On the one hand, one of the reasons why university should offer only useful subjects for students' future is that it might be beneficial to their career prospects. This means studying majors like science and technology would provide them with a variety of employment opportunities including scientists, specialists, technologists, etc, which can also make a substantial contribution to the national development. On the other hand, I believe that students should be encouraged to opt for their preferred areas of study. First and foremost, there might be various benefits when studying other subjects. For example, studying arts and music would have a positive influence on developing students' skills such as creative thinking, imagination, and studying PE will be able to make it easier to improve their physical health since it is a great method to improve their fitness level. Additionally, university students will be able to have more motivations to acquire the knowledge if they are allowed to study their favorite majors. More precisely, they will be able to feel bored with science and technology if they are not interested in these areas, hence, they would find it useless for them to continue studying. However, they would find it more interesting when they can study subjects they like, which can motivate them to carry on their study. It is often alleged that people can watch entertainment performances online instead of attending the live shows thanks to the development of technology. Although I acknowledge the logic behind this view, I still strongly disagree with it for several reasons. Advocates for online performances may have some valid arguments. They may well argue that watching art performances through technological devices can be more flexible for audiences, especially those who can barely manage to come to the show’s venue. During the Covid-19 pandemic, for instance, many concerts of KPOP idols were broadcasted online to satisfy their fans’ need for entertainment. Another reason is that people can save a significant amount of money from opting for watching shows online. To be specific, fees for online shows are significantly lower than the live ones, thereby they are able to enjoy the entertainment online without having to pay handsomely. Nevertheless, I still strongly oppose this view and believe that attending live performances can be more beneficial to both audiences and artists. Firstly, by seeing the close-up performances, audiences are likely to enjoy and immerse in the atmosphere of the shows which is a vital factor of the entertainment’s appeal. In fact, the crowd effect at live shows may foster people’s delirium and satisfaction which helps them to relieve stress and mental exhaustion from their daily basis. As for astists, the applause from live audiences plays an important role in encouraging them to be more enthusiastic on stage. As a result, the performers can grow to love their professions more as their devotion receives deserved recognitions from the viewers. Many households feel it is crucial that both husband and wife have to share the financial burden. A school of thought holds that higher income from the parents will bring many advantages to their children. However, some others are opposed to this idea, claiming that the children of working parents suffer from neglected parenting. From my perspective, both views are of great significance in equal measure, and I will further elaborate in this essay. A large number of people believe that children will enjoy a better life quality if both their father and mother go to work. It is undeniable that these families will have higher incomes and can afford lots of costly things such as high-end clothes, video games, and mobile phones. Furthermore, their parents can also provide their children with high-quality medical and healthcare services as well as comprehensive education. Notably, this situation will have a bad impact on children’s social awareness as well as their physical and mental development. For example, children are likely to learn many bad behaviors from toxic friends, which negatively affects their personality. A good illustration is that one versatile machine can supersede two or three employees’ capacity simultaneously. Despite the aforementioned explanations, I would contend that the drawbacks of this tendency can overshadow its opposite, owing to a few clarifications. Firstly, there will be a surge in the unemployment rate when a business is operated with automation. This could result in social stagnation and lower the living standard among residents. In other words, the industrial field might lack creativity by virtue of mechanical dependency. Secondly, these types of businesses need to charge a large sum of money for maintenance expenses. As machines are likely to break down owing to a few external factors, such as physical touch and weather, a host company is willing to invest and improve their quality monthly. This deed therefore leads to the postponement of task completion, delaying almost all of the production chain. However, I think that the disadvantages of ageing population can overshadow its advantages. With regard to the contrasting viewpoint, I admit that some may argue that video games, especially negatively designed ones such as violent games, are likely to change players’ personalities adversely. This is mainly because people who play this genre may often be seen to display aggressive behaviour and violent tendencies. However, I still firmly believe that there are numerous types of games available apart from such not-encouraged genres, for instance, solving puzzles, math or sports games. To be specific, they are capable of allocating national budget to improve the facilities and infrastructures in suburbs to cater people living in these areas, which may discorage them from moving to big cities. In addition, the government have an ultimate control over the real estate market which has significantly affected the housing scarcity. Seoul, the capital city of Korea, is a prime example of this, as the administration strictly restricts people from investing in the housing market. Nevertheless, I would argue that the inadequacy of housing can be solved by other private sectors. Firstly, companies can invest to establish their branches or factories in rural areas to provide local residents with more employment opportunitunities, thereby they can work at their hometown instead of moving to big cities and struggling to find a place to settle. Secondly, some economic institutions can facilitate those with low-income who find a house unaffordable. In fact, banks can help their customers get a friendly loan to buy a house, property companies could provide an easy scheme to pay for the houses. In conclusion, it is undeniable that the authorities’ part in dealing with the housing shortage is indisputable. However, I take the view that they are not the sole solution to the housing crisis since for-profit businesses would also be essential to tackle the issue.
