the same country may cause excessive labor force, leading to unemployment. Hence, professionals must be permitted to work in any country to ensure their stable occupations as well as make sure that their abilities can contribute to the advancement of humanity. In conclusion, although there are several advantages to require professionals to work in the country where they fulfilled their training courses, my firm conviction is that allowing them to work in another nation can bring far more significant benefits to their career path. Opinions are divergent regarding the matter of whether it is advisable to require professionals to dedicate themselves to the development of the country in which they are educated. For example, films and document videos or short clip videos on YouTube and TikTok are highly stimulating and encouraging ways of learning. Furthermore, it is easier for researchers who can assess different platforms to watch unlimited resources on the world, which allows them to learn mostly subjects, including history, art, and customs of different countries. On the other hand, written documents such as magazines, newspapers, and books are also an excellent source of materials. Studies have shown that reading is an effective methodology for learning compared to watching videos, especially when it comes to the retention of specific details of information. Moreover, books are also reliable resources over the period, eminent writers spent a long time to be able to public the value of customs and people through old books. Therefore, not only does reading expand our knowledge, but reading also indirectly supports writers. In conclusion, I do agree that researching information through the Internet plays a pivotal role in learning, but reading books is still an effective learning tool.
