The bar chart gives information about the proportion of different musical instruments learnt by students over a 10-year period, commencing 2005. Overall, the percentage of students learning to play the piano, the guitar and drums witnessed an upward trend, whereas the opposite was true for the violin. It is also noteworthy that the figures for piano and guitar learners experienced the most discernible growth. Looking first at the statistics for piano and guitar learners, in 2005, 11% students learnt to play the piano and the percentage of students who learnt to play the guitar was merely 1% lower. These figures later increased to reach 20% for piano and 19% for guitar in 2010 beforing doubling at the end of the examined period when the proportion of guitar learners surpassed that of piano. Turning to the percentage of students who took part in drums classes, in 2005 only 4% students learnt this instrument, registering the lowest figure; the figures later leveling out to 8% in 2015. Regarding the only category with a downward trend, initially 9% of the students learnt playing the violin in 2010, however, the figures then decreased to a marginal 5% to become the lowest statistic in 2015 The bar chart gives information about the proportion of different musical instruments learnt by students over a 10-year period, commencing 2005. TASK 2: Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news. However, others believe that they can get news better through another media platform. Discuss both views and give your opinion Opinions are divided on whether newspapers or social media are the best form of information provision for people to catch up with the latest news. This essay is aiming to elucidate both notions before performing my own idea that people can rely on getting news through newspapers due to their truthfulness and longevity. To begin with, it is understandable why some contend that social networks can provide a great source of data for users. The primitive explanation is that readers can approach news from the perspectives of different authors on online platforms. In fact, information on social media can be posted by various sources, ranging from official organizations to personal ideas. This therefore brings people to explore numerous views as well as broadens their horizons in multiple aspects, besides data from monopoly companies producing newspapers. Another precious clarification is that news can be effortlessly observed when people solely use their technical devices. For instance, by using smartphones and searching the keywords on the Internet, a vast array of information pops up on screens, leading them to access news whenever they want. Consequently, reading news on social networking sites may bring a sense of convenience, which is considered to be a significant way to collect data. Despite the aforementioned arguments, there are some justifications that newspapers also represent as a principal way to obtain news. Commencing with this matter, newspapers confer readers with the ability to get trustworthy information from official businesses or governments. In fact, before publishing this kind of news, it is strictly censored by the authorities, so audiences cannot be lured into unreliable information. In comparison with online news, they rarely undergo censorship as most data is introduced by anonymous individuals, which creates a sense of doubt and incredibility. Besides, reading printed newspapers can be beneficial for developing a positive habit. This form of information transmission has maintained its position over a long period of time, and most older generations prefer to read on a daily basis. Moreover, this activity might enhance reading skills as well as promote a healthy lifestyle. To conclude, some hold the belief that online platforms can be a better way to give information compared to conventional newspapers. However, I am of the conviction that traditional news may be dominant and act as a great way to acquire data. TASK 2: Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news. Bài Làm: The line chart illustrates how the amount of CO2 emitted from the UK, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal changed over a 40-year period. The unit is measured in metric tons. Overall, while Portugal and Italy significantly rose in the emissions of CO2, the figures for Sweden and the UK underwent a downward tendency. Additionally, the UK represented the highest recorded CO2 emissions for the entire period. In case of Portugal and Italy, In 1967, the amount of CO2 from Italy was roughly 4, which was four times as high as the figure in Portugal. In 1987, there was a sharp increase in the quantity of CO2 released from former countries, with approximately 7 from Italy, which was higher than 3 from Portugal. In the later years, Italy and Portugal experienced moderate growth in CO2 emissions, but then the figure for Italy reached its peak at nearly 8 while that of Portugal stood at around 5. Regarding the other countries, at the beginning of the period, the emissions of CO2 in the UK were reported to be nearly 11, more than 2 from Sweden. Should young people develop their own talents to contribute to their own social status or the development and stability of society? Discuss both views and give your opinion Many people argue that adolescents advance in their own talents to influence in their own social stations or the advancement and cohesion of community. Although some people argue that adolescents advance in their own talents to influence in their own social stations, I partly agree with this notion due to adolescents advancing in their own talents to advancement and cohesion of community. On the one hand, the idea of influence in social stations is beneficial to some extent. Firstly, people become more financially successful. For example, they have expertise in essential sectors. Another reason is they are a source of concern for the community and provide great opportunities for themselve of job. This is because society always focuses on gifted people. On the other hand, there are a variety of reasons why I believe in the advancement and cohesion of society. The first reason is that a better community should raise people’s awareness. This is because people can’t tamper with the law. The second reason relates to the fact that they provide financial support for society which stimulates the growth of the nation. This is because people are more likely to be involved in community activities. In conclusion, although talented people care about social status presents certain advantages, I contend that it should not be encouraged due to they should be more concerned with society. It can be predicted that governments take the initiative to encourage adolescents to contribute to the community. Topic: In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagreee with this statement? Online unpaid newspapers and books have been recently widespread and straightforwardly reachable, which leads to the gigantically diminishing people’s aspiration in offline newspapers and books. Personally, I completely agree with this statement. The option to purchase lowly printed newspapers and books is attractive for several reasons. The main reason is the ultimate convenience of online newspapers and books. This is due to their handy function, people can quickly search, select, and read various kinds of newspapers and books on phones, tablets, or laptops instead of carrying the enormous number of heavily physical ones. Consequently, a variety of sources in newspapers and books have been published widely on the Internet and most of them are approachable by electronic devices since they are all free. For example, “Oceanofpdf.com”, known as one of the most popular and useful websites, has plenty of divergent types of newspapers and books that civilians might not have to pay to download and read them. Moreover, the decline of physical newspapers and books should be a significant benefit to the natural environment. It can be explained by the fact that the original newspapers and books are made from wood, which translates into the deep impact of trees or even the serious disappearance of large and small forests. As a result, the cut-down for papers of trees has slowly climbed up. Additionally, the atmosphere and environment that human beings settle in will be more and more extremely polluted unless being cleansed by trees. In conclusion, people have currently approached the unpaid sources of online newspapers and books, so the number of readers in printed newspapers and books has gradually fallen. Prompt: Some people believe that hobbies need to be difficult to be enjoyable. To what extent do you agree or disagree? It is widely said that hobbies need to be more difficult. Personally, I partially agree with this view for many reasons and they will be discussed in the essay below. On the one hand, it is acceptable to increase the demand for complex pastime activities as many are beneficial for our health and performance in the workplace. To begin with, when a person has a high level of standard in their hobbies, they will receive enormous improvement. Several pastimes relating to sports activities are typical in this field, people are exposed to a wide range of difficulties when playing sports but after completing their target, they will benefit in both physical and mental health. Furthermore, the feeling of success benefits humans not only in their personal interests but also in their daily lives. To be more specific, when people are in an attempt to achieve their aims from the fundamental aspects such as hobbies, they will have encouragement to strive for a higher position in their work since they felt that they had gotten over themselves. On the other hand, the majority of humans maintaining any hobby is not trying to achieve a greater position, but for other fundamental purposes. Firstly, following personal interests requires a large amount of determination and dedication. It means that people have to invest time as well as money in it, art and photography are the most prevalent examples, which results in the ignorance of communicating in daily life. Therefore, enhancing the level of hobby will be an obstacle for residents to continue in their working fields. Besides that, people in this hectic life demand a balance between relaxation and work, and hobbies are one of the useful medications for them. A person nowadays needs a pastime activity which is less stressful and more accessible to a wide range of people, so it is unreasonable to cover them with the high level of their hobbies. In conclusion, deciding to increase the difficulty of hobbies depends mostly on each individual because it brings specific advantages and disadvantages. Em chào các thầy cô ạ, mong thầy/cô có thể bỏ ra chút thời gian sửa bài giúp em với ạ, em cảm ơn thầy/cô nhiều ạ Đề bài: Some people think that planting trees in open spaces in cities and towns is more important than building houses. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Recently, there has been a heated debate among scientists whether planting trees in cities or constructing building is of more importance. In my opinion, I believe that the emphasis should be placed on the former one as it help to better people's living conditions and play a role in addressing global warming issue. On the one hand, trees help enhance citizens' living environment. It is common knowledge that trees produce a significant amount of oxygen for us to survive and contribute to combating heavy pollution in cities and improving air quality. As a result, health conditions of residents living in those places can be improved as the fresher air can alleviate the risk of suffering from serious respiratory diseases such as lung cancer or asthma. In addition, trees can mitigate the rate of mental issues in humans, especially those living in metropolitian cities and often experience higher levels of stress. It has been proven by many scientists that trees can bring people a sense of peace in mind, and people are likely to be more relaxed when surrounded by trees. On the other hand, trees can also make a contribution to tackle global warming crisis. As trees grow, they absorb and store the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global heating. Moreover, their leaves also contribute to ultimately lower the temperature by filtering sun's heat and offer shade to vacant areas in towns or cities. Nowadays, there are many cosmopolitan cities all over the worlds, especially those in Europe are implementing this scheme in response to global climate crisis and almost all of them have been receiving remarkable benefits. In conclusion, it is my point of view that trees should be planted in some open spaces in urban areas to improve surrounding condition and mitigating global heating. Topic "Some people believe that university students should pay all costs of studies because university education only benefits themselves, not society as a whole. To what extent do you agree or disagree?" In light of the increasing number of high school graduates opting for tertiary education, one school of thought holds that students should pay tuition fees by themselves because university education only benefits the students, not society. However, in this essay I will challenge this thinking. On the one hand, it is understandable why some people believe that undergraduates who pursue higher education are the only beneficiary. Their key rationale is in favor of the notion that many college graduates are now immigrating to prosperous nations seeking better living conditions and a well-paid job, making little contributions to the development of their home countries. Thus, when the government pays their tuition fees, it will put a strain on the national coffers and tax-payers. However, this reasoning is flawed, as authorities in these less developed countries are making considerable efforts to keep talented graduates in their countries, offering higher salaries as well as many other benefits. On the other hand, I would contend that high school seniors who pursue tertiary education also make contributions to society. To begin with, graduates equipped with skills and knowledge will lead to a better educated workforce, generating higher quality products and the country’s economic growth on a grander scale. Vietnam perfectly exemplifies this, as in the 1950s when this country was crippled with war and poverty, little importance was put on education. But since Vietnam gained its independence and the government started incentivizing students to pursue higher levels of education by means of scholarship or student loans, this country has been recorded as one of the countries with fastest economic growth in Southeast Asia. Moreover, when an individual is well-educated, they will be able to get a job and be independent of government grants. Consequently, the government can allocate this money on other pressing issues such as run-down transportation or healthcare services. In conclusion, while there are justifications for advocating students to pay all costs of studies by themselves, I would contend that the government should help students pay some of their tuition fees to encourage them studying at university as this will benefit the students and society as a whole. Overall, this area has witnessed a variety of modernization in its construction. Besides, a highlight change is the considerable expansion of the car park over the years From 1950 to 2010, there was a significant reconstruction in the west of the school. To be more specific, the area of farmland in the southwest was removed to pave the wave for the sports field. Looking to the northwest, there used to be the location of housing in 1950, which was renovated into a car park and a new science block. On the other hand, the main road in the north, the main building of the school, and the playground on the east side were remained stable after 30 years. In 2010, the main road, the school, and the science block were kept intact compared to their position in 1980. A prominent feature can be seen in the restructuring of the school in 2010 with the extension of the car park, which was 3 times as much as its original size and took over the place of the sports field. Meanwhile, the east playground was narrowed by one-third to make room for the relocation of the sports field. A dominant feature can be seen as a dramatic increase in the quantity for in-person from the lowest position to the first rank in the end. In January, there were 400 inquiries sent to the Office in person, which was 500 lower than that by telephone. Both numbers then experienced an upward trend to 800 and 1000 in March before rocketing to their peaks at 1900 and 1600 correspondingly at the end of June. A disparity was applied in the quantity of inquiries received by letter/email. In the beginning, the figure for letter/emails took up nearly 800, holding the runner-up in January. The picture illustrates the process by which yoghurt production is made. In general, it can be seen that yoghurt is made through a four-stage process, beginning with adding three different types of ingredients into milk, which goes through various process steps, before ending with packaging complete products. Looking at the diagram more closely, one can see that the process begins with stabilizers, dry milk, sugar, and milk mixed up in a hygienic stainless steel vessel. At that time, the mixture is heated to 85℃. The result will be cooled down subsequently to 42℃ with a ‘homogenization’ step. After this phase has been completed, cultures are added to blend the mixture. Following this is the ‘fermentation’, which reduce its temperature to 7℃. At the final stage of the period, the finished yoghurt is packaged into individual containers before being sold. The picture illustrates the process by which yoghurt production is made. On the one hand, the option to confront with rough situations is attractive for several reasons. The main one is the reinforcement of strong mental health. This is because the negative thoughts occasionally get into people’s mind when they bear those tough situations, however, the acceptance and clarity of situations helps to form the positivity of mental health. As a result, people will be more optimistic instead of moaning, and not falter in the face of difficulties. Furthermore, the acceptance avoids the escape from the present reality. This could be explained by the fact that people have the tendency to live in their imagination of better scenarios whenever getting tough through the evasion. Therefore, civilians cannot distinguish between the reality and their delusion. On the other hand, there are a variety of reasons why I believe that those situations should be taken as a chance and developed. The significant point is the self-improvement. Because the difficulties should be seemed as an attempt to deeply realise people’s ordinary mistakes and then challenge themselves to improve ones. Consequently, that will be a fundament of generating the best version’s themselves. For example, a Mickey’s father Walt Disney, without a fulfil background due to not being assisted to grow up, endeavoured relentlessly to unleash and acquired successes. Moreover, creating an amazing opportunity for yourself is presented as a subsequent reason. It could be explained by the fact that instead of accepting and transforming those situations to a conventional way, people are able to figure out another ways and from that point, it might reap a fulfil chance to enhance. For instance, a talented actress Hedy Lamarr was assumed that she should stay at home and do woman’s duty such as cleaning, but instead of spending time on doing houseworks, she did research at home and created the frequency conversion method which is a foundation of later bluetooth, wifi and GPS. In conclusion, while there are many benefits regarding that the admission of a tough context is the best, I still believe that it is more beneficial to undertake and encourage in changing which is remedied the badly inevitable situations.
