People say that it is a waste of time for high school students to learn literature such as novels and poems. Do you agree or disagree with this idea?
Many individuals think that there is no point learning literature at high school since it is a time-consuming and tedious subject. From my perspective, I am wholeheartedly of the contradictory viewpoint due to some reasons being clarified in this essay. It is undeniable that learning literature can bring various positive impacts on the personal development of students. Apparently, literature lessons have the tendency to connect with historical events and upheavals. Hence, studying literature can help young people to be more aware of their history and ethnicity, thereby reinforcing the cultural identity of their nation. For example, in Vietnam, there is an abundance of literary works written in the periods of war. By learning this, students will have a higher sense of gratitude for the sacrifice of their ancestors, thus being motivated to maintain and enhance their homeland. Another advantage that can be obtained from literature is that it can cultivate students’ creativity as well as foster their communication skills. Taking communication skill as a good illustration, many companies these days require employees who have good eloquence and language proficiency, which can facilitate them to get more lucrative contracts. Therefore, learning literature appears to be beneficial as it makes significant contributions to their future career prospects. In conclusion, although literature may not arouse students’ interest in some way due to traditional pedagogical styles, the situation can be improved by integrating technology and other activities to make lessons become more attractive. Hence, my firm conviction is that literature should be a compulsory subject thanks to the merits it brings to students. Many individuals think that there is no point learning literature at high school since it is a time-consuming and tedious subject. The pie charts below compare the proportion of energy capacity in gigawatts (GW) in 2015 with the predictions for 2040. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant The two pie charts given illustrate the comparison between the percentage of different types of energy capacity in gigawatts (GW) in 2015 and the forecast in 2040. Generally, the proportion of renewable energy capacity is expected to increase after 25 years, when that of solar energy will be the highest rise. Conversely, the figure for fossil fuels which make up the highest portion over the period considerably decreased. Additionally, the total capacity for all energy in gigawatts is predicted to be nearly double in the 25-year period. It can be seen that there will be a significant decrease in the percentage of fossil fuels’ capacity, which will fall by 20% from 64% in 2015 to 44% in 2040. However, that of fossil fuels will still be the highest among all energy in the future, approximately 5000 GW over 11.678 GW in total in 2040. Besides, making up only 2% in 2015, the proportion of solar energy volume is anticipated to increase nine times to 18% in 2040, becoming the highest in three important renewables recorded. Over the period given, the figure for wind energy will go up from 5% to 12% while that of nuclear energy is predicted to slightly decrease by 1% to 5%, which will be the lowest in all types of energy mentioned. Similarly, the percentage of other renewables capacity is forecasted to marginally decline from 23% to 21% for 25 years. In addition, the number of all energy capacity in GW will rise two times from 6688 GW in 2015 to 11.678 GW in 2040. Đề bài: Around the world, many adults are working from home, and more children are beginning to study from home because technology has become cheaper and more accessible. Do you think it is a positive or negative development? Essay: In this technology driven world, numerous individuals from adults to children are inclined to work and study from home on account of the low cost, accessibility and convenience. From my viewpoint, such development is positive due to the aforementioned reasons. On the one hand, working or studying from home do not waste much expense.Take an illustration of transportation.Every day, it takes people a great amount of time and expenditure even if they commute to working spaces or schools. Plus, there is a possibility of having several spontaneous fees, which can gradually spoil their savings. In this regard, working from home not only alleviates the money spent but also helps with addressing redundant expenses on a daily basis. Another point to consider is that it is effortless to approach. The proliferation of the Internet has overcame geographic barrier; hence, working at home is a sustainable option. In fact, there is no fear of losing interaction with others when several social sites perhaps can fulfill that need. With those platforms, they are able to resolve and discuss work without stepping out of their homes. Additionally, it allows them to flexibly regulate their schedules. Albeit the same official working and learning hours, they can properly decide which task to do first, then which is the second to enhance productivity without being criticized. This may make learning and working more comfortable. In short, while it is clear that there is a great deal of shortcomings with this latest method of working, it is undeniable that the benefits are even more superior. ĐỀ: Employers should be concerned about the quality of their employees' work instead of how they dress. Do you agree or disagree ? There has been a growing concern over that it is crucial for the employers to concentrate on the work quality of the employees instead of being concerned about how they dress. From my perspective , I strongly agree with this statement for many reasons. It is vital for the employers to acknowledge that the labor productivity is the fundamental contributor to the promotion of businesses’ economy. The employers play a paramount role in helping their employees to improve and move up the career ladder. In other words, if the managers put their efforts on training their staffs including following their working performance and find their strength and weakness, it can help the worker to cultivate relevant job skills , acquiring experience working that contribute to the promotion opportunities . As a result , the potential employees have ability to innovate the products that are not only ideal but also creative, boosting firms’ economy and reputation. Another reason why I believe that is limiting the way employees dress leads to the loss of their job satisfaction . This is because when being observed by higher-ups , it makes employees uncomfortable and stressed out about the strict working environment. However, if the workers are allowed to dress in the free way , depending on their preferences, it leads to the enhancement of creativity and comfort. As a result , the employers can provide their employees with the not only friendly but also effective working environment. In conclusion , it is more crucial for the employers to pay attention to the quality at work than focusing on the clothes which the workers dress. It is a natural process for animal species to become extinct. There is no reason why people should try to prevent this from happening. Do you agree or disagree?
The debate surrounding the natural occurrence of animal extinction and the human responsibility to prevent it continues to be a topic of contention. One school of thought holds that extinction is an inherent aspect of nature and should not be a concern. However, I believe that human actions have a significant impact on the extinction rates of some animals, necessitating intervention to preserve biodiversity. On the one hand, it is understandable that the extinction of animals has always taken place naturally. The primary reason behind this thinking is that geological records show that mass extinctions periodically reset the stage for new life forms to emerge and evolve. For example, numerous dinosaurs, along with other species, were eradicated by a historical catastrophe. This event coincided with the period when Homo sapiens had not yet come into existence. Therefore, it is a stretch to say that natural phenomena, including volcanic activity and climate shifts, are of paramount importance for the dramatic changes in biodiversity. However, the rate of human actions, especially rampant poaching, is more pressing and positively correlates with the dramatic decrease in many species' populations. Moreover, industrial and agricultural activities, while contributing to the healthier economy of the state, partly cause animals to grapple with the challenges of destroyed natural habitats, a dearth of food resources, and poor reproductive conditions. Besides, it is undeniable that many organisms, such as bees and other pollinators, are at the core of maintaining the delicate balance of ecosystems by facilitating the reproduction of flowering plants and ensuring the production of fruits and trees. Secondly, protecting wild animals yields multiple economic benefits, as they play an important role in helping tourism succeed by attracting not only domestic tourists but also international ones. In particular, while extinction is a natural process with historical precedence, human activities also play a crucial role in the extinction of species, necessitating attention to the benefits of safeguarding ecosystems and contributing to the prosperity of the country. Therefore, there is a need for holistic conservation measures. It is important for people to take risk, both in their professional lives and their personal lives. Do you think the advantages of taking risks outweigh the disadvantages?
In this contemporary society, taking risks is said to hold an essential part in the development of individual lives as well as career path. From my perspective, although risk-takers can experience undesirable failures and disappointment, my firm conviction is that the prospective benefits of accepting hazardous challenges are far more significant than the disadvantages involved. It is understandable why taking risks may pose some certain demerits to people’s lives. As a matter of fact, people can be confronted with various difficulties which require great effort and capacity to handle. For example, discouraged by those hardships, besides losses in time, money and effort, people may suffer from many serious mental problems such as depression or pessimism. Additionally, when it comes to the context of an enterprise, taking risk may not ensure the operation of a company appropriately. Conducting risky campaigns can probably cause bankrupts, thereby imposing big debt as a financial burden to the operation of the company. Despite the aforementioned negative drawbacks, I would argue that it is worth taking risks due to the advantages it brings to the development of people’s lives and their occupation. To elucidate, it is undeniable that coming out of the comfort zone can help people gain a deeper insight as well as accumulate more experience. A good illustration for this is that students who study abroad may have to deal with loneliness or economic hurdles in return for more broad knowledge they obtain and the career prospects in the future. In terms of professional lives, people can get the same benefits as the mentioned student. For instance, many people do not know the history of establishing the renowned KFC brand which had gone through hundreds of failures and bankruptcy, but its boss did not give up until finding the best recipe then became successful. In conclusion, in spite of bringing several disadvantages to a certain extent, I believe that taking risks is crucial for people because it allows people to broaden their horizon and become more proficient in their fields, thereby succeeding in pursuing their goals. In this contemporary society, taking risks is said to hold an essential part in the development of individual lives as well as career path. TOPIC: Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? It is sometimes argued that governments should allocate money to railway systems instead of road networks. To a certain extent, I agree that it may be true that investing in railways can bring many merits. However, I hold a strong view that there are many advantages to building roads. On the one hand, the opinion that spending money on roads rather than railroads is attractive for several reasons. Firstly, roads have improved connectivity more than railways. This can be explained by investing in building roads to enable better access to remote areas, markets, and amenities for people. For example, the project of linking isolated areas to the rest of the country in Brazil through road networks gained improved access to essential services, markets, and healthcare facilities in larger cities. Secondly, building railways can enhance trade and commerce. To explain, when governments squander money on roads, well-constructed roads facilitate the movement of goods and services, encouraging trade and commerce. On the other hand, there are a variety of reasons why I believe that governments should allocate money to railways. The first reason is that rail transport is more environmentally friendly than roads. This can be explained that when governments disburse money to railways, the number of people commuting by trains can increase significantly. As a result, this can cut individual carbon footprint and minimize the pollution state. For example, Germany can mitigate air pollution due to making significant investments in railway infrastructure of governments. Another significant reason is railways can reduce the number of vehicles circulating on the streets. Under certain assumptions, this can be construed as by providing a reliable alternative to cars, railways can help alleviate the strain on existing road infrastructure. This can reduce traffic congestion as well as accidents occurring among vehicles on the streets. For instance, the implementation of the high-speed railway system in Japan has significantly reduced traffic jams on major highways and improved the overall transportation experience for the public. In conclusion, while there are valid arguments against spending money on railways, the benefits of their development outweigh the drawbacks. Therefore, governments should prioritize investment in railways to create a more sustainable and efficient transportation network. TOPIC: Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads.
